We just got home and miss the people and facilities at Captain Kirk's. Kirk and Kitty are wonderful and Adam was the best Kite instructor! Patient and safety minded and very kind. We also had fun with the other guests and will stay in touch with many of them. There is a communal

I am giving Capt Kirks a 'very good' given that i was in Mexico. I was pleased with the overall layout of the property and the Casa. Plenty of room in the unit and pretty well equipped, that said other than looking for a bottle opener i didn't set foot in the kitchen. A/C

Sorry about the problems with the internet, we actually have a very high end WiFi system from Cisco/Meraki but the main Telmex line is frequently a problem (for everyone here) when La Ventana gets busy. It works much better during off peak times, but is typically a challenge during the peak times during the season. Fyi, neighbors from 1/4 mile away say our WiFi signal is the strongest, but that doesn't help when the whole system in Baja Sur is overloaded. One of our favorite sayings here is "the only that is consistent in Mexico is the inconsistency."

Captain Kirk's is a perfect spot to stay while in La Ventana. We love the tranquility here. In addition to a great view, the quiet location is incredibly relaxing. The casas are perfect and designed with a simple and tasteful aesthetic and the landscaping is beautiful. Its also

We have stayed at Captain Kirks for many years. It's like a home away from home because of Kitty and Kirk. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The staff are also very friendly and every time we go there are always many new improvements made to further the

Sorry to have taken so long to answer, I rarely look at this site - yes all units have A/C, but we are only open from late October until the end of April.

Looking for 2 rooms for Saturday Jan 28 just for one night
Hi- We rented a car and drove from SJD to La Ventana. It took two hours and it got dark on the last half of the drive. The roads weren't as bad as the guide books make out, since they've been repaved in the past few years. We saw very few cars on the drive. I should mention that we discovered that we didn't really "need" the car while we were at La Ventana, since we were kiting (not sight-seeing, plus not many sights) and then you can walk to most places from Kirk's to eat out. We used it to drive around on a non-wind day and checked out the hot springs and the beach at the abandoned hotel. (Ask a local about that while when you'e there.) I'd recommend asking whomever you're staying with about a car service/taxi or if you can double up with any arriving renters. Alternatively, you can fly from SJD to LaPaz and it's a shorter drive/taxi from there. The taxis from SJD to LV are a bit expensive so you can weigh that vs. car rental and how much you may think you'll need it.

Yes, in the morning the water is flat like a big lake, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

"We love Buena Vista casita, but they each have their own wonderful personality."
"Some have kitchens, some don't. All are nice."
"There are no bad rooms."
"Every room is probably great - my casitas was the farthest up the hill from the beach, and still it felt close and all was great, so probably the casitas even closer to the beach are even better - so, it seems like you can't go wrong with any room you get here! All rooms seemed quiet and gorgeous."
"At Baja Midnight the place is quiet! Good for families with a great beach , awesome breakfasts served and catering available"
