We stayed at this hotel whilst on a bowls tour for 4 nights. The room although very small was clean along with the toilet and basin but the shower was thick with black mould. We did ask to be moved but the hotel was full so couldn't. Several others on our party also said the same thing but some were lucky as they had refurbished some of the rooms. The communal areas have been updated so that was nice. We have to say the staff were excellent especially the restaurant staff who even though they were short staffed every day got the food out in record time and piping hot.

Have just returned from this hotel. We were in a twin room which should really have been a single. The toilet and wash basin were ok but the shower was disgusting with brown everywhere which smelt. According to our fellow travellers there were better rooms and we were unfortunate to be allocated ours. The staff in the restuarant worked so hard, often under difficult circumstances. Good to see fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. Be aware I was overcharged in the bar!

We went on the 30th August 2021 for five days.I booked through Shearings. My daughter is a coeliac and the hotel assured me that her condition would be catered for. This did not happen, not only did the reception inform the kitchen but the so called chef was not trained in allergens both the food and the cooking of it.The cooking has to be separate from the other clientel. The restaurant manager supported her chef to begin with and then admitted to me the night after that she actually found the chef cooking in the same fat as the rest of the customers and most of the food was not gluten free.My daughter ended up in A+E and was told she must not eat in the restaurant. She has just recovered from her ordeal. The hotel was filthy and our twin room was only a single we could not move and we could not open the window. The toilet had black marks inside and the shower was badly marked it had nt been cleaned for I don't know when.We could not see the colour of the carpet it was an inch thick in dust.I went to reception and told them we were not staying in the bedroom and on the Tuesday we were moved to a proper twin room but it was the same cleanliness wise and there was lose wires running down the walls connected to the TV and it had been raining in.So it was disastrous and we have come back needing another holiday.Elaine McDermott.

Can’t fault this hotel. From reception staff with parking permits to friendly bar staff we had a totally positive experience. A room with sea view few shabby bits round edges but was clean & everything we needed. Great location on sea front & near to everything. Ignore the negative reviews! We would come back again in a heartbeat

We had a four nite stay here, Monday to Friday with Edwards coaches. We were a party of 2 couples. Got to say, please don't take any notice of the negitive reviews people have left about this hotel. We were quite concerned after reading them. We were pleasantly surprised. The bar area has been recently refurbished to a very good standard as was the reception area. All the staff in this hotel were very pleasant and polite and helpful, from the staff at reception, to the bar and restaurant. The food was amazing, breakfast had loads of choice everyday, and evening meals had 4 choices of starters, mains and deserts . Your order was taken promptly and served straight away. The only negative we had was the water in shower was quite cold, would get a little warmer but was very temperamental, few others had this issue, but friends we were with had piping hot water. Ok the rooms are a bit dated but the bedding was very white crisp and clean and the towels were white and fluffy. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because of the water issue and also the outside patio area could have been a bit cleaner. But hey for a 2 star hotel it was Amazing!
