Our arrival was delayed for a day by Storm Ciara but nothing phases Christine and all of our arrival provision was re-organised from airport transfers to ski collection so we were swiftly on the slopes the next morning complete with high quality skis. Our room was exceptionally spacious with a balcony and mountain views and the super-king sized bed was really comfortable. Our bathroom was equally roomy with a rain dance shower and separate bath. The lovely toiletries provided even included lip balms. Afternoon tea was served in fine china tea cups and the carrot cake was particularly good as well as the delicious coffee cake, decorated with candles, that was presented to my husband on his birthday. Our pre-dinner canapés in the lounge by the fire were really convivial and it was lovely to have Christine’s company on many occasions, too. She was always on hand to advise us regarding the best skiing and to ensure our drinks were kept topped up at all times. Max, a super chilled, placid dog was a great companion, too, and thoroughly enjoyed being treated to walks by another guest. Dinner was generally served by Emma and cooked by the ever cheerful Carly who clearly enjoyed creating delicious dishes. The curry buffet evening was one of the highlights but it is difficult to single out any one meal as all were very enjoyable. The village has a wonderful character and we would recommend a trip to the specialist cheese shop, the micro brewery and Jackys on the host’s night off. It was the first time we had been on a skiing holiday in a catered chalet where we didn’t know any other guests and we felt extremely well looked after. Christine hosted each evening and skilfully kept everything flowing - service, wine and conversation to ensure our holiday experience was relaxing and enjoyable to the end.

We have just returned home from a fantastic week at La Ferme du Chateau. We were a challenging group from the start with a range of abilities, 4 children and various dietry requirements, however Christine and Desiree could not have done enough for us. We arrived late in the evening to a delicious light supper and Christine had arranged all lift passes, ski lessons and ski hire for us. The chalet is fantastic with large and spacious rooms and only a short walk from the nearest slopes. There were 14 of us in the group and Christine ran us around in her minivan all week long dropping us off and picking us up at various places. Breakfast was fantastic with cereals, fruit, croissants, yoghurt and a hot option each morning and we arrived home each afternoon to tea and cake. Evening meals were outstanding with canapes before dinner, 3 courses and then cheese to finish and unlimited wine and beer The children ate earlier and Christine cooked fresh, healthy meals for them as well. The hot tub is a nice touch and us girls all enjoyed ourselves drinking prosecco in the bubbles! We all had a brilliant time and I would highly recommend this chalet.

I cannot recommend this ski chalet enough! We travelled as a party of 14, 10 adults and 4 children and as such took over the whole chalet. The chalet is beautiful, very traditional in style and with huge bedrooms and living spaces. Everything was clean, comfortable and well thought out. Christine owns and runs the chalet and provides great hospitality. She is supported by Desiree who is also very helpful to all. As a team they really do take care of their guests. The food was excellent, a great breakfast selection, afternoon tea and cakes and a 3 course meal with a cheese board to end the meal. Dietary requirements are catered for well as are early meal sittings for the children. We didn't arrive to the chalet on the first night until around 9pm and Christine had created a wonderful spread of homemade quiche, salad and meats. The chalet has a hot tub which is lovely after a tough day on the slopes and a sweet placid dog called Max, who the children loved to bits. Christine organised our ski hire, lessons and passes before arrival and offers the best in resort mini bus service I have ever experienced, taking us to different ski locations and collecting us during/at the end of the day. The resort of La Chapelle D'Abdondance itself is lovely - a small French village as opposed to a ski resort. It is well positioned to reach all parts of the Porte Du Soleil ski area and the skiing is excellent. There is also a lovely cheese shop about 5 mins walk from the chalet which I can recommend! We had an excellent week at the chalet and very much intend to visit again!

If you are looking for the most relaxing chalet, with large beautiful rooms and the most stunning living space, gorgeous views and outstanding food then this is the place to go! Christine (and Max) are the perfect hosts. If chalet holidays hosted by gap year students isn’t for you, then this is the place to go...Christine produces the most amazing meals every evening ... there is no such thing as a “set menu” here! Venison, scallops, home made Jerusalem artichoke soup... How many people can deliver 16 perfect soufflés without getting stressed? Christine can! No one has served better canapés, cakes and home made tarts, let alone a perfect proper English cooked breakfast each morning...Each evening also delivered the most generous cheeseboard of local cheeses... nothing from Super U or Casino in this Chalet, all local and complimented with perfect wines. I nearly forgot to mention the home made quince chutney! A beautiful finishing touch to the table each night was candles, different coloured napkins and place mats each night, and sparking decorations (thank you Desiree!). At breakfast time a country table cloth and country jam pots (and soft butter!). Another highlight at tea time BONE CHINA CUPS AND SAUCERS! And silver cake forks! Who could honestly ask for more.... At the end of the day if you need to walk off a few calories, then Chappelle d’Abondance is perfect and Max is always very happy to join you on a walk down to the stream.... a truly authentic mountain village. Thank you for yet another perfect week Christine, see you next year!

La Ferme du Chateau is an amazing Chalet !! Christine is a great cook and all the food, wine and cheese was excellent as well as the afternoon tea on return from a day on the slopes. All the meals were home made, beautifully planned and so so delicious as was the wine! The chalet is located in a little village with a few hotels / restaurants - from this base you can ski a vast region including into Swiss resorts and Avoriaz and Morzine. After a week on the slopes, there were still so many places and runs which we still hadn't discovered. The chalet itself is beautifully renovated and the rooms are large and nicely furnished. There is a log fire and large dining table for all the chalet guests. This was my first time in a chalet but we stayed with some lovely people who made the holiday extra enjoyable (you just wouldn't get the same interaction and rapport with guests and staff in a hotel). The chalet was always clean and tidy whilst Max the dog was a real hit with all the guests - even non dog fans!. Christine really is the perfect host and ensured everyone was taken to the slopes, ski hire shop, into Chatel, had transfers, lifts passes etc which made the trip so easy for all guests. Thanks Christine and Desireee for all the help with trip. We had a really great time and see you again soon. Best Wishes Kate
