The lovely and welcoming wormth of the hosts, the unimaginable views and the overall quality of the estate makes my visit to the RK one of my top ten best ever! Rob’s fantastic and including persona, the guided tour of the estates wine celler and the fantasticly tender Springbook ribs over the open fire was ”three star” and very hard to top! The Royal Karoo is SA luxuary at its best!

It was an amazing stay and hunt in several aspects! We were a party of 2 We stayed in late August (still a little chilly) We are from the USA. - The meat from the property was unforgettable! I was impressed with every meal. They have a cook that knows how to serve up every animal. The Gemsbok T-bone steak was worth the trip in itself. Before getting to Royal Karoo, we tried some of the same animal meats in Cape Town, but it was over cooked and un-flavorful. If you want to get the best flavor out of meats like springbok, gemsbok, or eland, save your tastebuds for the "karoo" meat served at Royal Karoo. - Hunting was great. We got every animal we planned on getting with time for more. The property was expansive. On every day of our 6 day trip we were brought to a new part of the property that we hadn't seen on any of the previous days. With such an expansive property, there was a large selection of mature animals. The property seemed never ending with a trophy animal everywhere you went. - Everyone was extremely accommodating. Our PH was great company for the whole trip. Both he and the tracker were excited to be with us and make sure we got the animals we wanted. While I might have been exhausted by day 6, they still had the same eagerness to wake up early and get us out on the property to continue the memorable experience. - We were treated to a pleasant closing to the day, every day! Everyone met around an outdoor fire pit under the starry sky. The meat for dinner would get seared over the open flames while all the hunting parties would tell the stories of their adventures for the day. Once dinner was ready, we would sit down at a table next to the fire light and feast on meat harvested from the property. It was how every day in life should come to a close. This is also where I was able to check off my last TODO item for my trip to South Africa which was listen to the song Africa by Toto while in Africa.

We were on a cycling trip in the Baviaans region and our stay of one night at Royal Karoo was one to remember! Laura and Rob were incredibly hospitable and went out of their way for us. A memorable evening filled with laughter was spent around the boma and our cycle the next day through the farmlands was spectacularly beautiful. We look forward to going there again. A real treat.

Our group was treated to a truly memorable couple of days at Royal Karoo. Our hosts, Rob and Laura, together with their superb staff members, went out of the way to make sure that we enjoyed a top class experience - great accommodation, superb meals and real attention to detail; our Fair Chase hunting was out of the top drawer too - wide selection of game, knowledgeable PHs and breathtaking scenery. The entire experience ranks up there with the very best - I recommend Royal Karoo without any hesitation at all.

We had an excellent family holiday at the Royal Karoo. The food was beyond amazing and the hospitality also. The rooms are spacious and warm and the views around the lodge are also beautiful. We saw many antelope from the lodge deck and many more on our drives around the game farm. The children were especially excited to see the Giraffe so close. Thank you Royal Karoo for a lovely holiday! Our children enjoyed practicing their “tracking skills” on a hike near the lodge also!
