We stayed two nights at the Mumbles Carlton Hotel in room 25, which is the room just above the entrance into the hotel. One main consideration was parking, which is available just across the road. All day parking cost £5.

We stayed away for a girly weekend away across 2 rooms while we visited The Biggest Weekend. We were sold the hotel as a 4 star and it maybe was a 4 star once but I wouldn't say it is now. The room I stayed...More
Third time we have stayed and again a fantastic welcome and very helpfull staff. Lovely room overlooking the bay and a short stroll to the centre of Mumbles. Public car park directly opposite the hotel and free on-street parking. Will definately stay again and recommed...More
The hotel has a very friendly atmosphere, staff were very helpful and polite. We had comfortable and very clean sea front rooms. Even though on the sea front road, noise was minimal so I had undisturbed sleep in a very comfortable bed. Cooked breakfast was...More

Mumbles Carlton needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it to a good standard. It appears tired and run down like the people running it. There is NO soundproofing between the rooms and the extractor fans in all the bathrooms can be heard loudly (in some cases all night) from other rooms.
Our bed was most uncomfortable as the mattress should have been replaced years ago. There is NO choice of food at breakfast. Your friends would not be impressed. Seeing the previous comment, if this hotel has been refurbished then I am astounded!
I would recommend changing venues. Unfortunately, I have only stayed near Mumbles once so cannot offer an alternative there.
we were on the top floor, overlooking the road (and the Bay) and had no problem with noise from the road. As others have said, the staff are very helpful and will solve any of your problems - ask for Sarah.

"Ask for a sea view room with the big bay windows."
