Clean, spacious room. Big pool with enough beds and umbrellas. We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The host was wonderful and prepared a simple but tasty plate of cold cuts and salad from their orchard for dinner. The town of Sansepolcro is definitely worth a visit with several nice restaurants. Would love to visit again.

We arrived on a dull February day to be greeted in the car park by the proprietor, a smiling, warm, jovial man who greeted us with an enthusiastic, firm handshake (always a good sign). We were ushered into the Palazzo where the attention to detail of this enormous restoration project was evident from the minute we walked in the door. Utterly gorgeous! We were shown a few rooms of which we could choose the one we liked most. A cot was carried upstairs for our 9 month old and placed in our chosen room. We sat back and relished the extraordinary views from our small window, right across the countryside to the medieval town of Sansepolcro. The rooms are beautifully restored with huge beamed ceilings and typical Tuscan furnishings. We slept extremely well in the generous wrought-iron beds. However, the highlight of our 3 day stay in Palazzo di Luglio had to be the feast that awaited us each evening. We dined at a huge table and benches right beside an enormous open fire. Because we were lucky enough to be the only guests at that particular time, we got top treatment. The food prepared lovingly by the proprietor and his wife was Tuscan food at its best. We struggled to come up with superlatives to compliment the chef. It was all so wonderful. Here was a man who revelled in the preparation and serving of his food and we devoured it greedily. Would we return again? We're about to book our stay at Easter!

The accommodation in this beautifully restored palazzo was stylish and comfortable. Even more of a delight were the warmth of the welcome, the charm and friendliness of the waiting staff and the superb food prepared by Giuliano the engaging and hard-working owner.
The dinners in particular were excellent, containing many local and home grown ingredients, expertly assembled with obvious pride and dedication.
We stayed here for one planned night on the way north and were so impressed that we altered our plans in order to spend an additional night here on the way back to Umbria.
This is a special place.

Palazzo di Luglio is all-round unquestionably the most pleasant hotel in which we have had the good fortune to stay across the length and breadth of Europe. The proprietors and their staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and treated us as if part of the family. The accommodation was both spacious and cultured, with obvious attention to detail in every respect, but the piece de resistance was each day’s evening meal, beautifully prepared and exquisitely cooked Tuscan dishes the like of which we had not previously tasted anywhere. Though apprehensive at divulging such an absolute gem of a find, we can do no less than make an unqualified recommendation for an establishment which excels in its location as in its welcome and its cuisine.

We stayed with a group of 12 at the Palazzo on a tour of Tuscany. It is nicely located close to Sansepolcro. Within walking distance downhill. The owner Mr Venturo ran a very success restruant in Sansepolcro for 40 years. His food is fantastic. We had three of our dinners with him. He prepared and served the food to our group himself. He was so proud of his cooking. And he should be. We looked forward to seeing what he made for us each night. Our rooms were the best. He must have spent a fortune fixing up the old villa. We couldn't get over how much we loved the place. We watch deer run through his olive grove at night outside our dining room. We would recommend this to our friends visiting Tuscany or Umbria.

Homely ambience and very nice people welcoming you from the first moment.
Perfect pool and garden.
Top local lunch and dinner. Very honest food made by owner of 80 years, who is and should be very proud.

This Hotel has been restored from a large important house with great care and attention to detail. The facilities are excellent with peace and quiet, trees and gardens being the impression of the space. Its in the hills outside Sansepolcro and will undoubtedly be our base if we find ourselves again in the area. Possibly we were spoilt by there only being one other guest at the time but we can only report on our own experience. Only stayed one night mid-week. Excellent dinner and Italian breakfast. Delightful. I have copied this review at Booking dot com through whom we booked.

Sansepolcro location is a great eastern corner of Toscana with great food and lots of places to visit. The Palazzo di Luglio is a restored estate located uphill 2 km from the Sansepolcro city wall. The staff was very helpful and friendly and spoke English quite well. The owner was a very dedicated and friendly person. He works hard everyday, and he insures that the experience is very Tuscan. He provides great dinners and plenty of breakfast options. I will stay there again. The part of Tuscany is worth more exploring.

We stayed for 2 nights and had dinner here both nights. We arrived a bit early, about half an hour before the official check in time. Nonetheless the owner / host was very friendly and welcoming, our room was ready and he showed us the room and gave us towels for use at the pool. We told him we would like to stay for dinner and he was delighted. Our oom was very old, beautifully restored and furnished with antique furniture. The was no airco but the temperature was perfect. W ha a bedroom, bathroom, and a sitting room with fridge and cooking facilities. The grounds were very well kept and the pool was large and clean. There were enough sunbeds and parasols. Dinner was typical Italian: local ingredients, nice fresh vegetables. 3 courses and coffee. The chef was the owner / host / chef and he also brought the food to our table, explained what he and cooked and how much he loved the ingredients, flavors, and the smell of the food. Food with passion! The dishes were great: lots of flavor, pure Italian herbs and fresh vegetables. The chef is well past retirement age but he gets help from a waiter or waitress when meals are served. Breakfast was also excellent: everything you would expect was available, and much more. The variety of cakes they serve for breakfast is incredible. Since Palazzo di Luglio is a working farm, they also produce thir own olive oil among other things, so we brought home 2 cans of oil of 3 liters each, after we tasted it. Altogether we loved our stay here and we hope to return some day. .

This hotel is high on the hill with a great view over the Tiber valley and the town of Sansepolcro; olive groves and a garden all around. We only spent one night at the hotel, where we had a valley view from a room furnished and decorated with good taste: very clean and comfortable (just a small detail: no box of tissues.....). The owner and his staff were very courteous and apologized for the noise caused by a garden party which lasted almost until midnight; we had, however, a very good rest, and were welcomed in the morning by an exceptional breakfast in the garden, with plenty of local specialties, fresh fruit, baked goods, all served with charm and efficiency. We would certainly recommend this property.

"I was in 'leccio' on the first floor which is a bedroom and lounge-Huge and fantastic views but quite expensive..it was the only one left as the Palio was in town. I did see some in the outer buildings which were still large and opened on to terraces.... If you want a view ask especially."
