Spent 2 nights here celebrating our Anniversary and left wishing we could stay longer Attention to detail is everywhere, from the spotless minimalist rooms, to the quirky art and numerous spots to sit in the beautiful gardens. Food is all excellent quality (veg grown in the garden) and well cooked - well priced dinner option is a set 2 course menu so don’t expect lots of choice. Portions are plentiful but not large, which suited us. Drink measures were very generous and well priced. Breakfast choices were also good and well cooked and presented. This is a beautiful listed building so Wi-fi is not always available, shower could have been better but plenty of hot water. The whole place is so relaxing and a fantastic location with wonderful sea views. All the staff were lovely - attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely return.

We went this weekend to the Isle of Wight for a friend’s wedding and stayed at the Hillside hotel in Ventnor. The hotel is conveniently located only a short walk from the town centre, and has lovely sea views. Our room was clean and comfortable (we slept very well), the breakfast delicious, and the service excellent. They went out of their way to make our stay as good as it was and I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Hillside as they looked after us so well!

Nearly have this top marks as generally everything is perfect - we got we welcomed by the host in the drive (every time we arrived). The hotel (or is it a guesthouse ?) is very clean, nice rooms, fantastic gardens and a great wine list (we had plenty during our short stay) Just a couple of small points that just need the owners to make those final pushes and I would have given it top marks like everyone else - no tea tray in room - shower door faulty (sticks closed and hanging loose) - no water to hot tap (could not shave) - had to send cooked breakfast back as it had obviously sat out for a while (fried egg was cold, solid and wrinkled) - breakfast is ok but I have had a lot better (toast tepid) 1 Rasher of bacon (really !!) - evening meal was good quality but more choice please (chicken salad the only option!!!) - please pay attention to dietary requirements- we asked a few times as my wife is diabetic and needs extra carbohydrates (potato’s). None was forthcoming (I had to share mine) However overall despite a few B&B quirks eg door locked at 10pm this “Hotel” is fantastic Would I stay again …. Yes

The quality of Accomodation we were looking for, didn’t seem to exist, then a friend recommended Hillside. It’s in excellent condition, immaculately clean, very eco-friendly, with fresh produce served daily. Friendly, with a high-quality Customer service ethic, quiet and peaceful. IF you seek value over price, this is highly recommended.

We didn't stay here but decided to have a drink here and check the place out. The lady serving us was polite and friendly and the wine was very good. The grounds are incredible and we really enjoyed sitting out in the sun watching the world go by.
