Blaisdon House proved the perfect stopover for our Wysis Way walk. The Wysis links Offas Dyke to the Thames source passing through astonishly beautiful countryside.

Blaisdon House itself is a national treasure. The hosts, Chris and Sue, provided a warm welcome despite our slightly bedraggled appearance after a long hike

The bedrooms would not look out of place at the Dorchester. There's attention to detail everywhere with real substance too - the shower pressure, bedding quality and linens are all first class.

Finally, the best breakfast of our entire two week holiday.

It's impossible not to be wowed!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful house.
Everything you could want in a retreat, this is what it felt like to us, peaceful tranquil surroundings and all supported by local businesses and local produce.
The kitchen gardens support visitors with eggs, fruit and flowers (lots are edible) amongst the serene gardens.
Chris and sue have a wonderful ecological practice in running their businesses. From your linen, towels (all cleaned using non chemicals) toilet rolls ( eco company) bathroom essentials ( local organic company ) to non chemically cleaning ,( it is starkly clean) , composting waste and reducing their carbon footprint by refilling by glass .
We were overwhelmed at the huge effort to source locally and protect the environment at every measure.
If you are a person who is willing to support local businesses and help the environment , this is the place ( and people) you've been looking for.
We cant wait to visit you again.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay 🥰

What a truly superb place to stay. I pulled up in the car and Chris was waiting to greet me. (good start). There is parking for 3 cars at the B&B.
I fell it's wrong to class this establishment as just a B&B, it is a luxurious place to stay set in and idyllic location.
I was asked to complete a breakfast slip to ensure I received exactly what I wanted and also that there would be minimal waste. I was staying at Blaisdon for an evening appointment and needed to use the WiFi during the day for work. Chris and his wife Sue made me feel really welcomed and told me to feel free to use another room to work in if I preferred and that wifi was good to the garden area too.
I was shown to my room, so much space and everything had been thought through by my hosts.
There was a fan in case it was too hot, robes in case I forgot my own, speciality high class toiletries made from lavender and honey, two extra large rain macs in case it rained and I had forgotten mine. I mini bar that worked with an honesty policy with a bottle of wine for those that wished to indulge and a bottle of chilled water.
A really peaceful night's stay on the ample sized double bed. Lovely feel to the linen on the bed which was also high quality.
After a good night's rest, then came the sumptuous breakfast.
Cereal/yoghurt (oh the yoghurt was superb with fresh fruit (pineapple, raspberry, blueberry and musli added).
Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Lovely fresh coffee and toast made from freshly home made bread.

This is a high class establishment that offers luxurious accommodation at a reasonable price. Definitely a hidden gem in the countryside with delightful hosts Sue and Chris. As I left Sue gave me a bag off cooking apples from the garden. A nice touch.

I shall definitely be back but wonder after this review whether there will be any room available.

After a weekend of wild camping, in the forest of Dean, we needed some luxury and we were not dissapointed. We were greeted by a exceptionally friendly lady, the daughter of the hostess. Very helpful, efficient and from London, where I work... So I wasn't the only one feeling lost without every covienience open constantly. The room was a superior double with a very comfortable bed, sofa that felt like a big hug and a beautiful rain drop shower. Wonderful vegan breakfast that I was able to have in the room as a weekend wild camping had left me a bit jiggered. I'm pre op mtf trans and usually there are some difficult moments when staying in country side establishments. But let me tell you how amazing both mother and daughter were. I even got complimented on my nails. I would say that rounded off the stay perfectly. There is nowhere else worth staying, than Blaisdon House B&B. Bellisimo!!!

A very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Blaisdon House is one of those places you hesitate to recommend because you don’t want it to get so popular you can never get in. A warm welcome, friendly chatty hosts who you felt were not just going through the motions. Great rooms with very comfortable beds and an interesting mixture of old and modern classic furnishings. Lots of thoughtful touches-we didn’t need to bring dressing gowns, face flannels, anoraks, or umbrellas. The breakfast is excellent with a very well thought out choice of alternatives. The countryside surrounding is lovely and in season the garden would be too.

Perfect in every way.

We visited Blaisdon House in Oct 2017, and it was brilliant then.
We returned for a 3 day break in Oct 21.
We were’nt dissapointed.
The place is absolutely brilliant. Both Chris and Sue ( the owners) have thrown everything into this.
The decor is pristine, and with both of their eye for detail, nothing is out of place and everything just fits.
You get a very hearty welcome when you arrive, and that warm welcome just melts into a home comfort when you see the rooms.

Breakfasts are a world of pleasure, not just on food quality, but also a relaxed interaction with other guests and owners.

You’re not just a guest at Blaisdon House, you’re part of it.

An absolute treasure B&B, made so much more pleasurable by both Chris/Sue’s kindness and genuine warmth.

It was so lovely to see you both again. We couldn't believe all that time had gone by since your last stay. You are too kind. We really do enjoy running the B&B and to receive such wonderful feedback is so encouraging for us. So pleased you enjoyed it just as much second time around! We love your phrase "you are not just a guest at Blaisdon House; you are part of it" I think we might "nick" that for our marketing ;-)

We stayed at beautiful Blaisdon house for 2 nights over the bank holiday but we wished it was for longer. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived- This is so much more than a B&B, Chris and Sue welcomed us warmly into their home with luxurious, spotlessly clean bedrooms, and other thoughtful touches such as an honesty bar, waterproof coats to use if the weather “turned” and the freedom to relax in their fantastic lounge and gardens. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented and we wanted for nothing. Chris and Sue reflect their eco friendly values throughout Blaisdon house with locally sourced products and attention to detail. Their genuine enthusiasm and hard work to ensure that your stay is the best it can be speaks volumes and we can’t wait to return!

Just an absolutely wonderful holiday at the Blaisdon House B&B. Sue and Chris are especially friendly, and cook a fabulous and filling breakfast. Their house is gorgeous, yet comfortable. There is every amenity you could want, including a mini-fridge, wine glasses, and coffee and tea in the room.

I dream about returning someday. Don't hesitate to book your stay here!

Blaisdon House is a beautiful venue to stay to explore the Forest of Dean. The character of the house is very calming and together with very friendly hosts and very very tasty food using locally sourced produce this is an experience we will want to repeat in the not so distant future. The location of this small village is also ideal as it is relatively close too many attractions such as Symonds Yat and Ross on Wye

Definitely one of the best B and B's we have stayed at. Just look at the reviews, all five stars, except for two fours. Our hosts were warm, friendly, helpful and polite. Our room was warm, comfortable and clean. The power shower was ...powerful and easy to operate.
The breakfasts were spot on and the homemade bread on which I piled damson jam was delicious.
Highly recommended and we look forward to staying there again.

Thank you for adding your voice to our reviews - we do appreciate the feedback we get and it helps us get better along with helping others feel confident to book with us directly. We are glad you found the shower enjoyable - we invested heavily in our pressurised water system to ensure all the showers would be powerful at the same time. A good breakfast is important to us and we are so glad you enjoyed your. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
