The bed was the comfiest bed we stayed in! Rustic/modern accommodation with breakfast included and beautiful outdoor spa for our leisure after 6pm! Restaurant is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and very hard to get transport to the accomodation as it’s a dirt road and the local taxis don’t like driving on it. The taxi we did get was a local using his car so CASH ONLY. The staff were very helpful and we appreciate everything they did!

We scheduled a wine tour and tasting and due to road construction ended up being late for our scheduled visit to Salcheto Winery. I called on our way and told them we were running late so I was told we would just have a tasting. We arrived and no one else was seated at their tables. When we were finally served, the employee explained all 3 wines, poured them all, and left us with some bread and no other chance to ask about the history of the winery, etc. The wine was ok and then they tried to charge me again even though I already paid through Trip Advisor. We felt very ignored even though we paid top dollar for next to nothing. What a disappointing experience.

An amazing experience at Salcheto Winehouse. We left with the feeling of having experienced Tuscany, with its beauty, food and people. We felt very comfortable, with rooms decorated in a modern fashion and a lot of space. The breakfast was served with a lot of attention, and we enjoyed it every morning as if it was the first day. Worth mentioning is the ability to take a bath in the “hot tubs” with a great view of Montepulciano, a true luxury. We enjoyed a delightful cooking lesson with Melina, as well as a delicious dinner, and a brunch, always accompannied by a magnificent wine. From there, we were able to visit several towns and cities, not only by car, but also by bike, courtesy of Urban Bikery. Florence and Sienna are a must, and Montecchiello and Pienza make up for a great bike ride along the Tuscan vineyards.

Room Tip: Rent a bike and explore the Tuscan landscape. Also, try out the Pecorino cheese from Cugusi.

A truly magical place. The setting, the rooms, the wine, the food, the people are all quintessential Italy. But the best part by far were the breakfast chats with Sarah who is a warm welcoming presence and a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommended for couples looking for a Tuscan getaway!

Our room was lovely and the breakfast host a star and mine of local information. The vineyards wines were good value compared to some others and ethically very sound. Finishing each day in a hot tub taking in the amazing views of Montepulciano was memorable. Take care getting into and out of the white road that leads down to the vineyard, not to mention on the first and second gear drive in both directions. It's worth it when you get there though.

I had originally planned for us to visit here but then read a few negative reviews on TA and took it off my list. However we had an hour to kill between one tasting and lunch so came here 'on spec'. The views to Montepulciano are superb and so we decided to do a tasting. We were told it was Eur10 pp for 3 wines. We were given no choice of which wines we could taste and were therefore disappointed when the first was a rather unusual rose. As I was genuinely interested in tasting and potentially buying some of the red wine we asked after the 2nd wine if I could taste one red and my husband a different one. They did agree to this. But all the tasting pours were so scant it was hard to properly taste (I am a qualified sommelier and even if one doesn't drink it all a pour of more than two sips is needed to properly appreciate all the aspects of a wine as I learned when doing blind tastings etc. for my exams). However I decided we would buy some wine (and I mean more than 1 or 2 bottles - I think it was 9 or 12) so the total wine bill was quite a lot. I was shocked that we still had to pay for the tastings. I've never had this happen before other than in perhaps the most exclusive Napa wineries. We should have simply told them we wouldn't buy the wine - they'd have lost a Eur200 sale - but were both so surprised it didn't occur to us until we got in the car. This place gets a definite thumbs down from me on the tasting / hospitality experience - the wines are a different matter.

We stayed here for two nights when we visited Montepulciano in April & loved it! The rooms are wonderful with a modern clean design, not to mention the amazing wine barrel hot tubs overlooking the wonderful view. The location is centralized to many other wineries, and the view from the wine house is OUTSDANDING. Another perk is that you get a free winery tour with your stay which was great. It was really interesting to learn about the Biodynamic and Organic methods they are using to make wine! They among some other vineyards in the area are leading the way for more earth and body friendly wine making. We would definitely stay here again!

We did a tour and luncheon at this wonderful winery. The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. This is a winery that uses sustainable practices. The luncheon was good and had wine tasting with each small course. I was not thrilled with the wine, but others in my party liked it and sent some home to the states.

Lovely and warm place. Beautiful design. Really nice wines. We came in January and we stayed one night. It was peaceful very clean the rooms. Polite staff and homade breakfast. We did the tour inside the winery and it was interesting. The only thing that we found a bit poor was the wine tasting, besides the wines are really good so we bought some for home

Yesterday my friend and I visited Salcheto Winehouse and did a tour and tasting. The tour started off with a sweet white wine that resembled apple juice. We then were taken on a very short tour of just the cellars. No mention of grapes, vines, climate, soil or anything one would like to know that makes particular wines special and taste the way they do. We learned some amazing facts about sustainability and the practices the vineyard uses. That was very inspiring and the reason we came in the first place. We then had an awkward and horrible tasting of three wines (the website said four?) where the woman would disappear for 15 minutes in between each pour and leave us to make awkward small talk with the other people on the tour. She didn’t bring out all the wine to start, like any other tasting ever. The wines were not good. Their Nobile was the only one that was drinkable, but we definitely didn’t want more. The worst part of the whole experience was that it costs 16 Euro each... and we’ve been traveling all over Tuscan Wine Coutry for days having incredible and free tastings and tours. This area has such phenomenal wine and this vineyard is a letdown and disappointment and waste on money. I do not recommend to any real wine lover.
