The rooms are clean and well furnished. The condition is also good. The rooms are a little noisy but a room facing the street promises peace and quiet.
Unfortunately the breakfast is very simple and not really tasty (salami was already dried out, rolls were not fresh, juice is made from concentrate with water).
The communication/service of the staff is also not good. We were not informed when we checked in that the restaurant was closed and were not given any recommendations. Nobody cleared the dishes during breakfast. There is a lack of passion and warmth here.
Breakfast was simple (the restaurant was closed) but again it had all we needed.
So a good stay but nothing special.
The location is quiet & central, walking distance to lifts for hiking.
Restaurant / bar on the ground floor with pleasant service and good food.
The breakfast so-so - ordinary.
The location is very nice, 2nd row from the lake. There isn't much to do in Spitzingsee itself, but you didn't need it.
Free parking, very accommodating boss who accommodated our every request. Communication was a bit hampered by language difficulties, but we understood each other.
The breakfast was very plentiful, the standard offering was white sausages, bratwursts, wieners AND meat loaf, along with scrambled eggs and fried vegetables. You don't see such a selection very often.
The dishes in the restaurant were varied and excellent. Delicious special dishes were conjured up for vegans and allergy sufferers.
The rooms were clean, well equipped, and the bathrooms were freshly renovated. Despite that, it retained its alpine charm. A bottle of water was free in the room.
I would book there again.
Above all: During Oktoberfest we only paid around 76 euros for a single room, 106 euros for a double room for single occupancy, and 115 euros for a triple room. The neighbors wanted twice as much!
We'd go back anytime!
Be aware that the hotel in is Spitzingsee and not in Schliersee which 9 km away
My room was not serviced on the first day and on the next day they cleaned but didn't bother to make the bed!
Breakfast was ok but there was only one person on duty who had to check out people, keep the supplies at breakfast sorted and clear up!! Clearly the management are saving money by having as few staff as possible. Not a good way to run a hotel.
We wanted to check out at 8.30am and were told that check out started at 9am. Really??? When we did get checked out there was no dialogue at all. No thank you fir your custom, have a safe journey etc. I think customers were just a nuisance that had to be borne to make money.
Will I return to Spitzingsee? Absolutely but I will not be staying at this hotel.
We will defy be putting this place in our diary next year.
Our son even played with the owners daughter every day.
The food is second to none and the karma is positive and welcoming.
We were always just 90 minutes away from Austria, 60 minutes away from Salzburg and 30 minutes from Munich centre
"If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back of the building as there is a club which becomes a bit busy on the weekends. My colleague apparently heard some few people coming out from the club in the morning of Sunday, but to be honest I didn't hear anything, probably too tired from the full day of skiing."Read full review
