We stayed at the Cloud for 3 nights while visiting a friend in the area. It is located on the edge of the New Forest and ponies, cattle, wildlife is in full abundance right outside the hotel. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Brockenhurst and a minute's drive from the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive (the Tall Trees Trail). Our room was ideal for what we needed it for and whilst it was not a forest view, the garden view wasn't too bad (I've looked out on worse vistas!). We had a lovely modern bathroom with great oversized fluffy towels. The hotel has gone to great lengths to make customers and staff feel safe and protected during the pandemic and I felt comforted being aware of this. The hotel has a beautiful garden which was a godsend as we stayed during a mini heatwave and it was lovely to come back at the end of the day and sit and chill, read in the garden, while being served G&T's out there. Oh and a much welcomed fan in the room was appreciated for the hot nights. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening but did have breakfast which was of a high standard. All staff were friendly, attentive (without being intrusive) and we felt very relaxed and welcomed at the hotel. The hotel had a great vibe about it and we were quickly on talking terms with the rest of the guests and their pets, which just added to the enjoyment of our break. Thank you to everyone for making our break so restful and relaxing which was much needed by my friend and I for different reasons. I would feel more than happy to stay again by myself. Finally a lovely parting gesture was a packet of boiled sweets for the journey home which came in handy after being stuck on the M3 & M25 for a while!…
Years ago, I used to visit the restaurant regularly with my husband, including at Christmastime, and we were always impressed by the wide selection on the menu, the high standard of food, and the friendliness and attentiveness of staff. Sad to say, on this occasion, none of the above was in evidence. To begin with, the hand sanitiser machine was empty! The skeleton staff were hardly ever around. The high price was unjustifiable, and owing to the inadequate lunch, we left hungry. At midday, when we went, there were only two couples in the restaurant. Disappointing!
Decided to upgrade to a forest room for a bigger more luxurious room Only to find it was so small that each time we opened the bathroom door it hit the bed and on the other side the cupboard door hit the bed The shower was awful and the soap dispenser didn’t work The view was beautiful but the room certainly was not worth the money it cost us. When I went to report the bathroom problems all I got was a sorry This was such a disappointment after such lovely reviews Cannot recommend this hotel
Stayed at The Cloud hotel for 5 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room although the bathroom was a little dated. Very clean though out the hotel. Breakfast was top notch with lots of choice. Beautiful garden and lovely location. Made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our stay very much.
Few days away at this lovely, quaint hotel. Beautiful position overlooking the heath with horses and cows roaming. Staff excellent from arrival to departure, very attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely and very clean, garden very pretty - great place to relax with a G&T after a days walking. Breakfast plentiful and good choices. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent. Felt very safe with the COVID restrictions in place. Would definitely recommend.
