Nestled in a prime location with convenient ski-in/out access, Hôtel Village Montana is celebrated for its comfortable and spacious rooms, though a handful of guests have expressed concerns regarding noise and maintenance. While the hotel's cleanliness garners positive remarks for contributing to the cozy ambiance, opinions on value are mixed, with some travelers feeling that the cost outweighs the benefits, particularly noting the additional fees for amenities.
Service quality at the hotel varies, with reports of both welcoming and less attentive encounters.

Detailed Reviews
Our party of 8 adults stayed in one of the apartments in Chalet Airelles. The chalet had 1 double room, 2 twins and a bunk room, 1 bathroom with toilet, 1 en suite shower, 1 en suite bathroom with toilet & shower, a bathroom with toilet and spa bath, a separate toilet and finally a 2 person sauna. The kitchen was well equipped adequate for catering for 8 - fridge, freezer, oven, hob, coffee maker (permanent filter so didn’t need papers) kettle, plenty of crockery and sharp knives.
The apartment is 10 mins walk to the centre of Tignes Le Lac with two chair lifts up the mountain and bars and restaurants and shops. We had a Spar supermarket in the same building as our apartment and it was open from 7am until 8pm including New Year’s Day, very useful for fresh croissants etc for breakfast and was so convenient we used it as our food cupboard!
Our return transfer was mid afternoon so after checking out at 10 we spent the time before collection in the hotel spa (free) and stored our luggage in the hotel.
We were a little anxious that after many years of staying in catered chalets, self catering wouldn’t suit us, but the well equipped chalet, convenient food shopping, price difference to catered (about £250/ person for the week) and flexibility means we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
A few points, the boot room is small and gets easily congested, but if you grab your skis etc. you can use the foyer to get ready. Only having 2 keys between 8 people was inconvenient, take some ‘over door hooks’ for hanging salopettes etc. on and the Wi-fi was unreliable.
All 8 in the party would go back.

lovely friendly hotel right on the slopes at Tignes. Ski in and ski out down to the Ames or Paradour lift. Hotel staff were very friendly, showed us around the hotel when we first arrived. The lift system can be a little confusing and there are a lot of doors and corridors but once you get the hang of the layout its fine. The swimming pool is small and we managed to use it twice other times it seemed to be very busy and its not big enough for a lot of people. There are also 2 saunas, steam room and hot tub Pool was however very warm as you would expect and novel to be outside whilst it was snowing. The room was big, spacious clean and very warm but at least you can turn the rads down! There was plenty of drawers, wardrobes etc to hang and store things. Ours had a small balcony overlooking the pool. Bathroom was great with separate shower and bath only thing missing in my opinion is a small magnifying mirror. You are also given your own lockable ski locker for your stay which i believe they heat overnight to dry your equipment. We stayed half board breakfast was plentiful, hot and cold items, fruit, cheese, cakes etc and filled up in good time. I think they could do with another coffee machine as the 2 available were always busy. Evening meal was 5 courses, soup, then 2 choices for starter and main then multiple desserts and cheese. The food is lovely and its difficult to cater for a lot of people so it wasn't always to our taste but you can choose to go to the other restaurant available in the hotel as long as you book it. We actually went 3 times for the more traditional Savoyard food ie fondue and raclette. Drinks prices are a little steep but i haven't really been to any hotel where the prices are cheap and you do get a few nibbles. Overall its definately a hotel we would go back to without hesitation.

I had a comfortable stay at the Hotel Village Montana, where I found the room allocated to be much more generously sized than many that I've stayed in the alps before. The staff were helpful, particularly so in the restaurant. The food was overall very good, although the odd course did disappoint during the week, soo not quite top marks on that. There are multiple dining options at the hotel, so you don't have to stick to the main dining room all the time.
The hotel is well located for skiing with easy access into the slopes. The ski lockers are large and the boot driers work well (important considerations for avid skiers).
I didn't use the spa, so can't comment on that. I would stay at the hotel again for sure though.

We loved Montana Chalet Airelles and would recommend it!
The location was superb being practically ski in/ski out. You either did a small traverse to come down right at the building or walked 100 metres down the road to the restaurant where you could access Skilift Almes direcly. The Spar mini-supermakrye was downstairs so if you were cooking for yourselves (as we like to do), you could nip down to get some ingredients so easily. Intersport ski shop was across the road. It was 2 mins walk to the Maison de Tignes (main lift area).
The apartment was super and, as others have said, it is ideal for 6 people but could be a little but too small for 8 people. It had three good sized bedrooms, all en suite with shower and basin. Plus a small bunk room which is only really suitable for kids (there was no cupboard space there). There was also a main bathroom with a spa bath as well as two separate loos. One of the bedrooms was larger and slightly smarter than the others (full bathroom with toilet) so two couples with kids would have to decide which couple had the better bedroom.
Small things:
Kitchen is well equipped but small and so only really suitable for one person using it at a time. But we cooked 6 out of 7 nights and it was fine
The sitting capacity is really only ideal for 5 or 6 people. I think they should add another sofa or at least one more comfy chair to increase the sitting capacity. There is more than enough space!
Sauna and Spa
We used the in-apartment sauna 3 times and enjoyed it very much. We also walked up the hill to the main hotel to use the main spa facilities which we also really liked. (At least it was downhill on the way back!) We like having access to spa facilities when in an apartment and this was one of the attractions of Chalet Airelles.
Thanks so much for a perfect stay! all the best Kate

We had a brilliant stay at Hotel Village Montana; we were four adults on a week’s skiing holiday January 2020 half board (booking through tour operator). The rooms were very comfortable with balconies and great views. The food was fantastic especially the evening meals with great variety throughout the week. The Bar area offers a very nice environment to relax with open fire and options to watch TV and play pool. The Staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive. The hotel is well located for the slopes and only a short walk to the town. The spa and outdoor pool made the stay even better when returning from the slopes. This was our first time staying in Village Montana accommodation; we look forward to returning here and also exploring their offerings in other resorts.

The staff at Village Montana were friendly, polite, and spoke very good English. The hotel itself was in a good location for lots of slopes, restaurants and local amenities. The room was clean and tidy though as we had booked self-catering an oven would have been useful beyond the hob and microwave provided, though as we ate out most nights this wasn't a major issue.
For a family of 3 both bedrooms had twin beds, where a double in one of the rooms would have been preferable.
The locker room for skis was easily accessed and all lockers had locks that used the room key, which was very helpful. Access to the first slope was up a single flight of steps from the locker room so no big issues for slope access and the slope itself led straight down to several lifts including the gondola for access to the Val d'Isere slopes.
All told I was happy with our family stay in Village Montana and would only request one or two minor changes e.g. a double bed, if I came again on another visit to Tignes Le Lac.

Travelled with crystal and arrived around 3pm our room wasn’t ready so along with many other we hung around the reception where welcome drinks and snacks were provided. Decided to collect our ski hire gear whilst waiting and reception did give us the key for our locker. Finally (after 5pm) room ready, after a mix up with rooms we ended up in V15 which is slightly in front of the main hotel reception. Booked a two bedroom room for six people. So two twin rooms, one bathroom, sofa bed for two and small kitchenette, with dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, hob, microwave, toaster, coffee percolator and found a blender in the cupboard too. A small multi oven type thing was also there but only really any good for toasting things, we tried to cook some chips once and it took well over an hour for them to look defrosted! All clean and serviceable. Six dishwasher tablets and a small bottle of washing up liquid, sponge, cloth and tea towel also provided. Three toilet rolls.
Plenty of crockery and cutlery etc also. The balcony on our room was very small, not even the two chairs provided would fit on. Good heating. TV had no English channels but you could change to language from French if it was a uk/USA film/series.
Beds were hard but generally okay. Vacuum in the cupboard also. Used the spa once it’s was €15 for apartment guests and although not much changing room area it was nice with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and outside pool. Ample showers and drinking water provided. Didn’t eat in the hotel or use bar. Bar has pool table, table football games etc. located near the Almes lift, and was skiable (depending on which block you are in) or walkable even in ski boots. Heated ski locker room was very warm and boots always dry for the next day on the slopes. Just about fit six ski sets in the one locker.
All in all good accommodation in a good location.

A good hotel in a good location. However, it could be better, internet poor, key cards often fail, rooms could be warmer, food sometimes lets it down. Unquestionably expensive, but probably this represents it being up a mountain in a wonderful ski resort. Great Gym and Spa.

Love this hotel and totally recommend it. This was our second stay and we will return.
Staff excellent and so helpful.
So convenient to be able to purchase ski passes from reception.
Great location - ski in ski out and very close to main lifts. Easy access for novice and experienced skiers.
Rooms well laid out with plenty of storage. Bunk beds for children cleverly separated from parents' section with a door in between. Rooms cleaned well and towels restocked frequently.
Only niggle is that room got very hot at night so we had to sleep with the balcony door open.
Plenty of choice at breakfast which was self service / buffet style.
Dinner in main restaurant was quite limited / similar each night but quality was fine. Children's menu was the same each night - could have done with a little more variety and more vegetables! Cheese and dessert buffet superb. More dessert options for children would have been appreciated though (ice creams, toppings etc).
La Chaumiere, the Savoyard / fondue restaurant attached to the hotel and open to half board residents at no extra cost, was excellent. Great atmosphere and service and so nice to have a choice of restaurant to eat in.
On site ski shop - wonderful and hugely helpful staff who didn't seem to mind when most of us changed boots mid way through the week. They even recommended a change in skis when the conditions changed. So convenient to have this in the hotel, right next to the boot room.
The children loved the swimming pool.
Everyone friendly and welcoming. Good value.

The Montana chalet in Tignes Le Lac is NOT a traditional chalet, instead it is a collection of roomsinside a bigger appertment block. Nevertheless it has a lot going for it. There are spacious communial areas and the piste is literally just around the corner, albeit up a steep snow bank (other access is available). There is a Spa shop next to the entrance and Bars and Restaurants are nearby. So far, so good, but the big let down though is the size of the bedrooms and their lack of storage facilities. Room size is compromised in some cases by an en-suite shower and wash basin installation. These do not have a door on them, so hot showers steam the rooms up and the towel rail makes the rooms very hot overnight. This problem is exacerbated by some rooms not having an opening window and the extractor fans being inadequate. With careful mamangent you can put up with this for a week, but overall, I would rather not.

Yes in the bathrooms of the apartment we stayed in
Dear Tracy,
Indeed, in the apartment, you will find a kettle, toaster, oven, electric coffee maker ...
There is a kitchen kit which is provided on arrival with: Tea towel, bag inside (1 sponge, a few dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid)
On the other hand, at the end of the stay, cleaning is included, excluding the kitchen area. However, no product is provided, except vacuum cleaner which is in the apartment.
We do not provide a mop from a hygienic point of view.
I hope I answered your questions and we are available for more information.
