Do yourself a favour and take time out of the rat race and travel the roads less traversed and find your way to Springgrove estate near Chrissiesmeer.
It is set on a beautiful estate that dates back to the days of good living and epitomises a magnificent country getaway. There are various accommodation options available and we stayed in a glorious 3 bedroomed self catering speciaous house overlooking a beautiful dam.The views are gorgeous and the walks through the surrounding forest and around the estate are delightful. The cottage was very we equipped and had fabulous beds and lovely percale linen.
We were spoilt with a huge kaggel which was great in the middle of winter and there is a big gas braai on the big outdoor verandah area .The drop down blinds on the verandah also go a long way to making the area cosy.
Adelle, the manager of the propert,is an absolute gem and was in contact with us from the time of booking all the way to following up with us after we had left.
She is a true asset to the estate with her attention to detail she ensures a very well run establishment. You will most definately not be disappointed if you visit this lovely spot!Thank you for sharing this little piece if heaven with other people!

Hi there to all you wonderful guests from PE (the friendly city) . You were an absolute pleasure to host. There was one awkward moment when we battled to get the rugby on the tv, but soon it was solved:). And i agree about Adelle and thank you for mentioning her especially. Please return again, you are most welcome

We hosted a 40 guest wedding ceremony and reception at the estate on the coldest 2 days imaginable. The staff, lead by Adelle, were simply unbelievable in terms of their commitment to ensure that the special event was a success. The cleanliness of all accommodation, the chapel and the reception venue (The Shed) justifies special mention. Adelle also ensured that we had a fully staffed cash bar for the reception. The detail and quality of the meals, (both dinner and a breakfast the following day) was of the highest quality and presented beautifully. This was really good value for money. Staying over after the function was the best idea ever!

My utmost gratitude to the whole wedding party and the wonderful review. You cannot believe how much the farm staff appreciated your feedback. I want to mention them by name, Adélle our manager, ably assisted by Temba, Marcos, Khangazile and Nompulelo. I must say we were so worried about the cold, but it seems as if our staff, enough wood for fires, and your wonderful spirit to enjoy all despite the weather, led to the success of this event Come again soon when it is a bit warmer:)

We spent a peaceful family "catch-up" weekend at Springgrove Estate. As with our previous visit, the cottage was crisp clean with new amenities. It is clear that the owner is re-investing in the property and it just makes the experience so worth the drive, about 3 hours from Pretoria. The way Adélle makes you feel at home and Themba ensures that there is always fire-wood and everything is in order makes it difficult to leave! Now that the dam is full again, the view forces you to relax.

Room Tip: We love cottage 3 because it is closest to the forest, but cottages 1 and 2 have better views.

My favourite getaway and suitable for all groups needing to escape the city life and retreat to a secluded forest "home away from home"
The house are spectacular, super comfy luxurious beds. Breathtaking scenery and the freedom of space and peace wildlife.. an untouched gem and so so special to my heart.

What a great get away venue. Stunning luxury cottages overlooking a Dam. Self cater full kitchen with gas stove. En suite bedrooms. Comfortable large lounge with large roofed patio. Surrounded by timber forests. Peaceful with lots of birdlife. This is a good value for money destination with excellent host and well maintained accomodation.
