Why am I being sent details when the entire staff was discharged before Christmas? Has it re-opened? The parent company is being sued for a large sum of money linked with a suggestion that the Company funds were misappropriated.

We travelled to Shanklin to stay at the Auckland House hotel only to find that it had gone bust and was closed. I can understand that the hotel group may have had financial difficulty but what i don't understand is why nobody had the good grace and common decency to advise us of the situation

The staff, hotel and restaurant are first class. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff who are polite and courteous. Rooms are lovely and spotless. The breakfast was excellent so we booked the restaurant for the evening. We both had the steak which was fabulous so we booked the restaurant for a 2nd night. The bar has a relaxing atmosphere and perfect for drinks before dinner. We are looking at booking for my birthday next year!

Having stayed only one night with friends, this was a lovely hotel, friendly staff good size room and only had breakfast which was very nice but at a cost of £17 per person. Convenient to the beach and town. Also must mention the barman was excellent. Would stay again when on the island and I believe you get a better deal direct with the hotel.

This Hotel has a lot to offer, very clean, friendly helpful staff, The food is excellent. and the rooms comfortable. However there are no room thermostats. and to turn the heating up or down meant a member of staff having to get on the floor and place their arm through a hole to get to the thermostat on the Radiator. The bathroom was a huge wet room and there was a smell coming from the drain. We decided to have a suite, but I did not expect to have a large kitchen. I should have investigated further befor paying extra for a kitchen I did not want or need. The hotel staff were very helpful in making our stay comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others.
