What’s not to like? 5 mins walk from Whitley Bay station. 3 minutes to the beach. The BEST breakfast I have had in this price range and a fair bit higher. Massive breakfast choice. Friendly and helpful hosts. What’s not to like?
Very comfortable, clean and superbly decorated hosts were fantastic couldn't of asked for more. Ideally located a short walk from the sea front one way and the metro station the other way which was perfect as we had travelled for a rugby weekend in Newcastle. Very nice full English breakfast provided with plenty of other options to suit all tastes highly recommended
My wife and I stayed at The Metropolitan yesterday evening. I was greeted by one of the owners (sorry, I don't know if it was Paul or Lee), and he showed me the room, which was very nice. We were late getting back to the hotel that evening and had missed the deadline to submit our breakfast requests, (the deadline was 8pm and it was after midnight when we got back to the our room). Despite our very late request for breakfast it was fully accommodated and a great quality breakfast was served to us the following morning. Paul and Lee were very welcoming, despite us not being in the hotel for very long, and have clearly put a lot of effort into making it look great (much better than a standard chain hotel). We would definitely stay again.
Stayed here for one night on the bank holiday weekend and then had 2 nights in Newcastle and I can honestly say I wish we’d done it the other way round simply to have another night at this gorgeous guest house!! We stayed in room no. 2 and it was gorgeous and absolutely spotless. The bed was comfy and the room had all these lovely little extras like some playing cards, a thing to clean your shoes with and some books to read. The bathroom had cotton wool. earbuds and a generous mix of toiletries. Breakfast in the morning was a full English for my partner and a breakfast bagel for me I don’t like egg so requested a hash brown instead nothing was too much trouble. There was yoghurt and cereals as well as toast and jam and marmalade was in these little pots the attention to detail is second to none and everything in the breakfast was good quality as well. We only met one of the owners not sure what his name was but he was so lovely. We will definitely stay here again if we ever visit Whitley Bay again it’s amazing and very affordable.…
We're so glad we booked there. The hosts Paul and Lee were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. The decor was smart and modern, the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and we can really recommend the Eggs Benedict which were wonderful. If we're ever passing that way again we will definitely stay again.
