I've never experienced anything like this - a two bedroom apartment where both en suite bathrooms were open plan - behind clear glass! We made a list of just some of the reasons why this was a STUPENDOUSLY BAD IDEA: 1. who wants to lie in bed staring at a toilet ? 2. who wants to lie in bed staring at someone on the toilet? 3. assumptions that this is OK for the guests - I holiday with my sister, husband, child, cousin. This is not OK - I asked them all. 4. worried someone would walk into the glass in the middle of the night. 5. Leave a bathroom light on at night to mitigate (4) and then have to deal with (1). 6. having to close all the bedroom curtains and lock the bedroom door every time someone needed the toilet (did I mention the deck also overlooked the open plan bathroom and toilet). 7. as above with showering 🚿 The apartment had wow factor, but after a little while (minutes not days) it became apparent that the chairs and sofas were tired and seated, there wasn't a dimmer switch for the intense chandelier, the roller blinds were so tedious to close they didn't get opened again. If open plan toilets are a design feature, then the description should lead with that so I could have chosen to go elsewhere.

To say faultless is an understatement. We stayed at the Red Row facilities just up from the pub itself, what a stunning place. The finish from the exterior hanging baskets to the flow of the room is just perfect. They take upon the rustic wooden approach with furnishings and decorative features, combined with modern accessories such as brilliant WiFi, modern coffee pod machine, a smart TV and electric blinds. Working in construction I can tell they have taken time and strived for quality first, then quantity. The 2 are well aligned at the Red Row cottages. We will certainly be returning.

Myself and two family members dined at the restaurant today (18th july) for sunday lunch and we have all left extremely disappointed. The food was OK, not to usual standard. Sticky toffee puddings were cold on arrival had to ask for more vegetables as one portion wasnt enough between 3 adults. The service was the worst customer service we have received in many years in any restaurant! We were greeted by a lovely polite blonde lady and shown to our table but our waitress was terrible, i think her name was Amy, she rolled her eyes at us when taking our order? Didnt say please or thank you once, no manners at all. Really bad attitude, she cleared our plates from main course and didnt even offer us deserts? Didnt ask if we would like anything else? We had to try catch the attention of someone else. Asked for a extra drink and waited a extremely long time - had to chase that up with someone else also. She seemed really uninterested in serving us and quite frankly looked hungover and couldnt be bothered! Nobody bothered to ask if the food was ok? As we were leaving nobody even bothered to say goodbye and could hear the chefs and waitresses argueing at the food pass, so unprofessional. We have ate a lot at the restaurant and it is always our first choice to go for sunday lunch but after today sadly we have all been put off returning. We obviously could see there was a wedding today but i dont think that should then make the service in restaurant any different. I emailed the black horse this message not so much as a acknowledgment

We stayed in the cottage. It's beautiful! We came for my brother's wedding and decided to stay 2 nights. The views are amazing and the cottage has so much potential. However we were told that the rooms get deep cleaned obviously due to COVID. however our cottage looked like it had never been deep cleaned and there are definitely a few oversights and things that need fixing. Because we stayed in the cottage at the bottom of the hill we knew there would be some spiders and fly's and thing but there was at least one dead fly on EVERY windowsill and about 10 in the conservatory. 2 of the chairs were broken, the lamp in the bedroom didn't work. There were cobwebs in various rooms. The thermostat in one of the bedrooms were broken and no clear instructions on how to work them either just a quifance of where they were in the property. The toilet roll holder was broken but still left in the bathroom. And no blinds in the kitchen, made us feel uneasy on a night. We had WiFi and a password but it didn't work. And under the settee looks like it hasn't even been swept in a long time! I just feel like it's unacceptable especially with COVID. The property has sooo much potential to be amazing! But when you spend that much money you expect it to be at least clean. The staff that we met were amazing though and just lovely people. The chef was amazing. The wedding breakfast was unreal. That sticky toffee pudding was beautiful and he was lovely. I do need to give a shoutout to Anne. She is one of the nicest ladies I've met and just amazing especially throughout the wedding, she made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
