I have to admit at the beginning we were a bit nervous with the hotel as we booked through Crystal ski and did not know ehat to expect for such a reasonable price on Half Board but even though it's a fairly old fashioned hotel (access to the room is being done with a physical key), everything was great! All staff members were really nice, went above and beyond to make our stay a lovely one. The food was fabulous every single night and from someone that works in the same industry, and for them having a set menu every night, I am aware of how difficult it is to satisfy everyone's taste, but they actually nailed it! Food was amazing every single night and before they brought it over they always checked to make sure you can eat everything that is part of the set menu. If you couldn't (due to allergy or any other reason) they would offer you an alternative or work around your way. Breakfast was alright, more of a continental style but I think everyone could find something that they can eat before they head for the slopes (their fresh baguettes and croissants are really nice). Housekeeping was very well organized and NEVER woke us up or knocked on our door like in most hotels happens which was really nice and not to mention the room was really clean. We asked for a quiet room as well which they made sure we got and it was very much appreciated, so for everyone at Hotel Amelie - you guys can teach loads of Branded hotels how hospitality should be done. Keep up the great work!

Last Week Jan 2020, solo snowboarder.
Most importantly Happy Hour is 4-6 :) on 1825 beer only served by friendly staff.
Fast check-in only had to wait 15 mins for room, others had to wait longer but we did arrive before 12.
Clean warm rooms with warm water, maid services everyday.
No Full English breakfast, continental only.
Set menu each day but food was good.
As a non fish eater on they swapped the salmon for beef and a fish starter for something else I cannot remember the name of.
6 seat lift 5 mins walk up the hill
Lift take around 1/2 an hour to take you to Meribel, never had to wait long. 2 stations from top to bottom which you dont have to get out on You can ski back too both stations on a blue and red (conditions permitting) which saves time on way back.
Last lift back is five getting to to bottom at 5:30.
Ski lockers located at the hotel but also lockers in ski lift (extra cost) up the hill for those who dont want to walk up the hill in boots.

Being greeted at the hotel by a very friendly gentleman got my latest ski adventure off to a great start. Allocated room 306 which was very spacious and overlooked the stream at the front of the hotel. It was a lot better than I expected for a 3 star hotel and I was very pleasantly surprised.
Breakfast was the traditional continental affair, very nice coffee, selection of cereals, French bread, cheese ham etc. I always arrived early to catch the first gondola up the mountain and was always welcomed by a friendly waitress.
Leave the hotel and it’s an easy five-minute stroll up a steep hill to the gondola (I rented my skis at the gondola ski shop and left them there, so I had no struggles with skis). Never had to queue and then a 25-minute ride to the centre of Meribel.
After a hard days Skiing back to the hotel for an après ski glass of vino, then a quick shower, kip and down to dinner. The dinner menu is fixed each evening, but you are able to change your choice if you ask before 10:00 at reception. I did ask for a chicken breast on one day as I’m not a fan of spare ribs.
The food is plentiful and very well cooked. Get yourself a bottle of their Gammy and they will look after the bottle until you finish it.
Waitresses and Waiters are very attentive and friendly and quite happy to get you more bread etc.
The hotel (and Bride Les Bain) was very quiet, with the hotel bar welcoming and warm there was no need to venture out.
Final day at the hotel they give you a packed breakfast for the bus journey back to the airport (early start).
Only one problem is my room smelled strongly of cigarettes, it disappeared during the week and I couldn’t complain as it was such a nice room.
So overall an excellent hotel and very good value for money, friendly helpful staff and great food. I hope to return next year.

I've just returned feom a fabulous week staying at Amelie Hotel in Brides les Bains. Having not stayed that low in 3 Vallees ski area before, i wasn't too sure how the circa 25 minute gondola lift would work upto Meribel, as I've always stayed in a main resort. The hotel is less the a 5 minute walk up a hill to the Olympic Gandola. The hill was a shock on the first day, but after that it was not an issue. A nice warm up or cool down before / after a day on the slopes. We were lucky to grab a locker in the hotel, for a €20 deposit and it hold two sets if skis and boots. There were lockers at the gondola though.
By the time the end of the day came, there's a happy hour slot in the hotel bar between 4pm and 6pm which was popular with residents and non residents. Our twin room was very spacious as was the bathroom which had the most brilliantly hot and powerful shower.
Adjacent to the hotel is the river Doron des Allues and was lovely. The first night, you could really notice the sound of a heavy flow of water whilst trying to sleep, but after that it was just like an air conditioning unit in a hotel room. ie not an issue. Food wise, breakfast had the usual continental array of croissants, cereal, toast and somewhere to boil your own eggs. To accompany this, there was juices and tea / coffee. The evening meal, which was a set menu (€32 for non residents), was really nice. 3 courses with food cooked to perfection. I liked most of the food, but I'm not sure what you'd do if you didn't.
If you want easy access to the 3 Vallees for a really good price, this is THE place to stay. You would need to accept the journey up and down the gondola to Meribel, but the £ saving is well worth it. I wouldn't hesitate in visiting this hotel or Brides les Bains again.

Skiing for a week end of January with a friend.
Pleasant hotel. Staff helpful. Room clean and lots of hot water. I had bath and shower attachment.
Free ski locker with boot heaters. ( Refundable 20 euro deposit) There is a boot room available at the cable car for 20 euros but as hotel is very close; 2 minutes walk, no point.
Continental breakfast which was plentiful.
Set evening meal, which was okay. If didn't like offering could ask for a change.
25 minutes (approximately) link from nearby small bubble car to main ski area as you are located at the bottom of the valley. The bubble cab is old and showing age but gets you there.
Bar is friendly with happy hour 4pm -6pm which is applicable to one type of beer. Does not apply to any other drinks. There is a friendly small bar across the road and a small spar type shop.
The village is small and quiet.

Unfortunately on arival we were given a double bed in our room although we had booked a twin room with single beds as I was sharing a room with my 21 year old son. There were 2 other couples left in the same situation and after an hour of to and throw we were give a campbed to use for that night as it was very late due to a 3 hour delay with Crysatl ski (Tui flight). The hotel was fully booked with no room change alternative.
The next day we had two single beds put in our room but shoved right next to each other due to the only available space, so it was not much better than a double. Beds were comfortable though.
No welcome pack on arival and although I reported the lock was broken on our patio doors, they were not fixed for the whole week we were there. This caused a draught through the night and we didnt feel as safe as we should of done. I beleive this had been like this for some time.
The room was spacious, comfortable and on the face of it clean but with a closer inspection the cleaniless wasn't the best. If you looked down from the balcony the view was of a dissused courtyard with dirty floors and furniture but if you looked up the view was mountainess and lovely. The rooms were dated but this was expected and the bathroom has unique tiling which was very nice.
Nothing to watch on Tv and no Kettle (we took Firestick for the TV and a collapsable kettle as we were already made aware of this).
Breakfast was okay but if you left it until 0900ish some items were not replenished.
Evening meals consisted of one option other than vegertarian. The meals were good and came out fast but not good for fussy eaters (there is a good pizzeria next door though) on the odd occasion they would do chips for my son. again we were aware of this before travelling.
The bar area was always reasonably busy, beer was 7 euros a pint or 5 euros if you made it back for happy hour! Not all other bars were open in the village as being January it was very queit. Not a village to stay in if you want to party.
We kept our skis in the lockers at the bottom of the gondola as there was no space in the hotel lockers and it was alot more convienient for us. (only a 2 minuite walk in our ski boots from hotel to gondila) so a great location.
Although the 25 minuite ride in the gondola was a bit draining towards the end of the holiday there was always some good like minded skiers to chat to about your day.
Last lift back at 1700 which was fine and enough time to have a couple of drinks in Meribel or the La Folie Douce onthe slopes before coming back.
All staff in the hotel and Gill the Crystal rep were polite, helpful and friendly at all times.
With not many changes and a bit more attention to detail this could of easy been a 5 star review.
As we paid half the price here against staying in Meribel with just a bit further to travel to for the ski area, overall I think you should consider this hotel if you are on a tight budget and happy that not everything will be perfect.

A great week away with my daughter and step daughter. Staff where very friendly and helpful. Food was a set menu but if you advised the staff in the morning that you didn't like what was available they provided you with a different option. Free ski lockers. Short walk uphill to the Olympe gondola which took just under 30 minutes to get to the top. We went in half term but we never experienced a queue. The hotel was the "go to" place for apres ski and happy hour was from 4pm - 6pm. Not sure if this extended to all drinks or just the beer. Just a couple of little things - every night they played the same music on a loop which, after a week became a little repetitive. Also, I would have to agree with the comments above that the hotel's attitude to fire safety was not that great in that they wedged open all the fire doors between each floor.

Our ski group visited this hotel 12 years ago. The Hotel Staff has really raised the bar very high during that time period. Everything from check-in, to group reception, to the bar, the restaurant, rooms and ski storage has gone from good to outstanding. This is one hotel that has listened to their customers and turned it into a home away from home. I've been doing these trips for 20 years and this is the most improved hotel I've seen. I congratulate the management on having a customer-oriented, first class property.

stayed for week starting 29th jan 2022 on half board. DInner was excellent and good variety. Breakfast coffee and croissant great. A few more cheeses at breakfast would have been good. Staff attentive and efficient. 30 minutes on new bubble up to meribel and lift opens 8:30. Quiet location and decent ski room with warm boots for the off.

I recently returned from a family ski trip to this hotel.
The hotel is well positioned near the Olympe gondola.
Breakfast was very nice with a continental and cereals available.
Evening meals are a set menu and is of a decent quality.
The bar is very welcoming and busy in the evening, especially from 1630-1830 for happy hour.
Staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
My only gripe is the use of wedges to hold open the fire doors from the single central staircase to each floor landing.
This is totally irresponsible as it means if a fire occurs in the hotel no one would be able to leave their rooms, as all the hallways and single staircase would be filled with smoke.
I brought it to the attention of reception, wedges were removed but replaced the next day!
