My friend and I booked 2 nights at this B&B based on reviews & near the cruise port and we were not disappointed. There are 2 rooms, our floor and one upstairs with a balcony overlooking the port and sea. Simone is a lovely Italian lady who spoke very little English and thru Google Translator on both our phones, we had great conversations. Our private room/bathroom was modern & extremely comfortable. Her breakfast presentation was fabulous with wonderful fresh pastries and her homemade pinwheel egg/prosciutto/cream cheese creations were awesome. Only thing missing for me was a comfortable recliner or cushioned chair. There is a Catholic church across the plays Ava Maria at noon on their bells, very lovely.
There are not enough words to describe the wonderful hostess at this B&B. We arrived the night before our cruise and the room for the three of us was large and comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was like a 5 star restaurant. The hostess even went above and beyond by hiding our friends in the kitchen until we arrived. They had come from Rome to see us for the first time in over 15 years. What a wonderful surprise.
We stayed for one night prior to getting aboard our cruise. It scores 9.6 on Booking.com which was our motivation for booking there as well as the proximity to the port which was a 10 euro per person ride. On arrival we were disappointed because the entrance to the building is unattractive to say the least. However once inside the apartment we all smiled, because it was so nice. We occupied both rooms so had it to ourselves, the owner a particularly friendly lady let herself in ,in the morning and laid out a spectacular breakfast for us. What a lovely evening we spent there. I can see why she gets 9.6. I agree entirely with previous reviews, just don't get put off by the entrance as it all gets better inside.
This is the cutest B&B our host was so lovley and welcoming the breakfast is AMAZING. Very clean, beautiful view, close to train station , restaurants and the foreshore. Would give 10 stars if we could Would stay again for longer and make this a base to visit Rome, Pisa and surrounding area.
B&B Huguette is the perfect stay after a long trip from Texas to Civitavecchia and a restful retreat before boarding our cruise. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Simona, who showed us to our room upstairs with a balcony overlooking a church and the sea, just one block away. The room was good size, including a king bed and wardrobe with a full bathroom and balcony. The stairs are narrow, so carrying large bags or for those with mobility challenges, the downstairs room may be better, but don’t miss out on the upstairs room if you can help it. We loved napping in the afternoon with the ocean breeze coming in. Our bed was very comfortable and the entire B&B is so clean and accommodating. Hairdryer and shampoo in the bathroom. Large, thick towels, crisp sheets. Breakfast was so plentiful and we had a variety of homemade pastries, a cold egg and meat dish made with eggs from Simona’s hens, risotto salad, bread, cheese and charcuterie, cereals, cappuccinos and juices. Such good, quality food. B&B Huguette would be a value at twice the price. For what we paid, we feel like we have found a true gem. It’s one block from the sea and many good restaurants and Simona helped us by suggesting a free bus to the port right from the train station a block away. …
