We went on the coach trip holiday so was picked up and taken to the Hotel, was well fed (breakfast and 3 course dinner), lots of tea and coffee put in the rooms everyday as well as being cleaned daily. Day trips were on offer and lots to do in the evenings, with daily games of bingo and entertainment. Then at the end of the holiday you were taken home again all for a reasonable price. My Mum, brother and I loved it. Thank you Imperial Hotel for having us.
Meals were also good, hot & plentiful served super quick by friendly waiters who supplied everything asked for.
Entertainment good but room is a bit haphazard with seating in alcoves when you cannot see the entertainers. It's a big hotel & does get busy so tables are sometimes put on the dance floor. if you wait for hot drinks after you evening meal, tables are difficult to get for the entertainment.
Tinsel & turkey holiday was made special by carol singing at your first meal & on the second night by the entertainer. This was definitely a nice bonus.
One thing to mention, WiFi is rubbish. Daish's really need to get boosters in their hotels, not everyone has a smartphone with data & nowadays most people need to have the ability to access the internet/emails etc in their own rooms.
Altogether a very good stay so I would return. Thanks to David (manager) & his team.
We didn't expect food to be 5 star but on occasions it was inedible. I've never seen red cabbage boiled so long it goes a very pale pink! Cottage pie had loads of salt poured into it. Jelly could probably have bounced it was so rubbery. If you asked for an item to be left off your meal you got no replacement. The rooms were OK apart from the fact the windows were painted shut and only one opened a little way at the bottom. We were relieved it wasn't baking hot. It was stuffy enough as it was. The 2 small lifts only held 3 people, there were 4 floors on holiday makers, so getting downstairs that was was extremely difficult. They certainly don't cater for the disabled or those on wheelchairs. Steps everywhere, even into the dining room.
I've brought one of the groups brochures home with e to make sure we don't stay in another one, as they are all run on the same lines.

We arrived at the imperial hotel fast check in cases took to our room .
Nice big room clean and tidy hairdryer in draw .
Also kettle and tea/coffee in room .
As my mom is diabetic was good that they had a sharps box from reception to safely dispose of needles.
Food was Good was very nice and hot plenty of choice .
Friendly staff our waitress was ok
Coming back we had a lovely driver for part of the journey called gordan (Robinson coach) he chatted most of the way telling us we’re we was going and about different areas we drove through.then we had to change coaches taking all of our hand luggage with us into service station we got to the new coach with a driver called graham (danish’s coach) who attitude was not good there was a crisp packet on the floor with both doors open and windy outside think it has got blown in he accused us passengers of dropping it the way he spoke to us was not nice . He told us not to drop crumbs and not to eat any hot food when anybody who had got hot food would not of had time to eat it in service station .did not introduce himself just told us what time we would be at each drop off not friendly made the end of our journey uncomfortable not the way to treat customers
We enjoyed our stay with very much, we went with Daishs, a very smooth journey with stops at service stations along the way. We arrived at 1715 and was greeted warmly by management, our cases was delivered to our rooms by staff. We booked in and got our keys and filled out a menu for tea, all was done in an unhurried manner. Brilliant staff.
We had a fantastic time whilst there, it's a love clean and friendly hotel, the lovely staff were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was lovely. beds and pillows so comfy and clean, walk in shower, complimentary soap and shampoo, a good sized room and warm enough.
Meals good, service excellent, staff very pleasant and would always have a smile. 2 bars, again good service, Entertainment very good with music for all tastes. Rooms all cleaned everyday.
Met up with some people from up and down the country and had a good time chatting about anything and everything.
This is the 2nd time me and my husband have stayed in this hotel and We would definitely return,
Very good value for money. A big thank you to all the staff for helping us to enjoy your wonderful well run Hotel xxxx
All the staff were very hard working and helpful........ the bedrooms are basic but clean, the wifi was only in the reception area / rooms
This hotel is like something from the 1950s but not in a cool retro way - more like no money spent on it since then. The bathrooms are very old and decrepit, some newer showers are being installed but it’s very hit and miss what you get. Likewise the rooms, some are ok but others are more like a cupboard or a corridor with beds in. We had two rooms, one was spacious but had an awful bathroom, the other was very small and had no shower at all.
The mattresses looked as old as the hotel, and we felt every single spring in them. We asked about alternative rooms and after the first night were moved from the small room without a shower to a narrow yet strangely high ceilinged alternative that at least had a shower.
The staff were really friendly and did their best but had nothing to offer as the hotel was in such a poor state. The bar area was bleak and lacked any character or atmosphere.
So if you are not too fussed about getting yourself clean, getting a good night’s sleep or having any sense of comfort from your hotel then this could be a great choice. Sadly the website does not advertise these features and so you may be disappointed.
"The entertainment room at night gets very full quickly so if there are a few of you get down asap."Read full review
