They have not been able to offer alternatives so as not to lose the reservation. We notified with 24 hours in advance (due to health problems I was in the hospital and I could not carry out the cancellation before). They have not even allowed the dates change. Total lack of flexibility that is not acceptable in 2019.
Lorenzo’s service was above and beyond what I expected. He is the best example of a sincere person. From the time we checked in up to the day we check out. The night before our check out I found out I’m low on my pain med. As soon as he learned that, he made several phone calls that same night. The following morning, he drove me to the hospital to get my prescription and then to the pharmacy. Another example was one of the guest checked out ahead of us and accidentally took my back pack. He offered to drive us to the port and on the way to the port he drove around town hoping he will spot the guest so I can get my bag back. We didn’t find them on the way however I found them while we were checking in the ship. That’s how caring Lorenzo is to his guests. With regards to our room and stay, the room was very clean, large, and provided everything the guest could want, and even more. Towels are new and toiletries were complete. Breakfast was always on time and complete. Location was superb and was within walking distance to the town plaza, theater, restaurants, port, and shopping center, as well as the train station. I loved the personal attention Lorenzo treated us and his guests. He made sure all his guest were relax and well attended too. I wish we could have stayed longer.…
One is always a tad hesitant booking a hotel room online based only on other visitors' reviews, but this one worked out great. It had been a LOONNNNGGG couple of days of traveling, thanks to a missed connection due to an aircraft problem in SFO, a long layover in Chicago, rerouted to Brussels with a delayed arrival in Rome, an hour-late train, which meant that meant I arrived in the dark (10 PM instead of 9:30 AM) with almost no power on my cell phone, and no taxis outside the train station in Civitavecchia. Stressed?? Who, me?? But my luggage arrived, so that made things a tad easier to deal with. I started walking from the train station toward lights, which I assumed were in the city, and my instinct was correct. I stopped at a small restaurant where one of the waiters spoke a little bit of English, and he was able to find the hotel on his GPS and gave me almost perfect directions. But due to limited street and hotel signage due to the darkness of the evening, I missed the street and walked another three or four blocks before asking for additional directions. Long story made short, I arrived safely and was warmly greeted by the owner, Lorenzo. He's a jewel and made sure everything was okay. Slept soundly and enjoyed breakfast, as well as the small patio/garden area where it was very peaceful. Was a lovely stay, AND Lorenzo took me to the ship's shuttle bus area at no charge... that type of service doesn't happen very often these days. Two suggestions: Better hotel exterior signage (arriving late at night didn't help, I realize), and another towel hook in the bathroom. And a note to future guests: the shower is actually rather small by American standards, and I'm a tall, gangly individual, but it worked and there was plenty of hot water ... so no real complaint, just an observation and a heads-up. All-in-all, I have absolutely no hesitancy in recommending this property based on my one-time experience..…
Big room, very comfortable. The owner was very helpful and even took us to the port when we left. He helped with directions to bars and good places to eat. When we booked he arranged the taxi from Rome FCO airport to the B & B. You don't get that kind of help in many places so I have no hesitation is recommending this place. If we go back for another cruise we will definitely be staying here.
Good location with very clean rooms and a nice garden, The owner is very helpful even taking us to the port when our taxi failed to turn up. Definitely recommended if you are catching a cruise ship or are staying for a look around the town. Restaurants are close by.
