It was late I was tired and found this place online . Not expecting too much I was proven wrong very soon after checking in . The owner saw I was tired and carried my heavy bag up to my room. Needing to go online I was surprised at the fast speed of the Internet. I did not see the 10 am check out the owner said I could take my time. The next morning I went for the continental breakfast hope for coffee and a pastry. To my surprise it was a full German breakfast and a mini buffet! Do not pass this one up ! A great experience with an especially clean and comfortable room 👍

On the way to Croatia, we had a terrible drive from Sweden, two missed ferries, boring weather and a lot of traffic jams all the way on Autobahn. Finally, 400 km from the original planned night stop, the dawn was coming and we had no power left to go further. We turned of for the small village "Bad Brückenau". After some search we hit the square of the village. There we found Hotel zur Krone in a building that has been working as a Gasthof for 673 years (2014)! Friendly and familiar atmosphere, Friday evening with the locals joining their pub situated in the hotel, staff/owner dressed in national costumes, nice rooms (four bed family room) and interior, breakfast as expected in a German Gasthof. A stay here is recommended, value for money and you can't imagine it's nearly 700 years old!
