Das Tegernsee hotel is celebrated for its prime location with stunning views over Lake Tegernsee, which guests find serene and picturesque. The hotel's spa and breakfast spread receive consistent praise, as does the elegant atmosphere of its rooms and facilities. While the service is generally applauded for being attentive and friendly, some travelers have encountered inconsistencies. Opinions on the rooms are mixed, with commendations for their beauty and decor but criticisms over cleanliness and noise. Value for money is a concern for many guests, who mention overpriced services and discomfort with the beds.

It was our second visit to the Lake Tegernsee after a day visit back in July of 2022, it was such a nice area we wanted to return to stay. We booked a package at Das Tegernsee on their website which included breakfast, dinner and spa treatments. This hotel is first class not to mention the beautiful views it offers over the lake. The hotel is far enough from town to not be in the tourist zone, but has an easy walk to town from the property (the walk back up is steep but manageable). The entire hotel and rooms are spotless, the staff is kind, they all speak English, which was helpful to us. The breakfast has a very nice variety, something for everyone. Dinner was fantastic, a 3 course meal was part of the package and did not disappoint. It was really first class and had a nice selection for wine pairing or if beer/liquor is your preference that is available as well. The portion size is just right so you are able to enjoy each course at your own pace, they politely allow you to take time between courses without being rushed which is different than what we are used to in America. The bar has a great ambiance as well, with fireplace and sitting areas. The spa is such a relaxing space with an incredible view over the lake, one can spend an entire day in there if they wish. They have a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool, multi sauna area, relaxation area, a great self service bar with drinks/coffee, area where spa treatments are provided, as well as, yoga and workout space. While the hotel has several buildings, it never felt crowded or too busy, perhaps that is due to off season? I would highly recommend this if you would enjoy a peaceful retreat just outside of town with a luxury feel but at an affordable price. Exceptional.

After more than 14 years we were now at Das Tegernsee for the second time and our positive memory many years ago was confirmed this time as well.

In advance, you have to say the hotel has simply the top location on Lake Tegernsee.

The hotel consists of 3 buildings. This means some distances, but the connection of the 3 units is well resolved, so the paths are still acceptable.

Rather, the whole thing is not quite easy for the staff to act, but the good spirits of the house master this fabulously.

We had a wonderful room with lake view in Senger Castle this time...here is the name program... it was really a great room. The room was very spacious and elegantly decorated.

Would absolutely recommend taking a room there because then the routes to the restaurant and the bar are short.

The big plus with this stay was definitely the very friendly (not artificial) and endeavoured staff. A special compliment to Felix Niggl the hall manager at breakfast. He already knew our name on day 1 and managed the whole hustle and bustle (there were a lot of people in the hotel) extremely loose and friendly.

The breakfast room itself is unfortunately very noisy - also due to the many guests -BUT you have here in nice weather (yes we were lucky on both days) even now in November still the opportunity to have breakfast on the dreamlike terrace. And that alone is really priceless. We had breakfast here for hours comfortably and in peace with a view of the lake and let the sun shine on us.

The SPA is also great, but even when fully occupied then quite crowded. Relaxation room was great but no room for us. What is also to be mentioned here in praise are the infusions in the panoramic sauna on the roof. Very great and pleasantly made. Here also a praise to the infusion master Michael.

We will definitely come back ... hopefully not for 14 years.

Our stay at the Tegernsee Spa-Hotel as part of my wife's birthday event was just perfect. It was our first spa stay at this house, and we were thrilled throughout.

Service & amenities:
The service and offers are simply excellent. My wife had the best massage of her life – performed by Mrs. Strasser, who was incredibly professional and sensitive. She really enchanted my wife.

Rooms & welcome:
Our room at Haus Wallberg was beautiful. Especially the loving details such as a small bouquet with chocolates and fresh fruit as well as the welcome drink at check-in surprised us very positively.

Cuisine:
Breakfast was phenomenal – a huge selection, high quality and excellent in taste. Especially beautiful: The birthday girl was personally congratulated, and a bottle of sparkling wine with a handwritten card was brought to our room.

Spa & Pools:
The spa treatments were great and highly professional. The pools were pleasantly tempered, and the overall atmosphere in the spa area was relaxing and luxurious.

Parking facilities:
There are numerous parking spaces on the premises as well as a multi-storey underground car park directly connected to the buildings – very practical and comfortable.

Small review:
However, there is one small point for improvement: The Wi-Fi was not universally accessible, which we would not have expected in a hotel of this category.

Conclusion:
All in all, our stay was outstanding. My wife felt like a queen, which I think is the greatest distinction a spa hotel can achieve. We are sure that we will stop here even more often – a true gem on Lake Tegernsee!

Sustainable and no daily housekeeping I find inappropriate in a 5 star hotel at least making beds and checking if something is missing cups etc should always be made. Sheets too short as soon as you get to bed it slips out of the mattress at the bottom. Ambience Breakfast room very improveable it is much too noisy carpet on the floor could perhaps remedy this also is partly the furniture spotty. Selection Breakfast could be modified a bit daily.
Daily cleaning was ordered by us unfortunately did not take place
Rooms extremely clairvoyant Children overflowed from 7.00 am on Saturday or TV could be heard next to them
Long distances inadequate signage to the underground car park
Cooperation average motivated except the gentleman at the bar could already on the second day the drinks had paid attention to special features, he deserves a high praise

The hotel was already known to us from a previous trip and remained well remembered. Unfortunately, we were disappointed across the board. The room was very small, the lights installed immediately on the bed on the left and right disturbing, a socket was loose. The joints in the bathroom were stained and visually mouldy. There was no music system, the TV was not smart. The room door and also the door to the bathroom close very loudly. The dog could not be taken to dinner, even in a separate area near the restaurant. The obligatory New Year's buffet for a whopping €75 per person resembled a residual utilization (pumpkin and red cabbage for New Year's Day, the sauce was just fat, the ducks seemed to be left over from Christmas dinner) and was heavy in our stomachs, I had stomach cramps for a day and my wife for two days.

We stayed at Das Tegernsee for 4 nights after our wedding in August 2023.

The positives first: The location, the design and, above all, the service are fantastic. There is little to say about the location, hardly any other hotel can compete with the view over Lake Tegernsee. The design of our suite in the Sengerschloss was also very nice, bright and modern. The breakfast and the service team at breakfast in particular were hard to beat. By the second day they already knew our room number and coffee preferences. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. We would give this hotel 6 stars if we could.

We also thought the bike rental was great. The prices were absolutely reasonable and the bikes were high quality and in very good condition. Helmet and lock were included.

What surprised us were the bathroom in our suite and the spa. While the suite itself was modern, bright and spacious, the bathroom was small, rather outdated and had no shower. The toilet was right behind the door with very little space, the shower was actually in the bathtub. There was no window or underfloor heating. This was a negative surprise for a hotel in this class.

The spa is beautiful in itself and also has a fantastic view. Unfortunately, we were hardly able to enjoy it because children are allowed during the day, the spa is very open and rather small for the size of the hotel, and no attention was paid to quiet. Even in the relaxation room you could hear the children splashing around. The man who had taken his laptop (!) into the relaxation room (!!) and was busy banging away on the keys unfortunately didn't help us relax. Of course the hotel can't do anything for its guests - but thanks to this (and the size and open design) we were unfortunately unable to relax in the spa.

Overall, thanks to the positive aspects mentioned and especially the team, it was still a nice stay - just with a few minor drawbacks.

Basically it is a nice hotel if you book the higher class rooms. We had the cheapest room with a mountain view and were unlucky that there was mowing work going on there on 3 out of 5 days, which was a bit annoying. The bathroom was quite small, the shower leaked, the hairdryer was awkwardly connected to a drawer, which limited freedom of movement. Our room was only accessible via a staircase, the suitcases had to be carried up, but this took a good half hour and we just had to wait. We had booked a wellness package and unfortunately the outdoor pool with bubble loungers was only available to us for 2 days because of repairs, which was also annoying; however, the hotel then accommodated us with the price. The view from the terrace at breakfast and dinner is beautiful; nothing was missing at breakfast, not even gluten-free food! The evening menu was excellent! If we were to book this hotel again, we would have a room facing the lake. Even if the view from above is beautiful, you have to consider the long, steep walk from Tegernsee to the hotel!

Beautiful location, perfect wellness area with ideal indoor and outdoor areas, well-tempered. The high price reflects the high standard of the hotel - everything is spacious, classy, in very good condition. Wonderful room, even for people with dust allergies. Ideal relaxation conditions from the start. No noise, windows can be opened.

After a lovely early summer tour, we treated ourselves to the Tegernsee Hotel.
As the name suggests, the lake and the surrounding area are very beautiful and we were able to go on some exhilarating nature hikes.
The hotel is a little old. Based on the various locations, see spa and breakfast area, it wouldn't hurt to invest.
The staff are mainly foreigners who try very hard, but unfortunately lack understanding and as a result the ordered food did not always end up on the table correctly.
The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and the evening meal was also very good. It took a little long, but it was worth the wait.
Unfortunately, the quiet aspect was not always there due to the loud screaming of the children.
Nevertheless, all in all, the price-performance ratio was there and based on the overall package we will come back.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I booked months ago my Getting Ready, my last night before my wedding, including preparation on the day of the wedding. I have been assured that my godmother will live on the same floor as me, that an iron in the room awaits me, that we can use the savings area from 2 pm and that my hairstylist will be allowed access to my room in the morning. None of this happened. On arrival you first did not fade my name and then crudely asked my brother if he had perhaps booked. Still okay?? Then we were put off with a welcome drink as the room was not ready yet. We couldn't get to the room until 3:20. 1.5 hours of spa time missed. The iron was not suburban even for our suitcases we had to wait another 10 minutes. Then I had a massage appointment during which Evangelia drooled continuously bullshit. I can't describe it any other way. I didn't get the booked detox massage either. She improvised, as she told me afterwards. Still okay?? My godmother was also a stick of ours and somewhere else. When my hairstylist was looking for my room the next morning, aie was first started suspiciously and angrily by a hotel employee, when she then said she had to go to the bride, the receptionist asked "which bride?" When I appeared 2 hours later as a bride in the entrance, they were extremely kind to me and even gave me water for the ride. I am immensely disappointed by my stay at DAS Tegernsee and am actually a little bit ashamed of how this hotel, DAS Tegernsee, has behaved towards me.
