We stayed for 3 nights and were impressed with the character of the building, the large comfy room, the friendly and efficient staff and the cleanliness. Our room was quiet in the 'annexe' and easy, free, parking in a city is a bonus. Our Retriever Riley was made welcome. Nearby is a large green area with dog bins and the walk into the centre is about 10-15 minutes (via various routes). There seem to be frequent buses passing but we always walked. Enjoyed walks by the river, round the lovely city and train trips on frequent services to Newcastle (13 mins away,) and Alnmouth (only 40 mins away). A good base for a good break
Great location, our rooms were spotless, bright and beds very comfortable. Showers nice and hot. Helpful staff thoroughly enjoy staying at this Travelodge have used many times. We will be visiting again.
Friendly reception gentleman, room clean, tidy plenty tea coffee etc.all covid precautions in order.......fabulous restuarant (Sambuca) next door - 10 minute stroll to centre. Loved it. Will definitely return.
Well located to major roads. Good parking, a quiet corner of the city, comfortable clean, accommodation within walking distance to most of the city's sights. Very good value for money. What's not to like?
Great location, with restaurant attached to main building. Short walk to city centre, gives you options for eating. Durham is a very nice historic city that is vibrant and charming. The hotel is very clean and quiet.
