This lovely Gasthaus is part of the Weltenburger Kloster located at the beautiful bend of the Danube. This was our second stay in our way to Italy (only one night). The simple and very clean rooms are spacious with white walls and wooden floors and the bathrooms are modern and renovated not very long time ago. There are nothing extra but still everything you need. The breakfast is in another beautiful building in the Kloster square and the breakfast is very good. In the same square you will find a local Bavarian restaurant with long outside tables. The restaurant offers food until 6 pm. The place turns very quiet once the day visitors leave the Kloster area. The Kloster brewery has been active since 1 050 and you can taste their famous Barock Dunkel beer in the restaurant, There is a possibility to buy several varieties of their beers and take them to home if you wish. There are trekking paths around or you can have a short cruise or rent canoes. but unfortunately we did not have time to try them.…
This is my second stay here. I came last year as well. Everything is perfect. We bought meals with our stay and it was great. The rooms are beautiful. You can walk along the river or hang out at night in the cafeteria and sample their great beer. An amazing value!
The monastery is wonderfully quite early morning and late evening. We had a swim in the Danube watching the gorge whilst nobody else was there. Accommodation is very good and breakfast was excellent. Great place!
Rooms are simple, clean, wonderful. No television or WiFi- but didn’t matter! Refurbished lovely old building. Best handicapped accessible bathroom. Monastery on the Danube River with walkway beside it. Great beer garden outside.
Situated on the bank of Danube river in a very beautiful place. The only problem - restrictions in check-in and check-out times. You have to check-in before 18:00 and check-out also early. Otherwise nearly perfect place to stay. Room was simple, but spacious. Everything well decorated and furnished, with even some luxury. Simple, but decent breakfast. One of best options for overnight stay. The staff is friendly.
