We made a last minute reservation, because we were stopping in the marina nearby with our boat. As mentioned in other reviews, Toni was so kind, hospitable, and generous. I cannot sleep in hot, humid places without a/c or at least a fan. This place had neither. But, when I mentioned this to Toni he immediately offered me his own personal fan. He saved us from a difficult night. The only caveat would be that the breakfast is cheap - the orange juice is not - it's an inexpensive fruit drink, and the bread is low quality, wrapped in cellophane. Bring your own if you can. The kitchen is nice and has a large fridge where you can keep your provisions.
Toni, the do everything manager of the place, is a lovely welcoming and very easy going host. It felt like visitng a family home and there was no sense that rules matter. I watched the US women's Open tennis final till 3am in the dining room. Also nice and easy for relaxing and enjoying the mature gardens in this former Bishop's residence. Disused altars and mosaic floor resting places in the gardens added to the blessed peace of this modest but delicious environment. Will return for sure! Vx
This was a wonderfull stay with the best personal service you could ever expect! We stayed here before and after a cruise. We flew into Rome and the owner arranged for our transportation from the airport to the B&B which is a good hour away. She got us a much better price than I could find online. They took us out for dinner and drove us to the port in the morning. They awaited us at the port upon our return and had breakfast waiting. This is a family run business and we were certainly treated like family while there. The rooms were big and bright and my family had a whole floor to ourselves so it felt very private. I would love to return for a longer visit sometime and would definitely stay there again. Thank you for excellent and personal service!
