My wife and I stayed for a couple nights as a romantic getaway by the sea. What can I say? It was fabulous.
Pros: Matt couldn't have been more welcoming, offering local insights and dinner recommendations. The staff were friendly and helpful, holding the old fashioned, beautiful lift doors for us and escorting us to our room on arrival where the TV had been set with a scenic picture and music for ambiance (it's the little things). The room was clean and spacious with thick, soft, carpet, a huge sofa, and a large desk and ornate looking chair that made me think it would make a pleasant writer's retreat - already finding excuses to return. The bathroom was wonderfully large with marble flooring, with plenty of storage space for all my wife's accessories. I appreciated the small details -coat hangers that come off the rail, complimentary bottles of water by the bed and in the bathroom, Netflix profiles that helped me quickly find something to watch, smooth glide curtains and windows I could open when I wanted some fresh air. The view was great for a side-facing window too.
Petty Cons: The mattress was a bit too soft for my old bones. My wife thought it was comfortable. The breakfast was a bit overpriced, but there was a vegan full English option for my wife and my omelette was delicious.
The hotel's location was ideal for finding somewhere to eat, the shops, the beach, and for coastal trails for walkers. We walked up the cliffs to Beachy Head for a pint on the South Downs and to take in some breathtaking views. We would definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Chatsworth hotel. The reception area is spacious and welcoming, and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The general ambience of the public areas in the hotel is peaceful and relaxed. It has a nice calming feel, which is perfect when staying away on a business trip. There is a slight art deco feel to the hotel lobby area, mainly due to a quaint but perfectly functioning lift, complete with a seat. The bedrooms were large and incredibly comfortable. Decorated in pale grey & white, they too made you feel relaxed and calm. Breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable - even the toaster was set at the perfect toasting level - it's as if they knew! My single only, hardly want to mention it, complaint would be that there was a very small stain on my hand towel in the bathroom - a sin I am more than prepared to overlook and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at a quiet time of year and were very kindly upgraded to a Junior Suite with a superb sea view. The team are simply the best at excellent service and were always polite, courteous and helpful. We would stay again. The rooms was very spacious with a very comfortable large bed and beautiful bathroom . The breakfast was very good with a vegan option . Parking vouchers for 24 hours are available for just £2 and it easy to park on street nearby or pay more to stay in a very close NCP. An evening meal is not available although there is some room service providing food . One tiny issue is that it is probably time for some decorative updates with paintwork here and there needing refreshing. Overall a charming boutique hotel with exceptional staff.

The reception staff were great. Good comms, friendly, helpful. They were the best thing about the hotel.
Breakfast was very poor - overcooked food on warmers, brown avocado, poor selection of fruits, no tongs for bread and small bowl of pastries - decor of rooms bland and not luxurious - could do with an upgrade - , housekeeping, perfunctory, facilities basic (carpet in out room was grubby, extremely poor lighting, no dressing table so hard to do hair and makeup as not lighting, no decor, sofa hard and uninviting) No evening meals!!!! This is not a 4*, more a 3. Also it was v expensive for what it was. Considering they were fully booked the pace was quiet and we hardly saw anyone meaning a poor atmosphere. The lift whilst lovely has heavy cage doors which were awkward to use Would we go again? It would have to up its game a lot to justify us spending that sort of money again

We recently stayed here as a base while visiting local National Trust properties. Upon arrival we received a First Class greeting at reception and escorted to our room we could not have been more impressed. It was beautifully furnished to a very high standard with a side view of the sea. The visitors book is well worth a look.
This is the true definition of a Boutique Hotel with incredibly high levels of detail, luxury and service. Breakfast is also an absolute treat in beautiful surroundings using high quality ingredients.
I have worked and stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world and this has to be among one the best hotels in the Eastbourne area.
Parking was not an issue with plenty of room on the sea front with a hotel voucher or the NCP a minute away.
Best part ;The team that makes your stay so enjoyable Worst part; Leaving.

Hotel is situated beautifully on Eastbourne beach, stunning Victorian architecture. Hotel staff were welcoming and keen for us to have a lovely stay.
We booked a junior suite priced at over £300 for a night. It was a stunning Victorian room with beautiful high ceilings, bed was amazing jacuzzi bath was lovely.
Stairs coming out of bath are tiled and need an anti-slip surface or can be a serious health and safety issue likewise a shower mat should be provided as soap makes the tiles very dangerous. Some of the furnishings need re-upholstered as slight scuffs. For an expensive price in comparison to bigger cities, there are no luxurious touches to the suite to make it stand out from a regular room except the bath. Other hotels offer breakfast to the suite inclusive of the price or a fully stocked mini bar etc. It just needs a bit of TLC and thought to be able to justify the price in Eastbourne.

The hotel is in a great location near the bandstand and within walking distance of several restaurants and cafes. They supplied a £2 parking ticket for each day, so you can easily park nearby. The bedroom we had on the 4th floor looked like it had recently been refurbished, it was delightful. Very comfortable bed and modern bathroom with sea views. There was a beautiful restaurant but they only served breakfast, and we found the buffet to be a little cold - however, you could order direct from the chef and it would be brought to you. We will certainly stay again.

A nice ok hotel but not a small luxury hotel. I have stayed in some of them. There's a crack in the side of the glass.table with the tea set on it. The biscuits are very basis. No photographs at all on the wall, even the Premier Inn at £52 has photos secured to the wall. There was dust on the window sill, and the skirting boards are a bit grubby in room 207. On a positive, the price is right for an Eastbourne sea front hotel. Just don't sell the place as being luxury. That's attention to details and top quality provided.

This was our first stay at The Chatsworth Hotel .. and we had a lovely time.
We arrived at 2pm on Saturday and our room was not ready, so the lovely hotel receptionist very kindly offered to look after our luggage. This allowed us to go and have a walk around the town and when we arrived back at the Hotel, she informed us that our luggage had been put in our room.
The Hotel reception had the wow factor for us and we really loved the old lift that you use to go up the floors. Great facilities such as the use of a gym and a nice bar.
We booked Room 302 (partial sea view room) and we had a nice view of the sea and the pier. We heard no noise at all during the night, which was a plus considering our room was close to the sea front.
Breakfast in the morning was really nice, with a great variety of hot and cold foods. They made me porridge to order and the hot breakfast was of really good quality. We also really enjoyed the smashed avocado and smoked salmon.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful and I must give a special mention to Caitlin Rees who is a credit to the Hotel. All in all we had a great time at the Hotel and would recommend it to anyone. We are looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful Hotel !

Had a one night stay away from our children as a birthday treat. We don't get the opportunity to do things as a couple very often so we thought we'd book the best room with a sea view and spoil ourselves.
I have to say that the room was absolutely stunning, very spacious with great furnishings, TV with lots of apps such as Netflix etc, huge Emperor sized bed, and spa bath as well as a "rainforest"shower.
Checking in was pleasant, all the staff are very welcoming and helpful, with a lovely period lift with gates and a bench seat adding to the classic feel of the hotel.
The full English breakfast was surprisingly plentiful as we had it sent to our room rather than eat in the restaurant. A lot of hotels we have stayed in serve one of each item, whereas here there were 2 of everything, plenty of toast, and a generous sized glass of fresh orange juice. All cooked to perfection.
The location was great, overlooking the sea with the pier just to the left, and plenty of restaurants literally around the corner.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
