Warm, caring service which created serenity and peace, in unpretentious and comfortable accommodation. Set in large grounds, with beautiful forest-like setting and lush gardens, all creating a very relaxed atmosphere. Delicious breakfast, kind hospitality from the owner, Trevor and friendly, well-behaved dogs will definitely warrant a return visit to this oasis in a convenient location.

Without a doubt the best hosts we have EVER stayed with!!! Every single tiny detail is carefully considered! Both Trevor & Andrea go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and they are so very knowledgeable about so many aspects of their area, nature, SA and are so well traveled that you will be entertained for hours. Their pets become your very own. Such an incredible few days spent in luxury! Trevor is an amazing chef considering all your dietary preferences. 5 Star plus experience without breaking the bank!

Had the most wonderful stay at Cybele Lodge. The breakfasts and diner were AWESOME . The rooms homely and bed super comfortable. Hosts Trevor and Andrea went out of there way to make us welcome and we had many hours of chatting and shared many laughs together. Can't wait to go back to this hidden gem amongst the trees to hear the bush babies call at night

I have been several times at this wonderful B&B and each time I fall more in love with it.
Trevor makes every day a special day and his place and his tours are super super super !!! His food is extraordinary and his knowledge about land, people and the bush is huge.
I love this place - I love the people and I will come back many times, that’s for sure

Cybele Lodge is a very nice B&B, and the owners were extremely nice and helpful. Accommodations were excellent, although our room only had a curtain separating bathroom from bedroom. It should have a door. Food was excellent. Two issues are that as helpful as the hosts were, we often felt chaperoned. They kept a close eye on us almost all the time, and that was emphasized when late in the evening we were warned that the internal security system would be on, and were weren't allowed out of our rooms! That's a bit much. Also we were informed upon departure that they only accept cash. The pointed out that it was on their website, but we didn't book through their website, and so never saw it. That left us scrambling to find enough cash, since carrying large amounts in SA is not a good idea. These folks are new at the game, and certainly their attitude, food, and accommodation are a great start, but that is the reason for 2 points off.

Mark, Thank you for your feedback, we do hope you had a pleasant stay. We and Booking.com, do notify all of our guests as to which payments are accepted, at the time of booking. We do hope this was not a major inconvenience. Claire and I like to consider our hosting as attentive, and we do hope to see you on further trips to South Africa, and will obviously accomodate in you Makarganga suite, which has several doors. Our food is a feature of our BNB, and we are glad that you found it to be enjoyable. We alarm the property only from 11pm-6am, for your and our safety. This is common practise in South Africa. Trevor

I'm french and came live 3 months in South Africa, my trip was so much better than it would be thanks to Trevor and Claire !
We spend a lot of adventures together - Zulu village, Hluhluwe game reserve, Shark swimming, beaches, microlight ...
Also, I spend time in their beautiful and quiet house, where everything is on point, confort is so good, and food is the best !
Spend time in Cybele lodge is create a lot of good memories, we can't know people more kind and generous than Trevor and Claire !

We found this B&B quite by accident on a brief trip through Durban and glad we did. The communication with our hosts started before we arrived and they were on hand to greet us with a welcome glass of sherry. We enjoyed our brief stay and particularly the connection that the owners of Cybele have with nature and the environment. We connected immediately with them and the wonderful sounds of the gorge which surround you in the morning and evening. This is a relatively new facility and they deserve to be supported. It is suitable to use as a base to explore the area and especially if you enjoy nature and a comfortable, homely stay.

Amazing stay in a beautiful quiet serene setting, perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Andrea is the friendliest, most amazing host and our daily breakfast exceeded restaurant quality! The yogurt was exceptional! We really had a wonderful time here and can't wait to be back! Highly recommend to all!
Thank you Andrea and Trevor for your amazing hospitality, we will see you soon:-)
