The hotel is fine for one night.

The rooms are clean and well furnished. The condition is also good. The rooms are a little noisy but a room facing the street promises peace and quiet.

Unfortunately the breakfast is very simple and not really tasty (salami was already dried out, rolls were not fresh, juice is made from concentrate with water).

The communication/service of the staff is also not good. We were not informed when we checked in that the restaurant was closed and were not given any recommendations. Nobody cleared the dishes during breakfast. There is a lack of passion and warmth here.

Stayed here for 1 night with my wife while touring South Germany. Everyhting we have experienced was good but nothing special. Rooms are small and the furniture is somewhat outdated. Bathroom is also small but it does the trick.
Breakfast was simple (the restaurant was closed) but again it had all we needed.
So a good stay but nothing special.

Nice hotel in small quiet Spitzingsee. Good rooms (a bit small), clean and tidy.
The location is quiet & central, walking distance to lifts for hiking.
Restaurant / bar on the ground floor with pleasant service and good food.
The breakfast so-so - ordinary.

We were here for a business meeting with a group of 23 people. The meeting room is a bit too small for that, but the meeting could have been held in the larger dance bar.
The location is very nice, 2nd row from the lake. There isn't much to do in Spitzingsee itself, but you didn't need it.
Free parking, very accommodating boss who accommodated our every request. Communication was a bit hampered by language difficulties, but we understood each other.
The breakfast was very plentiful, the standard offering was white sausages, bratwursts, wieners AND meat loaf, along with scrambled eggs and fried vegetables. You don't see such a selection very often.
The dishes in the restaurant were varied and excellent. Delicious special dishes were conjured up for vegans and allergy sufferers.
The rooms were clean, well equipped, and the bathrooms were freshly renovated. Despite that, it retained its alpine charm. A bottle of water was free in the room.
I would book there again.
Above all: During Oktoberfest we only paid around 76 euros for a single room, 106 euros for a double room for single occupancy, and 115 euros for a triple room. The neighbors wanted twice as much!

We'd go back anytime!

We stayed here for three nights and we liked it. It's a cosy hotel, nothing fancy but everything is clean and in good condition ( it reopened 8 months ago), the food is good and well priced. But most important the staff is very friendly and service minded. So no complaints. This is an hotel that you could easily stay at.
Be aware that the hotel in is Spitzingsee and not in Schliersee which 9 km away

My partner and I stayed here before it changed hands and we loved it. Booked it again for a family gathering in July and were deeply disappointed. Unfriendly staff who couldn't care less. In each of the 5 bedrooms at least one thing was broken. In one of the rooms the bed was even broken. Despite them having a lovely terrace we couldn't use it because it was closed till 6. We had to go to a different venue for drinks because of it. Never bothered to go back for dinner as staff too unfriendly. breakfast buffet was alright but no tables were set. No staff to be seen. I am definitely wouldn't go back till it has changed hands again. There are plenty of nice and friendly places in Spitzingsee, which is a lovely location.

I have just returned from a stay in beautiful Spitzingsee. This hotel is clean, in a good location and the New Years Eve meal was excellent. It is a pity that the stsyvwas spoiled by the totally indifferent attitude of the owner!! No communication skills at all. We arrived at about 7pm and couldn't find anyone to help us. My single room had been forgotten. There were five of us and none of our rooms were together regardless of the fact that this booking had been made in August.
My room was not serviced on the first day and on the next day they cleaned but didn't bother to make the bed!
Breakfast was ok but there was only one person on duty who had to check out people, keep the supplies at breakfast sorted and clear up!! Clearly the management are saving money by having as few staff as possible. Not a good way to run a hotel.
We wanted to check out at 8.30am and were told that check out started at 9am. Really??? When we did get checked out there was no dialogue at all. No thank you fir your custom, have a safe journey etc. I think customers were just a nuisance that had to be borne to make money.
Will I return to Spitzingsee? Absolutely but I will not be staying at this hotel.

I was guest at Gundl Alm this past weekend: a colleague and I were in the area the following week for a conference and we decided to take an extra two days to ski at the Spitzingsee ski resort. The hotel is comfortable, very good value for money and is located only one step away from the ski resort. This is a quiet little village, don't expect lots of après skiing, but it is perfect if all you wish to do is to get out "of it all". The hotel is warm, very clean, showers are brand new (at least in the rooms we occupied), excellent variety at breakfast and staff is friendly, although not everybody could speak English. Still they respond their emails very quickly and booking was flawless! I do go to Munich for work sometimes, so I am looking forward to possible other opportunities to get a weekend out here again. The hotel is also a step away from anything else in town, including a large spa in the hotel nearby, an extremely friendly rental shop (Ingo) and the best "hutte" in the area. Can't find any fault! The hotel also has a sauna (although I didn't use it) and a storage for skis and boots. Very happy of our outing.

My 2nd time here, and defo not the last. Excellent and friendly service once again at this wonderful Hotel.

The food is second to none and the karma is positive and welcoming.

We were always just 90 minutes away from Austria, 60 minutes away from Salzburg and 30 minutes from Munich centre

"If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back of the building as there is a club which becomes a bit busy on the weekends. My colleague apparently heard some few people coming out from the club in the morning of Sunday, but to be honest I didn't hear anything, probably too tired from the full day of skiing."
