The Wesley is an upmarket Guesthouse that caters for the more discerning guests. Situated in the heart of Bryanston, Sandton, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a natural bird haven which has been cultivated over decades opposite the Bryanston golf course. As one of the oldest farm houses in Bryanston, the property is situated on the highest point in the area and has been occupied by Multinational CEOs and Heads of States. The Wesley is conveniently near many popular venues, namely 10 minutes away from Sandton, Fourways, Cresta, Rosebank, Monte Casino, the highway and the Gautrain Set in an idyllic surrounding, there are few experiences that can rival sipping sundowners on the deck, listening to the gurgling of the waterfalls, basking amongst the unique bird life, and watching the setting of the magnificent South African sun! Exclusivity and privacy is the key to the service offering and each room is designed with this in mind. The entire area is covered by Cameras, electric fencing and electric beams with 24 hour guards and is truly a secure environment where you can feel at home without any worries. With a backup generator in case of power failure. The rooms vary in size from 45 to 100 square metres boasting antiques in all the rooms dating between 100 and 250 years old. The focus and design is a fusion between French Provencal with touches of ancient colonial Asia. Each of the 11 rooms has a sense of conformity with the detail presenting total individualism. The majority of the decor has been specifically imported and guests can experience treats such as slumbering on an 18th Century bed. Without giving away all the treasures to be found in the common areas, you will definitely notice the 250 year old feature door when exploring the property. There is a Cigar bar and an African Bar and a beautiful swimming pool with waterfalls and Palm trees rivaling Sun City. If you are looking for the best bouquet of offerings from personal to professional and modern to old school, The Wesley will not disappoint both private and business traveller alike. The Wesley has become 'ONE HOT TICKET' getting a full write up in the Top Billing 2011 Issue

The establishment is neat and clean with a very helpful attendant on site; however, I don't believe management/owners are taking an active role on site.
1. I was flying in from a multiple stop trip and the requirement was for me to establish an exact arrival time which was just not possible when you consider airport regulations.
2. The vegetarian request was not attended to in our first breakfast.
3. The establishment did not manage the water outage experienced in the area on the last day. I was given 1 5l to make do among two grown adults who needed to bathe and brush teeth.

I was planning an overnight and site seeing in Joberg. The Hotel said they could arrange airport transportation. After several calls the lady at the front desk said she would have someone meet my flight. The flight was delayed and the driver did not check with the airlines in advance. He also did not have money to get out of the airport parking lot! It's a long drive 30 minutes + from the airport. He wanted to be paid in cash instead of adding it to my bill.
I wanted to get something to eat and the front desk was not helpful. Finally I found the Owner and she took care of everything.
The room was nice and quiet. It is one room with the tub and shower next to the bed. The grounds were cleanand inviting.

It was perfect for a business trip, breakfast served early enough, rooms were super clean and absolutely beautiful. Enjoyed having a desk in my room which allowed me to do some admin at the end of my day of meetings. And the fridge was a bonus too.
Service was fantastic - Nolly and ther other staff are gems. Felt very comfortable and at home.
What a beautiful establishment. Thank you!

Very peaceful. A hidden gem. I will definitely book here again. I found the atmosphere very friendly. I could not believe that I was actually in the middle of Jhb. If I was not on business, I would have liked to enjoy the environment more. Perhaps next time. I was also blessed with the most glorious weather during my trip.

We booked in here for the night of our wedding. When we arrived there was a big party going on below the balcony of our room - noise, drinking etc. We approached the front desk to request that they ask the party to quieten down (it was 23:00 which seemed reasonable enough) - the response from the front desk was a resounding NO! We left and found another place to stay - still in full wedding attire.

It gets worse - upon following up with management over the course of the next 2 weeks requesting that they refund our deposit their response was that they had already provided us a discount by not making us pay for the balance of the amount outstanding and that this was compensation enough! They further argued that the party was not noisy despite management not being there on the night. Management, WHY WOULD WE LEAVE A HOTEL ON THE NIGHT OF OUR WEDDING IF IT WAS QUIET?

Overall, the level of service and arrogance of management and front desk was shocking to say the least. Not even a courtesy call to inform us of the event happening right below our room knowing full well we were arriving as newly weds that night.

Wedding parties, AVOID THIS PLACE! Others, AVOID THIS PLACE!
