Made fun of by the good reviews I strongly advise against this place if you are not known or if you have a disabled person. Old hotel, uncomfortable double room even for one person, brief cleaning. The door did not close properly and slammed as the other doors opened. The air conditioner didn't work. The double bed with two very hard and old single mattresses with the wardrobe attached in front, space of action not even a meter. The 3sqm bathroom with a dangerous step. The receptionist, informed before departure that I was accompanied by a disabled person, made the absolutely uncomfortable weekend denying even with a subtle discrimination that I had not said it (calling myself, implicitly, a liar. Before leaving I always make sure that if I spend money I want to be served and treated properly), it has served us in an uncomfortable way and marginalized with a detached and venal manner. Did she deny me to eat outside, perhaps because the disabled person on display in her lousy hotel wasn't a "pretty sight"? The clientele seemed to be long-standing and apparently they prefer to hold on to that. To those passing through, they offer minimal service and a cold welcome. At 6 in the morning I ask for a coffee, they block my calls at the reception despite knowing that I was having difficulty leaving the disabled person alone in the room. Asked to have a front row seat on the beach and not to be a snobbish tourist, but because the disabled walk badly. The lies that have followed one another border on the ridiculous, even arrogating to themselves the right of ownership of that tiny piece of sea. Distances between umbrellas not up to standard. The restaurant stole the cooks from the hospital cafeteria. Meager dishes, insignificant cuisine: overcooked chitarrine in broth of shy lupine vogoline (to eat them it was a treasure hunt), octopus sheets that must have been 10 grams in all, with a chopped parsley (green sauce, bah), penne poor of hard supermarket with two pieces of cuttlefish and one, I mean one, mussel. A fried sole with lemon and a piece of broccoli and cheese flan on the side (my God, what a combination). All for the modest sum of 96 euros. Water paid 3 euros separately and not even a liter.A double room for one night (because in the morning I ran away

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Beautiful hotel right on the Adriatic Sea! Their beach bar and restaurant were still open. Every other beach bar and restaurant was already closed for the season which was too bad. There is a wooden walkway all down the beach between the hotels and the beach so it's a great walk. Would be fun to walk to a different beach bar for lunch every day but I imagine it will also be crazy crowded in summer. The room was very clean and we had a small balcony overlooking the water. Teeny tiny shower so if you are a bigger person it would be a tight fit!! Took off the hot pink polyester coverlets. Wish I could have done the same with the hot pink curtains as the light coming through them created a pink glow. I would prefer all white linens and curtains. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. We were almost the only English speaking guests which I loved!! Definitely would go back. At the time of year we were there there was no nightlife. Loved it!!!

Worth staying here if you want a genuine beach front hotel. Looks like you could walk all the way to Pescara on the beach side path, although I'm only guessing. Room was fine and spotlessly clean although shower a bit small. TV had no English language stations including no news. We ate in the hotel as we were too tired to go out, very average, the type of food catering for half board residents I guess. We stayed only 1 night.

I was traveling alone to visit some wineries in Abruzzi. This was fairly inexpensive and is on the water. The room was very small but comfortable and the balcony only had room for one chair, which was fine for me but the room would have been too small for a couple. It is good that I checked the information about the room in the binder in the room as only the first beach towel is free, so I just kept mine for the few days I was there. I was a little shocked that they charge hotel guests for the chairs and and umbrellas so I only availed myself of those one day. I was disappointed in the restaurant...food and wait staff sub-par. I ate out the rest of the days. The breakfast buffet was good though.

Perfect location and beach access. Staff was great and very friendly, they even lent us umbrellas as there was a chance for rain and we were on our way to an outdoors wedding. The room was very modern and had amazing views of the ocean. We would stay here again. Onsite restaurant was an added bonus, reasonably priced and excellent food.

We stayed in this hotel in June with my husband and didn't like it. The only good thing it has is the location, as it's on the beach. The room we had was dated and awful. Breakfast was the worst breakfast we've ever had in a hotel. No juices or good stuff at all, no variety and no vegetarian options. It was so bad that even when it was included on our rate, we skipped it after the first time we had breakfast. Even in a two stars hotels you can have much better breakfast than here. We definitely won't be back to this hotel.

My family and I stayed at this hotel because it was a convenient place to stop for the night while traveling further south. The hotel is fairly easy to find and the parking is convenient. The location is great for both the beach and restaurants. If we did not have to keep traveling for my work, we would have liked to stay longer. On convenience to the beach: hard to imagine how it could be any better. The hotel backs on the beach and has its own chair rental area, which is a very good value. The water and the beach are beautiful. The hotel has its own restaurant, which is very good. There are also a number of restaurants up and down the beachfront street. The staff are very friendly and the front desk clerk speaks English and German in addition to Italian.

We stayed here for a series of days in July. We had a 'feeling' room which provided us with a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea. The room itself wasn't large but not too small where we felt cramped. The only knock on this room is the shower in the bathroom which is just tiny. That aside, the room was just fine for us. They have larger rooms which will also cost you more. One really special thing about this hotel is that it's directly on the beach. You don't even have to cross the road to the get to the beach, unlike most of the hotels in Francavilla. We ate daily and nightly at the dining room to save money. Terrific food and service. Hotel staff had quick answers for all our needs. Nice little bar area just outside the back of the hotel for your snacks and drink needs during the day. Umbrella and chair is included in your stay however a lounge chair will cost you extra daily. Keep in mind Francavilla is super quiet. Not much to do at night other than eat ice cream and visit a very small amusement park for kids. All the action is in Pescara which isn't far but isn't really walkable from Francavilla either. We have family in Francavilla so hence we visit the area. We will definitely return to Punta de l'Est in the future.

Been here 3 times: 2 persons, family of 4 and 2 families larger group. This place is simply amazing and beautiful. Very nice staff, lovely location and beach bar. Amazing food and perfect beach. For kids / families as well as for bikers or vacationers who don't need noisy beachlife. Easy to reach by plane.

Firstly I'll discuss Francavilla al Mare/Pescara. The modest airport is a mere 7 minute drive from the location, allowing you to start your holiday as soon as you arrive without needless waiting about and the loss of a full day - also when leaving you are able to spend the whole day there without having to catch a very late flight (Early morning flights arriving and later flights departing I suggest). The location is perfect, on the very sea front also surrounded only short walks away are restaurants, cafes, bars, a supermarket and a small groceries. The marina is quite a walk away but on bicycle a very short distance - same for the pier. The bicycles are free for the use of guests, and are an excellent way to see the surrounding area and make quick stops to the supermarket. The beach, although crowded with sunbeds. is very pleasant, featuring a play area for younger children, several small restaurants up and down and a bar outside the hotel. On the road side of the hotel opposite, there are two self service pizzarias, the one on the right side served the most delicious pizzas, of which you could takeaway or eat in at a very reasonable price. Also opposite is the Il Bacio gelato which produces lovely traditional Italian ice cream. The location is a win, however finding a fine hotel here can be slightly troubling. There are no five star hotels in the area and the four star hotels are higher up in the mountains - a lot further from the beach. But Hotel Punta de L'Est is truly a classical hotel which should boast four stars. Our rooms were in the loft of the old hotel which has been modernised in all areas, we had a balcony with the perfect sea view, and despite lower expectations of the rooms size we found it was quite spacious. We were accustomed to a deck chairs and beds on the beach and table at the restaurant. Each of our group was given free WiFi accounts and passwords for our stay which is available every in the hotel and on the beach. The only aspect holding the hotel back from receiving five stars in my opinion, is the food and drink. Breakfast is slightly plain and no cooked breakfast is offered but it is adequate. Meals of an evening are also adequate, the pastas were all very good but other options lacked and after your pre-starter and starter you felt slightly full by the time your main was offered. The desserts were okay, choosing a bowl of fruit was however the best option which is why I suggest a visit to the gelato across the road. The only problem with the drinks was the dodgy cocktails - at least it was a laugh. The staff had impeccable manners and were very kind, from the bike/bed man to Franco the waiter in the restaurant. It should be noted that Pescara has a very small percent of British tourists (most being Italians) and therefore the majority speak very little English if any. It may be wise to revise some basic Italian phrases as the language barrier is prominent. We stayed for just a week, the temperature and weather was perfect throughout - which is predicted in this region of Italy during the summer months. The only rain was at night and clouds on one morning soon cleared up by midday. A beautiful part of Italy for a relaxing holiday.
