Maybe a little dated with the rooms and furnishings but was fine for a stopover. The local area is also a bit run down and quite industrial, no fancy views here ! Couldn't sleep with the window open because the Tricolore is on a busy road and my room was at the front of the hotel. We visited during some very hot weather but the air conditioning worked fine and soon had the temperature down to a comfortable level. My double bedroom had a desk, chairs and a small en-suite which had a bidet and a shower cabinet. The mini bar had free water which was a nice touch. Breakfast was the usual continental selection and was fine, made even better because English breakfast tea was available ! I would be happy enough to stay again if in the area.

Very confortable double rooms that can be connected by a small atrium with doors. You can choose to close every room or close the door of the atrium only to create an open space with a second double room (with an optional third bed). Ideal for families with 2 or 3 children. Interesting prices (105 euro for 4 people including breakfast). Normal breakfast buffet but you’ve to ask for a coffee if you don’t like an automatic machine one. Parking in front of the hotel. There is also a restaurant close to it.

Friendly welcome, lovely and clean hotel at a good budget price, which made for a good stopover as we started the long drive home, I would recommend The only negative is there are not many places nearby to find anything to eat

Modern hotel with good facilities. Ok for stopover visit. Hotel is a little isolated so not much nearby. Restaurant attached. Handy for Ferrarri factory visit at Modena. Bologna is a short drive away on the autoroute. Sat Nav needed to find the location.

When you need a break traveling long distance through Italy along the A1 this is a very good, pretty quiet, basic comfortable hotel with a good beakfast, in the countryside between Bologna and Milano, only a few kilometres away from the A1.

I spent 2 nights in this really nice hotel. The owners are very welcoming, pleasant and are ready to help you. We had a comfortable triple room (cleaned bathroom and bedding). The breakfast buffet was good with everything you can hope. This hotel is perfect to visit the surrounding area (Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna).

I was looking for a hotel not far off the motorway within a couple of hours of the East coast and we found this one. It's in a lovely spot with plenty of parking (which was important for me as I had a van), its right next to a quaint church and petrol station. It has a small gym attached and a restaurant although these were closed as I arrived quite late. The room I had 205 was a single room, with a single bed with a WC and shower. Everything was as it should have been with plenty of complimentary toiletries. If definately stay here again next year!

I have this weekend attended the ‘Italia Loves Emilia’ concert at Reggio Emilia, Italy. I stayed at the hotel Tricolore (3 star), Reggio Emilia situated some 20mins by car from the city centre. The hotel (the wing in which we were staying) is relatively new with the bath also equipped with a Jacuzzi. The room, although not very big, was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good and fresh and staff hospitality excellent. The only small thing keeping it from being a perfect stay was the mattress/springs of the third bed (we booked a triple) which was far too soft. Apart from that, I would surely recommend this hotel which in my opinion should be rated as a 3star superior.

We stayed in this hotel for one night as a stop over; you would need to have a car to access it as it's in a mainly industrial area. The room was a good size, however there was a strong smell of smoke in the room and on the bedding which was really off-putting. Breakfast had a good spread of options, and staff were helpful. A large clock outside started chiming at 7am on the Saturday morning, so as long as you're happy for an early wake up, it's fine! Fine hotel for an overnight; have a restaurant linked to it if needed.
