We held a lunch at the hotel for my parents 60th wedding anniversary in early December and were impressed with the hotel and all its staff. Having lived in Eastbourne for many years I had never been to this hotel but it is a beautiful building and decorated lovely inside.

The food was good and reasonably priced and the hotel also let us take our own wine and charged us a corkage fee which was much appreciated and kept the cost down.

Ola who helped us organise the lunch was very friendly and helpful as were all of the staff that we encountered which is unusual in this day and age in hospitality.

Thank you Ola and team. We will definitely recommend the hotel to everyone.

Stayed Saturday 5th August for one night. We had a lovely room (32), had great views from the room and the toilet. Lovely big bed (TV a wee bit too small and the shower pressure is not the best). The gentleman who booked us in gave us a very nice welcome. You can see that the owners have spent a lot of money keeping this place looking nice. It was great to stay in a "fresh" seafront hotel that did not look tired !! They really have done a great job. The hardest part for them, is to keep it this way. We did not dine at all in the hotel, but we did have drinks on Saturday night when we returned to the hotel. The waiter behind the bar was very nice to talk to and was very attentive. WiFi is strong and is needed, because like most of the seafront, the mobile signal is not the best. There is plenty of parking out the front of the hotel, reasonably priced and is free from 6pm to 8am. You can also park down the side streets and the hotel will provide a parking permit for £2 I think. We sadly did not get offered one, but not a big issue for us. We are looking forward to staying again.

From Sunday 7th to Saturday 13th August 2022, Hubby & Myself stayed at the East Beach Hotel for 6 nights as part of our Coach Holiday with Caledonian Travel.

The hotel is set on the main stretch, literally 20 footsteps off the beach. We'll presented on the outside with lovely sitting areas to watch the stunning views of the sea & pier. Inside is fabulous too, all beautiful decorated with a conservatory style front, living room area with nice comfy sofas & chairs to relax in. Also inside the entrance is reception & some toilets aswell. The breakfast hall is a good side, well furnished & tables set out nicely.

Our room was on the 2nd floor. We had requested a Seaview, We were absolutely thrilled to be given room 7, a lovely big room with a balcony you could walk onto & the best views. You could lie in bed & watch the waves coming in & see the pier, what more could you ask for. The room had a queen sized bed, a table & two comfy chairs at the window & a walk in wardrobe. Too the left of the wardrobe is a door which inside has a very compact but good shower, door to right of wardrobe is the room containing toilet & sink, again very compact. The room also has bedside units, large chest of drawers, a TV, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer & even a fridge(which was a godsend as we had the heatwave).

As part of our coach holiday, we were half board. Breakfast was waitress service. A choice of cereals, toast & a full English breakfast, all excellent quality & food perfectly. Evening meal, again waitress service & 3 course meal each night. They were the best hotel evening meals we've ever had. Ranging from Soups, Melon, Pate, roast beef, lamb & pork to salmon fillets, home made steak & mushroom pies, pudding & custards, gateau, cheeseboard & banana splits, the menu catered for every requirement.

We have to say a special thanks to Anetta who really looked after my hubby all week with his dietary requirements, making sure he was catered for & fed well (I hope you received the tip we left for you on our departure day). Also thanks to Amy & Glen, both excellent & looked after everyone.

We will definitely book with the East Beach again, it was truly a fantastic week & such a relaxing stay. Thanks again. 10/10

Pros:
A well decorated and very clean bedroom and bathroom overlooking the sea.
A very comfortable bed.
The furniture and curtains were of a good quality.
The heating was easy to adjust to a comfortable temperature.
The receptionist was very welcoming.
The lift was always available.

Cons:
Upon arrival we were presented with a document which had a full list of everything in the room (including the 2 teaspoons), which had to be signed in case anything went missing.
The towels were shockingly threadbare.
The TV wasn't straightforward to use.
The choice of breakfast was extremely disappointing. We had expected a range of self-service continental choice, followed by the option of a cooked breakfast. However everything was served by a waitress (including cereal and fruit juice) and the only cooked choice was a Full English. At £160 for 1 nights B&B we thought there would, at least, be fresh fruit and yogurt available too.

Overall, it was great in some respects but failed in others.

We book this last minute and what a perfect Gem it was.
We were going to be late, so i called ahead to tell them i was still coming.
Checking was smooth, Ola the receptionist was so pleasant, check in was quick, she did the car park tickets for me and gave me my room key, number 20, top floor, no noise fantastic views of the sea.
Room was fantastic, spacious, cosy, super warm, clean and a small mini fridge, we even had our own christmas tree in our room, perfect, big TV, coffee tea facilities, the shower was very slow, we did asked for them to look at it, which they did, but it was still slow, bed was super soft and 6 pillows.
I went down for some ice, had a look around the hotel, I could not find a single fault, no other residence about so it was very quiet, the front seating area looked fab, the bar was well stocked.
I asked about a New Year’s Eve booking, but they had been let down by a coachload of booking for new year, so they decided to close over New Year, which I would have jumped at a room.
The morning breakfast was a little limited, either cereals or full English breakfast, eggs (how you liked them), bacon sausages, beans , mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread , toasts, my partner prefers a continental breakfast and that limited her to beans on toast.
Food was plentiful, perfectly cooked, the ladies who served were lovely, 15 years on staff, so the place must be nice to work for.
Saturday night we ate down the road and a new resturant called the Glasshouse, everything was just perfect and very reasonably priced.
On our checkout we asked to see other rooms, room 28 has a large corner bath, executive corner room, so I will book that next time.
We will use this hotel again for our summer weekend breaks, it really was home from home.

Not a single complaint.
Don’t change anything.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. On the positive side, the staff were very lovely and accommodating, the location is excellent, and the decor is beautiful. The hotel is clean, and the breakfast was good. When I arrived, the staff kindly upgraded me to a larger room, which was a wonderful gesture.

However, there were some issues related to noise. The room I was given was next to the reception and right beside a public hotel toilet. The toilet doors are loud meaning that I could frequently hear people going in and out of it. Additionally, I could hear chatter from the reception, mostly in the mornings when guests were checking out, which woke me up every day. My room had a street view and was located next to a generator, which was loud if I opened the window. Creaky floor meant that I could also hear the people above my room.

Before my arrival, I received a form where I requested a room away from the elevator (to avoid any noises). Perhaps I should have explained clearly that my priority was a quiet room.

The sink in the bathroom is too low and narrow, it difficult to use without crouching or sitting on the toilet. Additionally, the TV was too small to see comfortably from the bed. There is a wall opposite the bed where a larger TV could be easily installed.

Overall it was still good value for money, especially over a bank holiday weekend.

A beautiful view, the best view I've had in a hotel room. The bathroom is one of the cleanest I've seen in a hotel, everything was sparkling! Cleaning staff will only come in the room if you request during your stay, you leave towels you want replaced or bags of rubbish outside your door. Our room was number 28 and was lovely and looked like it had just been decorated. There was a small fridge by the bed which we switched of at night time as it was a little noisy but water stayed nice and cold as we put it on during the day. It was lovely to sit with a glass of wine and look at the lovely view in the evening. The bed was comfortable and the hotel wasn't too noisy at night time. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was very nice and you can swap items without any fuss. The only odd thing to point, when you check in there is a form you have to sign that lists prices of items if you break them, I've never experienced that before and I took photos of just about everything before and after as a precaution. A felt it was a very safe stay with covid measures adhered to. Would return again.

This hotel needs to be applauded for starting a fornightly lunch club for people on their own who wish to make friends & enjoy a delicious meal in company
They offer a compalemantary meal on the first visit with a choice of three different imaginative dishes for each of three courses. The cost normally is £15 for two course & £17.50 for threeWe were made very welcome & all the staff were friendly & efficient & the menu was imaginably compiled & beautifully presented. The whole experience was most impressive & the hotel tastefully decorated with spotlessly clean toilets. This is a valuable contribution to the Eastbourne community & much appreciated. I can highly recommend it

Went on a coach trip to this hotel where we had all paid the same amount. Most struck lucky with a decent room. We had a pokey dingy room at the back overlooking houses. Complained but was told the hotel was full and there were no other rooms available and was told it was pot luck who got what room. Our room the most basic one in the hotel, suitable for staff but not guests. No compensation offered. Food was average but not outstanding. Staff serving at mealtimes with the exception of Sara were running around like headless chickens. Twin beds were like concrete and you could feel the springs in the mattress. Only redeeming feature is that the location is good and the hotel is clean. However the only toiletries in the room was soap in a dispenser above the washbasin and in the shower. Would not go back to that hotel.

This hotel is very friendly, clean and a perfect spot on the sea front. When I arrived I got greeted with a very friendly receptionist who upgraded my room which was great so I had a Seaview. The room was spacious with a good shower and fabulous views of the beach and pier, you could even take the chair outside and sit on the balcony. The bed was comfortable and room was warm. The breakfast was lovely and if you fancy a drink in the evening the bar and seating area is very good for a bit of a people watch. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. I travelled solo and was made to feel very welcome and would definately stay here again.
