We chose this hotel as it’s dog friendly and on the beach. Wow it was fabulous from check in to check out. Never known a hotel where all the staff we came across were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room...More

A wonderful hotel set on the south sands beach in Salcombe. Helped along by some lovely Spanish speaking staff, who could not have been more charming. A real little hideaway from madding parking crowds of Salcombe. The food was well elegant with a local themes.....More

Food was good and the waiters were really nice but it took an hour for desserts to come and we were only given a £4 discount as an apology for this which didn’t seem great given we spent over £200. Would still go back there...More

Dear 'Ms P' I'm sorry to hear there was a delay with your desserts, but I'm glad to hear they were enjoyable and the waiters were nice. Next time I am sure the desserts will come out swiftly. Best Wishes Freya

Indeed there is! Comfy sofas and armchairs, it’s delightful. Lots of reading material too

Having had the same utterly poor service from a place which grades itself as four star or above, god forbid, i am interested to understand what can be achieved by the hotel, or is it just a restaurant with some rooms?, for offering such appalling service.? I am of the thinking that the owner Stephen Ball and the GM Freya just do not have any idea of what 4* service is and they are hopelessly scratching around in vain hoping that the customers they have to visit have no idea either but just fat wallets. I really do think that both Stephen and Freya need to break through that glass ceiling of service and join the rest of us up here and try and learn for themselves what they really should be offering. Stephen you are an accountant, you are bothered about the figures and whether they look good not clearly about service, just imagine what your figures would look like if you did actually get people in to your hotel to run it properly. Freya should be no where near your hotel, she talks the talk but has no experience of what 4* really means and nor do any of your staff. What part of this Stephen do you not understand?

Hi, sadly no. Dogs are banned on South Beach in front of the hotel from May to Sept. It's a council thing. But dogs are allowed on North Beach over a hill about half a mile away regards
