I have stayed at this hotel several times under both brandings and, although a little soulless, it has always been OK and the restaurant during my past couple of stays has been surprisingly good. Didn't hesitate to book here for my wife and I's latest 2 night stay in Southport.

You mention that you have stayed with us several times and have enjoyed the hotel as well as the restaurant. I'm happy to know that your experiences with us prompted you to return. This time, it was different. You had a negative experience in the lounge area. I have a lot of empathy for you as the situation was not very nice, to say the least. It was equally unpleasant for our staff dealing with it on the night. Our night manager did, in fact, ask the guests to retire to their room. He has assured me that the disruptive guests were given no more alcohol, rather a non alcoholic drink to take with them to the room. The duty manager that you spoke with the next morning was aware of the situation and was informed that staff the night before had handled this matter appropriately. He assured me that he in no way intended to give you the impression that he did not care, and in fact spoke with you and directed you to speak with our General Manager if you had any issue with this incident, which you chose not to do. Since you have stayed with us on a regular basis we are first of all very disappointed to lose you as a returning guest. Secondly though, hopefully you are aware that this was indeed an exceptional situation for all involved and is not the kind of atmosphere we condone in any way, shape or form. Rhonda

Although refurbishment is well underway it did not interfere with our comfort at all. We stay here about three times a year whilst visiting family and are always impressed by the pleasant staff, the cleanliness and good quality of food in the dining room. We have been lucky

The hotel has been taken over now and is good for an overnight stay as was ours. It seems a little soulless however. My two areas I wasn’t happy with were, as I booked with a third party website they charged me £10 for parking (really Southport in March). I had just paid £6.50

First of all thank you for staying with us. I'm happy to hear your stay was good. The hotel might seem like it was "taken over", but in fact the transfer of ownership was almost 2 years ago. The re-branding (name change) was official on January 1st, 2019. If you come again in the future, just book direct with us on any of our web-sites or give us a call, free parking is a perk we offer for booking direct. I'm sorry you were unaware of this. Strange entrance to the hotel, reception is on the first floor above an empty lobby. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. I asked for a decent view and was given room 316. Two large double beds and plenty of room. Toiletries were good quality and refilled every day.

A lot, I don't know exactly how many but there is a large underground car park.

If you are a resident of the hotel, car parking is free! You take a ticket and get it validated by reception! Breakfat is from 7.00am, but if you require it earlier, I am sure the hotel will accommodate you. Don’t know the exact details of the height of the entrance to the car park. Best to call the Ramada. The Ramada Plaza Southport is an excellent hotel! One of the best in the North of England!
