Immersed in lush vegetation, flowing ponds and shaded by towering green trees the guest house is situated on a hill with breath-taking views. The facilities we provide is a sparkling blue pool, large fully- equipet bar, fantastic braai facilities, secure parking, pool table, a complimentary coffee table, Wi-Fi, jungle gym for kids, a magnificent thatched lapa and endless green lawns. The remarkable stone buildings including the rooms, is wrapped in a timeless ambience, each beautifully decorated with historical artifacts. The main building provide an amazing experience, history hung on every wall and an interesting souvenir table is on display where you can purchase items of your choice. You will be taken aback by the very friendly hosts and hospitality, nothing is to much for us. Not to mention the mouth watering breakfast, lunch, cakes and dinner(on request) you will be served. The food is the best! An aroma of freshly baked goodies lingered in the air as you enter the lobby. It is a royal treat to discover our establishment, a gem in Namibia!

Friendly hosts Irene, Petro and Cobus made our stay memorable. Clean rooms and lovely food. We had a birthday to celebrate and a chocolate cake was baked when ordered ahead of our stay. Lovely gardens, a great place to stay when passing through or even for a few days. Quiet and serene

Outstanding service. Perfect place for a tourist that wants to experience the Namibian history. Shop with books and dresses. Swimming pool to refresh. This is much more than a bed and breakfast more a lodge.
Outstanding food and very clean accommodation and friendly staff.

Did not like the dinner offered at Kalahari Farmhouse so decided to check out the village for other options. Luckily our first stop was the Stampriet Historical Guest House across the road where we had a warm welcome from Kobus and, when we saw the restaurant and wooden deck overlooking the surrounding farms and village, a menu to suit a wide range of tastes at a very reasonable price - it was an easy choice. Petro showed us around and we liked the look of the rooms - simple farmhouse style. We had a memorable sundowner on the deck chatting to Petro, a recognized potter and artist, who is a third generation 'Stampriet'er' with lots of stories and snippets from this frontier town. The food was excellent as was the service - definitely the place to stay in Stampriet.

Room Tip: Ask for a bottle of Maria se Slaai Sous (Maria's salad dressing) - very special and a nice gift.

Our fist trip into Africa, and after a 6000km drive we ended up in Stampriet. Just the sound of the name made us want to go and have a look. Its so great when you have an idea of a place, and when you get there, its even more than what you had in mind. Our hosts were absolutely fantastic. I have no choice but to agree with MaxZell. Nothing was too much for them. We had a wonderfull braai and tasted the best Springbok wors that exists on earth, made by Petro herself! The rooms are decorated beautifully, just so to soot the name. Everthing is neat and clean, with much attention to detail. The swimming pool was perfect to cool off in. We could download all our e-mails and start the rest of our trip fresh the next day.
We carry very dear memories of our stay there, and will definately be back.

As driving in to Stampriet, It seems we made a mistake to stay over until, you drive up the driveway of the Historical Guesthouse, its like driving into a Oasis in a desert, green everywhere, ponds and huge trees . WOW its beautiful, with a warm Welcome from Kobus and Petro.A large lapa and 3 braai facilities, fully stock bar and food to die for. I will definitely recommend this Oasis to anybody, On our way back down to Cape Town we stop there for an extra night, just to relax abit before back to reality.

Coming from Twee Rivieren via mataMata and the Auob Riverbed I found a warm welcome in Stampriet. I expected to be in the middle of nowhere - which appeared to be a reality but nevertheless the Historical Guesthouse was a very positive surprise. This beautiful new deck! The view. Good food. Good atmosphere. The scientific information on the somewhat exceptional geological situation of Stampriet concerning water supply (artisian wells). The host is a man of all trades.
The only problem I encountered was the fact that the mosquito net did not properly close. I reported that and action would be taken.

A guesthouse with many antique objects, many animals in the garden and a
good pool area.

Good and efficient check-in.

The room was fine with an outdoor covered patio.

Nice covered area – lapa style – for sundowner and dinner.

The dinner menu will not win a price for being the most imaginative but still ok with non- meat/chicken options.

Great service and they cleaned our car as a courtesy service!
