Our annual trip to Craigendarroch never fails to deliver a relaxing peaceful week. The lodge we own is always in great condition and well equipped 5*. There is a rolling programme of lodge improvements. Since we have owned our lodge the windows have been replaced, both bathrooms

Country club has really gone downhill, expensive, basic facilities, communal showers in the men’s changing rooms! The place stinks and the gym facilities are dated and run down. Unfortunately this is he only gym in the Deeside area so I have to train here but it is very very

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Craigendarroch. Please be assured the tiles in the Leisure Club to which you refer are being replaced in the near future. The hole in the Jacuzzi is necessary however as this is the filter opening for the Jacuzzi. Please accept my apologies for the cleanliness issues you experienced in your lodge. I have discussed your feedback with our Executive Housekeeper who will be taking remedial action with her team to prevent any reoccurrence. Thank you for your feedback as through this we strive to improve our service. Kind Regards, Craig Hay Resort Administration Manager

Hi Rosemary, If Aberdeen is an optional destination for you I would definitely fly there. Aberdeen is our closest airport at 40 miles away. You would also find the roads easier for driving since you do not have the narrower mountain roads to negotiate. The drive from Aberdeen Airport to our resort would take approximately 1 hour.

The drive is just over 100 miles and will take around 3 hours. It is very manageable and I would highly recommend renting a car. You will have the freedom to see and do a lot more in the area with your own transport as public transport is very limited in the local area. Kind Regards, Craig Hay Resort Administration Manager

Hi, nearest train station is Aberdeen, perhaps 40 miles away. There is a train/bus service between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, then you would rely on public transport to Ballater. If you are a family, I would suggest you hire a car at Edinburgh and drive to Ballater. Motorway to Perth then the A93 thru Blairgowrie and on up thru Glenshee to Braemar and on to Ballater, (with the Hilton on the left just before Ballater itself). Good luck

Are there any good tour operators in the area (for Edinburgh, Loch Ness, castles, etc..)?
Pretty sure, yes. We rented a car in Edinburgh and drove ourselves.
