I stayed in Mercure hotel in November 2020 to January 2021 for work. Not only was I very pleasantly surprised on arrival, the hotel also grew on me in so many ways during my time there. The decor is fresh and dated, colours and styles exactly what I have been planning for my own house! The room was clean and roomy and the temperature was easy to control. Only thing with the shower was that the door had to be closed while taking a shower or else the fire alarm went off due to the steam, which happened a few times during my stay. I stayed in the hotel mostly during the lockdown so foods were delivered to the door. The restaurants were open for a short period between lockdowns and the view! Just stunning! The river, full of swans, I could just look at them all day. The location of the hotel is just perfect too, as it is right in the centre. The riverside offered an amazing walking route and the swans greeted me every day when coming to the hotel back from work. I loved getting breakfast in bed, and it was a good one! The room delivery worked brilliantly! Sometimes the staff surprised me with something extra. The staff really cared about their guests and I really enjoyed having conversations with them, especially after my work days. They would help me with any problem I had, even providing me a fridge into the room and cooking me foods outside of the menu. I got sick with covid while staying in the hotel, and the staff took amazing care of me, picking stuff up from the pharmacy, delivering food and constantly making sure I was allright. As I spent quite a long period there, some of the staff really became like friends to me, and before I left they surprised me with a gift basket they had done for me 😍. That just shows how much they care for their customers. All in all, warm and elegant hotel, home away from home. I wish I can visit when it's not a lockdown so I can take advantage of other facilities like bar and gym. Thank you, Team Mercure! You will always be in my heart!…

I’ve stayed here countless amounts of times, from when it was called ‘parkinn’ great team nice bar nice location over looking the river. Unfortunately on one of my stays I was given an old room with tall brown wardrobes and a manky view of pipe works. On the other hand I’ve had nice stays with large rooms over looking the river, nice bed, once I asked for room service (cauliflower tart and salad) 2 hours had passed so I called the reception and asked where my food was, they said ‘they forgot’ I was taken back a bit so just went over the road to Nando’s instead. (4minute walk), corridors can get confusing, a bit scary almost an eerie feeling at the basement floor (back entrance). Don’t know why we can’t use the gym or it isn’t mentioned upon arrival, drinks and food are good although could do with cocktails.…

All I needed was a short overnight around Bedford but I soon wished it had been longer. The bedroom was very attractively designed, with a great view over the river and swans, and with good facilities. Even a Nespresso machine! And the dinner was delicious. I'm tempted to go back for longer.

Wow, what a surprise. I was honestly not expecting such high quality in Bedford. The room was so spacious and modern, huge bathroom and beautiful river view. The bed was super comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

Visited during the covid pandemic and didn't expect things to be normal, however they could have been better. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were hard to find, never anyone on reception, after waiting around, then had to knock on office door to get attention each time. The breakfast is in a bag and pre ordered previous day, however this made no difference since it was never ready and always incorrect, e.g. wrong cereal , no milk, no jam, cold bacon sandwich etc. It appeared they were not staffed or ready for customers. Had cancelled one night of stay prior to arriving. I was promised a refund on my credit card. I received a lot of different reasons as to why I didn't get (and still haven't got) the promised refund. Definitely felt fobbed off.
