This hotel overlooking the English Channel sits high above the beach on the beautiful Leas promenade. It is extremely comfortable, although during the excessively hot weather during my stay I could have done with better air conditioning - not something always needed in the UK! The meals were very good with plenty of choice and more than adequate portion sizes. The staff, especially in the restaurant, were always cheerful and obliging. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay and can highly recommend this hotel.

Am a frequent visitor to this Hotel/bar. My wife and I enjoy sitting on the terrace with a cocktail whilst enjoying the afternoon sun. However, I have never understood why they have chosen the roadside in front of the Hotel as designated parking for coaches ! The Hotel advertises "beautiful views" which Indeed there are,(promenade, flower beds & the English Channel beyond) however the views cannot be seen due to the coaches being parked directly in front of the Hotel ... at least not whilst sat on the terrace !. I'm sure that this is an oversight of the local council rather than the Hotel, but the coach parking could be moved 100m further back down the road (opposite the band stand) whereupon it would not encroach on anybody's view ! Other than my gripe about the above, this is a nice place to while away an afternoon in the sun ( being local, I have never stayed overnight !)

I’d booked a number of rooms for a few of us, a group of friends, to go away for the weekend - we live in all 4 countries of the U.K. and come from a number of different countries outside the U.K. The team - Kayleigh, Robert, Laura, Julia, Hana, Wiktoria, Michael and Ed - did a fantastic job … both the accommodation and the party we had in the restaurant. Great bar, great views, great experience: we’ll be back!

We just got back from a 4 night stay at the View Hotel, our 2nd in the last 3 years. The building is elegant and clean and has a great location seafront location. The staff a very attentive and personable and there is a bar and a nice restaurant. The room was very spacious, clean and well furnished with a kind of luxury/boutique feel to it. The restaurant food was very good - gourmet food at gourmet prices. We went during a warm week though so the rooms were hot at night, which is probably a bit unavoidable for a south facing view and the large Edwardian windows. There was a floor fan but it wasnt quite enough. Two of the nights were quite noisy as there were large wedding groups staying and making quite a lot of noise going up and down and in and out of their rooms, the sound insulation is less than what you would experience in a modern custom built hotel. But all in all, it was a good experience and pretty much as we remembered it.

Paid 150 per night for an attic room which is dilapidated, dirty walls and peeling paint. Poky claustrophobic room with a tiny high window felt like a prison cell. No air con, no shower gels, furniture depressing and broken, old fan and radio in room. All fine if 70 per night not 150. Staff and manager don’t care and many similar reviews. Breakfast was cheap and nasty tasting. A complete rip off
