DO NOT GO THERE! We booked this establishment over 3 months ago and neither RoomsforAfricanor nor this dreadful place have been accurate in their advertising. There was no such thing as breakfast provided, the room had old, mismatched furniture, bedding was unironed and did not match- a red sheet, purple and white pillow cases, an old white duvet cover and a very thin old duvet- most definitely not what we had seen on the website or booked. We insisted on newer bedding and bedside lamps. No provision, except a single, tiny battery lamp in the room, was made for power cuts. We had to fumble our way up a dark driveway, into a front door and into our room with no lighting. People next door smoked in the room, which came through into ours. They were noisy and I was screamed at and called a "b #%^ ch" when on both nights I politely asked them to tone the noise down. We were charged R100 extra pppn more than the other "guests." We made our requests clear from the time of booking as per the booking site. Shortly before our arrival we were told they were redecorating, the bed or decor would not be as booked and they said we could have a double bed and a 3/4 instead, which we refused and no offer of refund was given. We arrived to find someone in the house, in pyjamas at 2.30pm, tolerated 2 nights and Natalie, the person running the place, suggested another place of her friend's to stay at, but said that she couldn't refund us our money because RoomsforAfrica had taken it all, because they charged 35% commission on the total amount and hadn't given her the balance. She told us she had contacted RoomsforAfrica and they refused to give a refund of our money. We paid a deposit of R3300 for a 10 day stay of R6600. We have come from Scotland to an International event and find this misrepresentation of advertising and treatment of International tourists disgusting. We have proof of deposit payment, copies of all emails and have had no response to 2 emails sent to RoomsforAfrica. Both this establishment, that has a 3 Star plaque on the door, and RoomsforAfrica have a legal obligation for fair trading standards and accurate representation of services paid for. We will be writing to the Minister of Touism, the Tourist board, SARS and any other board that someone can suggest, making a formal complaint and requesting a full review of this place and a refund of our money. If this is what treatment of tourists to SA has come to, we will not be coming back.

On arrival we were greeted and shown to our rooms in a friendly and warm manner. The room was clean, tidy and appealing. Coffee, tea and fresh milk completed the tour. The bed was comfortable with enough blankets to warm up the KZN evening that it was. The downside was the lack of soap and shampoo facilities. Also, we were disappointed at the lack of breakfast (the venue is advertised as a B&B.) TV channel coverage was limited. Would recommend that a local News Channel be programed into the viewing bouquet. Otherwise the stay was pleasant and comfortable.
