we spent 2 nights here 19th and 20th July Lovely staff on reception only got Georgias name we phoned ahead and were given what we asked for The Beefeater was closed due to open 29th of this month but they really need to do something about the entrance in such a bad condition. Yes the rooms are quite warm no air con so they do provide 2 fans. They have new guide lines in all Premier Inns so be aware of this. They do not enter your room, one pillow each but you can ask for more as with tea/coffee milk etc tie up your waste bins. all straight forward with the CV virus

We stayed one night in the Premier Inn at Ross on Wye whilst journeying from Yorkshire to South Wales. Arriving late afternoon by car, there is a good amount of free parking here. The hotel had a nice relaxed feel about it as although it is located at the end of the M50, it is away from other habitation in the Herefordshire countryside. Check in was carried out with a minimum of fuss and whilst at reception we were offered and signed up for a combined evening meal and breakfast tariff (at the adjacent ‘Travellers Rest’ Beefeater), which we thought was good value.
Our room was ready for us when we arrived and was clean and spacious. The room had a double bed with small tables either side and was furnished with a dressing table (though without a mirror), open wardrobes and a small armchair. A flatscreen TV with Freeview channels was provided along with tea & coffee making facilities. A window looked out over a field of sheep which gave a very pleasant and relaxing view.
The ensuite bathroom had a toilet, basin and bath with overhead shower attachment. There was a good amount of flat service on which to place toiletries.
The room was on the first floor reached by a set of stairs, we did not notice if there were any lifts. We both slept well here, the bed was comfortable and the hotel’s location meant that there was little noise from outside. Very nice hotel, we enjoyed our short stay and would certainly use again if we were in the area.

This booking was in my Husband's name, but I am his Wife, writing this review. We decided to have a quick get away to Ross on Wye, and found the Premier Inn, after looking at their Website. Excellent stay, from start to finish. We had a lovely welcome from the receptionist, and she explained fully about the prepaid breakfast etc, asking if we wanted a meal deal, telling us about check out times and so on. Our room was so so comfortable. One of the main factors for us both, is that it still had a bath (so many just have showers now), and we do like a bath. Electric sockets everywhere, which is unusual, great, quick, free WiFi (you could upgrade to premium, but basic was fine for us). Flat screen TV, black out curtains, room nice and quiet. The security aspect was great too, as we had to use our key card to actually access the corridor where our room was. The food at The Beefeater was fine, obviously not Michelin Star, but the staff were very helpful and polite, breakfast good, and their £9.99 for 2 courses, early evening, was great value for money. The hotel is placed perfectly for exploring the surrounding area, which is stunning. We will return in the Spring, when more is open.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend as we had a wedding to attend close by. We stayed in room 120 - Room was spotless and we had views overlooking fields. Daniel on reception was ever so polite and could'nt help us enough. Next to the hotel was the Beefeater and we had a lovely breakfast to kick start our day. Thank you very much Premier Inn Ross.

I stayed at Ross for 2 nights at the beginning of November, I can't fault the hotel or the staff! The room was absolutely spotless - and I mean spotless!, which was comforting considering with covid still about. Housekeeping were very polite, and the lady at the desk (manager I believe) was very helpful when I needed extra teas, milk and towels - all to hand ready for me at reception. Staff at reception were also very helpful pointing me in the right direction for places to visit in the forest and surrounding areas, aswell as booking my table for me at the beefeater next door. Nothing was too much trouble. Comfy beds, and a great night's kip! Will definitely be returning soon! Highly recommended!

This is our 4th stay at this hotel as it is conveniently located for visiting family and undertaking family history research. The staff are always friendly, polite & attentive.
Ross-on-Wye town centre is only a 5 min drive away, yet the hotel is conveniently located at the end of the M50.
When we stayed the weather was very hot, which meant the rooms also became hot. The hotel would benefit from having air-conditioning installed.
The rooms could also benefit from having better quality pillows as the ones supplied appear to be well past their best.
The restaurant is a Beefeater, and though the food was good it is very much based around a grilled meat menu.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 4 month old just after getting married, as we were visiting family in the area to continue our celebrations. When arriving on the Friday night, one of the first questions we were asked was whether we would like to include breakfast with our stay and we said that we would. We were then told that we couldn't have dinner that night, as someone had tested positive with Covid-19 in the restaurant...which definitely made us rethink our breakfast choice!
We then asked where the lifts were so that we could get the baby and all of our belongings up to our room a bit easier, only to be told that there was no lift and we'd have to use the stairs. NOT ideal whatsoever! And of course, no one could even think about offering help with our stuff, because of concerns of Covid!earning we had to make a couple of trips PLUS carry the buggy with the baby in, up 2 flights of stairs.
The room was ideal and very spacious, but extremely hot and we did not sleep comfortably for the 2 nights we were there. The bed was also uncomfortable and really noisy when moving at night and the pillows were like sleeping on paper...even though we had extras!
Not the best really - and no one at the desk to speak to on check out, to air our concerns!

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Ross-On-Wye hotel
Responded 25 Aug 2021
Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to the hot temperature of your room which caused an uncomfortable sleep. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. Sadly, not all of our hotels include air conditioning. In hotels which don't, our teams do try to make rooms more comfortable by providing fans and thinner sheets. We apologise if this did not help during your stay. If air conditioning is important when staying with us, we would suggest looking out for air conditioning as a listed facility on the hotel's page on our website before booking. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the team to try and prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Mo

I love premier inns, its abit of a joke with me and my husband, but this is the worst ive been to. I am very disappointed. The room on the first night was 28.5° We thought i was because the sun was shining but on the second day, it was overcast, we had the window open all day, and the second night it was 27.5° It is unreal. I font know why its so hot, it feels like were next to the boiler room, but were not!
The breakfast the first day was dissapointing too, sausages were far too cooked, the bacon, was hard, its just not what im used to with a premier inn at all. We were asked if we wanted anything from the continental breakfast, we just had yo order our cooked breakfast, my husband had to ask gor a yogurt, its the new premier inn way since covid.. its not how i remember it and i wont be coming back to this hotel again!
