Lots of parking, easy access to the metro or into Newcastle via a bus/metro. Stayed for the GNR, and it was great. Hotel gave us all a goodie bag containing water, banana and sweets. They also gave us complimentary bath salts after the race! Just fantastic.

Stayed in in September 2021 when raking part in the GNR. Given that all restrictions have now been lifted I was very shocked and utterly disappointed to find there were no room services. No room cleaning, no top ups of tea facilities, no bed making etc., given that we paid £295 for a 2 night stay I expected some service. We ate in the restaurant only to find that a lot of the dishes of the condensed menu were not available. I ordered a sweet which had strawberries to be told they have no strawberries on both nights. I know some supplies are limited but there are strawberries in every supermarket you go into. Shame on you premier inn for charging top prices for a very shortened service. I would like to say this is not the fault of the staff there they were absolutely delightful, they were friendly, helpful, pleasant and couldn’t do enough for you but premier inn you are letting your staff down, they are giving 100% to the customers but you are not.

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to the issues you experienced. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the team to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. In future, our Reception team are on hand 24/7 and so we would advise speaking with the team as soon as any issues arise to help resolve this whilst you're still in-house. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Danny

I don't know what other people are moaning about on the 25th August this Premier Inn is as good as all the others we've stayed in. Rooms very clean. Lovely & quiet. Great staff. Food good. Good value for money. If someone had a dirty room all they needed to do was complain & it would have been sorted. Premier Inn is still the best budget hotel change. I do not work for them! Chef kept us waiting too long for our desserts.

We certainly had none of the issues described by some recent reviewers and had everything that you expect from a stay at Premier Inn. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. There was a limited menu available in the evening, but this is likely a Brexit issue outside of the company's control. Breakfast is served from 5am-10am. We arrived towards the end of this slot and croissants were no longer available but everything else was. We were a little surprised that the help yourself buffet is back. There is sanitiser, but this was largely ignored by guests. There is plenty of free parking and the rooms were incredibly cheap as this is slightly out of town so likely less popular with holidaymakers but the location was ideal for us, having spent the day in Newcastle before travelling on to Durham.

Two night family stay July 21. Arrived post 4pm, dumped out things in the room and went out for the evening. When we woke the next morning it was apparent the room was filthy. Thick dust on skirting boards, sweets wrappers and empty bottles under the beds reported immediately to reception. We were promised the room would be thoroughly cleaned while we were out for the day. Arrived back at 8pm and the room hadn’t been touched. Spoke to the duty manager on reception who was really apologetic. We asked to change rooms but we’re told none were available at which point the duty manager went to our room herself to give it a quick clean. She appeared 10 minutes later commenting on its state, giving us a card to complain formally and promised a refund. She pointed out that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Completed the on line comments form to finally receive a response 5 weeks later basically saying tough, no refund - just a standard response saying it will be taken up with the house keeping team. I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve stayed at Premier Inns (second time to this hotel) and we’ve never had an issue. The staff at this hotel are rushed off their feet - reception staff doubling up as waitresses and duty managers as cleaners. Loads of PI reviews appear to say the same. Even on a pandemic, basic cleaning is not a priority and customer service from the central team is none existent. So we’ll done Premier Inn - yet another customer who will be staying elsewhere in future.
