The food was good and reasonably priced and the hotel also let us take our own wine and charged us a corkage fee which was much appreciated and kept the cost down.
Ola who helped us organise the lunch was very friendly and helpful as were all of the staff that we encountered which is unusual in this day and age in hospitality.
Thank you Ola and team. We will definitely recommend the hotel to everyone.

The hotel is set on the main stretch, literally 20 footsteps off the beach. We'll presented on the outside with lovely sitting areas to watch the stunning views of the sea & pier. Inside is fabulous too, all beautiful decorated with a conservatory style front, living room area with nice comfy sofas & chairs to relax in. Also inside the entrance is reception & some toilets aswell. The breakfast hall is a good side, well furnished & tables set out nicely.
Our room was on the 2nd floor. We had requested a Seaview, We were absolutely thrilled to be given room 7, a lovely big room with a balcony you could walk onto & the best views. You could lie in bed & watch the waves coming in & see the pier, what more could you ask for. The room had a queen sized bed, a table & two comfy chairs at the window & a walk in wardrobe. Too the left of the wardrobe is a door which inside has a very compact but good shower, door to right of wardrobe is the room containing toilet & sink, again very compact. The room also has bedside units, large chest of drawers, a TV, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer & even a fridge(which was a godsend as we had the heatwave).
As part of our coach holiday, we were half board. Breakfast was waitress service. A choice of cereals, toast & a full English breakfast, all excellent quality & food perfectly. Evening meal, again waitress service & 3 course meal each night. They were the best hotel evening meals we've ever had. Ranging from Soups, Melon, Pate, roast beef, lamb & pork to salmon fillets, home made steak & mushroom pies, pudding & custards, gateau, cheeseboard & banana splits, the menu catered for every requirement.
We have to say a special thanks to Anetta who really looked after my hubby all week with his dietary requirements, making sure he was catered for & fed well (I hope you received the tip we left for you on our departure day). Also thanks to Amy & Glen, both excellent & looked after everyone.
We will definitely book with the East Beach again, it was truly a fantastic week & such a relaxing stay. Thanks again. 10/10
A well decorated and very clean bedroom and bathroom overlooking the sea.
A very comfortable bed.
The furniture and curtains were of a good quality.
The heating was easy to adjust to a comfortable temperature.
The receptionist was very welcoming.
The lift was always available.
Cons:
Upon arrival we were presented with a document which had a full list of everything in the room (including the 2 teaspoons), which had to be signed in case anything went missing.
The towels were shockingly threadbare.
The TV wasn't straightforward to use.
The choice of breakfast was extremely disappointing. We had expected a range of self-service continental choice, followed by the option of a cooked breakfast. However everything was served by a waitress (including cereal and fruit juice) and the only cooked choice was a Full English. At £160 for 1 nights B&B we thought there would, at least, be fresh fruit and yogurt available too.
Overall, it was great in some respects but failed in others.
We were going to be late, so i called ahead to tell them i was still coming.
Checking was smooth, Ola the receptionist was so pleasant, check in was quick, she did the car park tickets for me and gave me my room key, number 20, top floor, no noise fantastic views of the sea.
Room was fantastic, spacious, cosy, super warm, clean and a small mini fridge, we even had our own christmas tree in our room, perfect, big TV, coffee tea facilities, the shower was very slow, we did asked for them to look at it, which they did, but it was still slow, bed was super soft and 6 pillows.
I went down for some ice, had a look around the hotel, I could not find a single fault, no other residence about so it was very quiet, the front seating area looked fab, the bar was well stocked.
I asked about a New Year’s Eve booking, but they had been let down by a coachload of booking for new year, so they decided to close over New Year, which I would have jumped at a room.
The morning breakfast was a little limited, either cereals or full English breakfast, eggs (how you liked them), bacon sausages, beans , mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread , toasts, my partner prefers a continental breakfast and that limited her to beans on toast.
Food was plentiful, perfectly cooked, the ladies who served were lovely, 15 years on staff, so the place must be nice to work for.
Saturday night we ate down the road and a new resturant called the Glasshouse, everything was just perfect and very reasonably priced.
On our checkout we asked to see other rooms, room 28 has a large corner bath, executive corner room, so I will book that next time.
We will use this hotel again for our summer weekend breaks, it really was home from home.
Not a single complaint.
Don’t change anything.
However, there were some issues related to noise. The room I was given was next to the reception and right beside a public hotel toilet. The toilet doors are loud meaning that I could frequently hear people going in and out of it. Additionally, I could hear chatter from the reception, mostly in the mornings when guests were checking out, which woke me up every day. My room had a street view and was located next to a generator, which was loud if I opened the window. Creaky floor meant that I could also hear the people above my room.
Before my arrival, I received a form where I requested a room away from the elevator (to avoid any noises). Perhaps I should have explained clearly that my priority was a quiet room.
The sink in the bathroom is too low and narrow, it difficult to use without crouching or sitting on the toilet. Additionally, the TV was too small to see comfortably from the bed. There is a wall opposite the bed where a larger TV could be easily installed.
Overall it was still good value for money, especially over a bank holiday weekend.
They offer a compalemantary meal on the first visit with a choice of three different imaginative dishes for each of three courses. The cost normally is £15 for two course & £17.50 for threeWe were made very welcome & all the staff were friendly & efficient & the menu was imaginably compiled & beautifully presented. The whole experience was most impressive & the hotel tastefully decorated with spotlessly clean toilets. This is a valuable contribution to the Eastbourne community & much appreciated. I can highly recommend it
