The hotel was warm and comfortable, the food was very good and plentiful. Our waitress was friendly, quick and helpful.
There were only 2 small gripes. Some staff at reception were sharp with me and other customers, almost to the point of rudeness, others were friendly and helpful. The second gripe was the shower in the en suite. I was very glad of a walk in shower but the shower door was very stiff and I really struggled to open it. It slammed shut with such force it made me jump. Inside the shower the water kept changing temperature and was not much more than a sprinkle.
Can't fault the location of the hotel. I stayed in a twin room, even though the location is situated on a road leading to the seafront we could see the sea from our room.
Free WiFi throughout, did need to ask at reception for the password, hairdryer, flat screen TV, kettle, cups, milk, tea, coffee in the room as well as towels, soap and shower gel. Very comfy beds, I slept very well. Even though we were at the front, didn't really notice the sounds of the traffic, in fact I would say it was quiet. There were some signs of wear and tear but nothing major, room still very comfortable.
Food, great. Good selection to choose from for starters, mains and pudding.
Friendly barman.

Wi-Fi was not available in our room despite claims the advertised claim.
Breakfast, advertised in the hotel’s information book as being available until 9.30 was not available at 9.00 the day we left as there were apparently too many guests! No apology was offered and the attitude suggested it was probably our fault!
We stayed there because of the location near the tennis - we won’t however being going back!

I have never stayed in a single room so tiny. It measured approx 5ft by 10ft. it covered a bedroom including the 'bathroom,, which contained a toilet and a curtained recess for the shower. The basin was in the bedroom part, as there was no room in the bathroom area. I used a walker, as did several of the guests. To get into and out of the hotel there was a wooden ramp, but that was only to be used by the men carrying suitcases. The elderly and disabled guests had to carry their walker up steps. I saw several struggle to do so. A couple passing as I attempted to carry mine up the steps did that for me. The photos show a wooden bed frame, but mine was Victorian ironwork. The food was good, as were the staff. It was to celebrate Christmas and yes there were lovely decorations around, but no christmas entertainment. Mainly bingo all afternoon and early evening. The entertainment each night was excellent but after bingo, during which people retired to their beds.
Father Christmas arrived, but no gifts for guests like at other hotels. He was that evenings entertainer, who left the hall to dress up, then he came back to continue with his great renditions.
If I was to return again, but not at Christmas I would have to pay the single supplement to get a bit better room.
The hotel rooms are small but are kept nice and clean with a daily change of towels.
All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
The dinning room was well organised considering that there was three coach companies plus independent travellers staying. There was an excellent choice on the menu and all the food was well presented and hot.
The only negative I found was the lift which I think many guests found difficult to negotiate the two doors !!!
The hotel is ideally placed for the promenade.
"A nice peaceful location just a few minutes from the Centre of West Bay. Private parking. "Read full review
"Like most places these days the hotel is a non-smoking one but you can go outside by the entrance. Request a room with sea view."Read full review
