Large hotel with a strange layout, the staff were very pleasant but they have a very strict 3pm check in and since I spend over 100 nights a year in hotels I know this is ridiculous as they were nowhere near full. The room we had was of an average size but very warm at the top of the hotel. The room was clean though and there are 4 drinks in the minibar which are free (beer, Pepsi, water and apple juice) we only drank the water. The bathroom was a good size with a modern nice shower.
A nice and modern hotel in the middle of Bavaria, lots of history around, city with character and open minded people on the street. Very dog friendly and the staff had always a smile for me. We will come back.
Reception was really pleasant. The young lady who welcomed us was very personable and helpful . Good bicycle storage . Room large and pleasant. Bathroom clean and bright . Right on bike trail . Very good breakfast with multiple food choices. Close to several good restaurants.
The hotel is nice in every way. Large spacious clean rooms, friendly staff, nice restaurant and good bar area outside. We arrived with 3 small dogs and the dogs all got a little bag with doggie treats. All in all highly recommendable!
We stayed here during a night stop when driving from London to Austria, and it was a great choice. Kellheim proved to be a good mix of near enough to the motorway not to be completely off the beaten track but still far enough away to be a nice little town. The hotel, despite it's more classic look from the high street, is actually nice and modern. The car park in the back is cheap and the staff were very friendly. The room was nice, though a little more carpet would have been appreciated as the stone/tile was quite cold. The bed was very comfy, the free minibar a lovely plus and it was actually a huge room. The bathroom could do with updating, but to be honest, for the price it's perfectly adequate. Room service was also good, not the worlds most comprehensive menu, but to be frank, the food was fantastic so that's fine. I'd rather have less choice and the food be good than loads of choice and it's all naff. The hotel, part of a chain is actually quite quirky, it doesn't take itself too seriously and that's just fine. It's fun, but still serious in the way only a German hotel chain could be. I usually stay in Hiltons or other US chains, and I do like their predictability and ultra modern design - mostly - but this was a fun change. I'd stay here again.…
