Paul and Nicky Wallace purchased their 25 hectare farm in September 2003 and immediately set out to create their own little piece of heaven. The two labourer's cottages, converted to self-catering accommodation, are perfect for a getaway to the country. Surrounded by vineyards, natural dams with abundant bird life and unparalleled sunsets, this is a little piece of paradise. Each cottage has a well equipped kitchenette, with a microwave, four plate stove top, fridge/freezer and other necessary amenities. The living area is open plan with the kitchenette and has a fireplace to keep things cosy in the cold, along with a TV with full DSTV. The two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a king (which can be made up as two single beds), come with wall heaters and electric blankets and are separated by a shared bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. Firewood, charcoal and firelighters are provided for both the inside fireplace and the braai outside.

Loved the area, the dam and weaver birds, doing yoga on the dock. Stunning beds and linen. Thoughtful to have plasters and dettol, firefighters and firefighter available. Also loved the company of Maxie!

We really enjoyed our short over night stay here and if we could we would have stayed longer. There are lovely vistas and you are able to walk down to the dam and just be at one with nature. I definitely recommend to stay here to get out of the rat race.

Most Enjoyable And Comfortable Time. Our Hosts Paul And Nicky Went Out Of Their Way To Ensure Recent Flooding And Heavy Rains Did not prevent us from celebrating a wedding. Also, for making the tasting room available for us to watch the Bokke wing the world cup. Double celebrations.

We stayed in the couple’s cottage. It was very clean and well-equipped. Tea, coffee, milk and even eggs were provided! Paul and Nicky are wonderful hosts. We had a very relaxed and informative wine tasting. Great weekend away. We hope to be back!

Our one night at Paul Wallace Wines and Cottages was lovely. The 2-bedroom cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and we couldn't have asked for more. We loved the fireplace, and even lit it in the morning before we left. Paul and Nicky are warm and friendly hosts, willing to chat, but also happy to give guests space to chill. The farm is open for exploration, so we enjoyed a walk up the hill to see the view. We loved the 3 dogs who are all very child friendly. Thanks to Nicky especially for involving the kids in the gardening and snail collecting on arrival - everyone felt at home straight away. The PW wines are superb, and it's a must to have a wine tasting with Paul if possible.

A wonderful place to stay especially whilst exploring the Elgin, Grabouw and Hemel en Aarde Wine region. Cottages are well stocked with wine (honesty bar), kitchen utensils, fire wood, comfortable beds and electric blankets for those colder nights. Fresh towels daily. Load shedding sorted, no need to worry. Nothing is too much for the hosts, very thoughtful and caring. Will be back. Thank you Paul Nikki and Robert for a wonderful wine tasting.

What Amazing weekend. As soo as you enter the gates of the farm, you feel the stress of life fade away. The cottages are lovely, clean and bright "home away from home" . The hospitality is outstanding and their wines are a true hidden gem...

We arrived late at night and were warmly welcomed by Nicky and Paul. They had turned on the wall heaters for us. Units are very well sized, comfortable kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Well equipped kitchen. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Wonderful electric blankets too. There are lights in every room that work during load shedding. WiFi was great. The best part for me was that the unit was warm throughout. It was particularly cold for May, but warm and comfortable inside the unit and bathroom. Well insulated.

We stayed in the Stirling cottage and I must say this place is a little gem! The hosts were super friendly and the views from the farm were stunning. We received a complimentary wine tasting which was an amazing experience and there are many other great farm activities that we could do. We will be back!
