Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Staff super willing to assist and go the extra mile. Enjoyed the hiking trail and being able to play tennis and jump into the swimming pool to cool down. Breakfast was the usual, but I guess due to it being in the height of the Covid pandemic and limited guests it was needed. Definitely worth the stay and wished it was longer!

I was very disappointed in my booking ,we booked an interleading and specifically called to confirm if it was the correct room weeks prior to arrival because when we arrived last year, we were given the key and when we unlocked ,the room was occupied with guest already ,we were then sent to a one bedroom where we were cramped in a one bedroom with our kids and they carried extra beds to the room to create sleeping space for the kids because they had a confusion with the booking, the following day we could go to our scheduled interleading room. This year the same scenario after we called to confirm, on arrival we were handed keys knowing its not the correct room ,we thought it was a different interleading room to find that its a one bedroom, I got very upset because they then made the suggestion to push extra beds into the room again- I was not impressed because if I wanted to if I wanted to go squat I would freely do so. The hotel manager really tried to come up with the best solution at that point but I was really not impressed because this was the second time in two years that we have a unpleasant arrival and had to battle before settling in. The room was nice but had no aircon ,one fan was not sufficient for both rooms, at night there was all types of creatures flying around. Other than that the restaurant, room service, and all the facilities was great.

Our stay at Houw Hoek Hotel was great. Rooms were spotless, gardens beautifully kept and quiet. The food was good and atmosphere in the dining area was warm and inviting. Service by waiters was excellent. My only concern was that I did not receive a message from the hotel before we left, confirming our stay. I suddenly realised this when I was half-way there, and called the hotel to confirm our booking.

Jennifer and her team were so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet. Compliments to the chef for a great a la carte menu, well prepared and presented. Room 81 was so comfortable, but the humming of some kind of machine at that corner of the building was noticeable at night.

We stayed at Houw Hoek on the recommendation of family and everything that they had told us was true. The room was spacious and beautiful, the view spectacular, the whole atmosphere at the hotel was friendly and inviting and the food a delight. Would definitely come back and recommend others to try it too.
