A small hotel but with a great view..nice view from rooms on the trees..very nice as its green. Nice staff yet some i guess was quite not aware how to greet people. Nice room but room for improvement concerning cleaning, as i did mention before my husband is astmatic and can't bear dusts its what i was served in the room, guys please do check the night lamps and bulbs so huge layers of dusts, washroom ants and water leakage near toilet. Balcony was the place where we spent all of our time was nice but do repair the lamps on the balcony as well. I am used to visit many hotels but for a small hotel i was satisfied with the foods. Its simple mauritian cuisine but very great. One thing which was best was my husband birthday cake surprise from the hotel thank you so much really had a great one. Dissapointed upon the pool jacuzzi which was not working! Would like to come back again if you got the negative points to a positive level.cheers thanks you guys

Great Location of a Hotel, breakfast view of sea right in front of you. Thanks to Nilesh,(Best service), Sandia and Laval and Melissa and all the staff who made our stay very pleasant there, not to mention the cleaning ladies too. Hotel does need some music to liven the atmosphere whilst at bar or restaurant or even on the beach loungers. Restaurant food prices a bit pricey. Recommended Hotel as close to the beach on either sides - Cassita or Pereybere beach.

A quiet boutique hotel located next to the Pereybere public beach. The grounds are stunning and very well kept. The room was large, clean and well equipped. Large outdoor seating area off the room. Sandy beach steps away. Immediate access to the sea by the dock on the beach area of the hotel.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

No complaint on the food and service at the restaurant: nice staff and food was good (daily showcase of local Mauritian foods).

The hotel is well located. There are supermarket, bar, restaurants steps away. I also took the bus back and forth to Grand-Baie for some shopping (less than 10 minutes away). Much cheaper than getting a taxi.

Thank you to all at Hibiscus for a pleasant stay.

Me and my family checked in at Hibiscus hotel yesterday 13th of Feb 2021.
Its quite deplorable there were no porter services. In the room there were no water bottles (even on half board basis we should be getting 2 water bottles per room). Kettle and mugs were there but no tea or coffee. Never mind, we brought ours but how to even make a cup of tea without spoon. Seriously?
My major complaint is from afternoon till 1 am in the night we heard noises (furniture being dragged) in the room 211. Mu husband and I were in 212 and my kids in 210. Even though we mentioned adjacent bedrooms. Many times during the night we heard someone trying to open our doors. Both mine and my kids.
Even though I was informed that reception closes at 23h, I called the reception (supposedly the calls get transferred to the manager's room after 23h), my calls were unattended at midnight. We had to take the kids with us.
Valentine turned into nightmare

We were guest of Hibiscus Hotel for the first week of our honeymoon and our stay here was really pleasurable.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a beautiful terrace facing the ocean.
The restaurant provides exquisit Buffet for dinner and a lunch menu for a very good price .
At breakfast you can't miss Sunita's delicious pancakes!
As honeymooners we were gifted with a romantic candle light dinner and a bottle of champagne.
Every evening the restaurant offer a different kind of entertainment, even a traditional Sega evening!
The position of the hotel is ideal to reach many interesting destination on the north of the island even with public busses. You can even get to Port Louis with an express bus.
The front shore is rocky (prefect for snorkeling) and 2 beautiful sandy beaches are easily accessible from the hotel (walking distance).
If you have any questions about the island, the staff will be more then happy to help you.
Hibiscus is a 3 star family run hotel, don't expect a luxury resort. But if you are searching an experience with local people, if you like to listen to their stories if you are looking for a relaxing and authentic taste of Mauritius, this is the right accommodation for you. Hibiscus will steal your heart.
From the check in till the day of our departure we were accompanied by the kindness and politeness of all the staff of Hibiscus.
From the reception to the restaurant, from the Orca diving club to the clean team a big thank you!
Additional thanks to Ashley, Christophe, Josh, Naveev, Akshay and the rest of the crew making our stay memorable.

My aunty ameeta stayed at this hotel, and this is her review:
The hotel and their staff members Kajal, Tashur, Kenny, Sunita, Christopher, Akshay, Ashley and Patrice have been amazing to me and my family they made us feel more than welcomed i am so pleased with the services that we received. The owners, Mr Toshlen Bacha and Jean Noël are the reason why I have been back three times on different occasions
No problem is too big or small for the staff members they are more than willing to help me and my family with no hesitation.
Anifa and Sunanada made my room beautiful every single day until the end of my stay. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The gardener and the maintenance team are amazing they wore very hands-on with me and my family. Unfortunately, I can't list all the staff members, but they wore all amazing in every way.

This is the worst place to be and customer service is nil
Made a reservation for lunch today and drove all the way from our place to reach there .

Security guy is very weird and no hospitality at all.
The guy there said they did not take any reservation and the one who pick up the phone took the reservation in a wrong way.
So we had to drive back and find somewhere else for lunch

I’ll mannnered and no hospitality at all for such places

We didn't stay at the Hotel Hibiscus, but wished we had! It's got a great location, right on the seafront, and by a beautiful semi-private beach (it's a public beach, but difficult to reach unless you go through the hotel). The grounds are extensive, quiet and verdant, and there are loads of sunloungers. The pool looked very inviting. The (expensive) restaurant is right on the seafront and has lovely views - a great place to enjoy a leisurely coffee.

The reception area is very smart, and the receptionists very friendly indeed.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see a room, but they look really lovely on the hotel website.

The hotel is in the centre of Pereybere, so there are loads of other bars and restaurants to choose from. The public beach at Pereybere gets very crowded at weekends and after 5pm, when the "alternative beach" by the hotel becomes even more attractive.

Just returned from a 9 night stay at the Hibiscus and what I have to say is Wow! On arrival we were taken to the dining area for breakfast and the view was fantastic. It made the long flight worthwhile.
The Superior rooms are spacious and kept very clean with towels changed twice a day. Any requests made were dealt with straight away and you felt that nothing would be any trouble. This is a small hotel and was very quiet while we were there. We felt this gave it more of a personal feel.
There are two beautiful beaches to the left and right of the hotel with excellent snorkelling. Directly in front of the hotel is a jetty that we had great fun launching ourselves off into the clear blue sea. Sun loungers were definitely worth a 5 star!
We went half board and had been expecting buffet service meals but ended up with 5 course dinners. Be aware that fish is on the menu every night but if you are not partial to fish you can request something else.
Service was good until the hotel started to get slightly busier when you had to wait slightly longer, but hey you’re on holiday and with the views available there is plenty to occupy you.
There is a small gym, pool with Jacuzzi and pedalos, canoes etc.
We were extremely surprised by how cheap things were. A beer in the hotel was just over £1 but you can purchase cans from the nearby supermarket for around 30 pence each. The local brew Phoenix went down well with my husband. Bottles of water were around 25 pence.
The Supermarket was well stocked with everything you could need and far cheaper than the UK.
There are plenty of restaurants just outside the hotel and again we found these to be very reasonably priced. 2-course lunch plus drinks would be around £5.
If you are looking for a holiday in a relaxing setting with beautiful beaches on your doorstep, clean and above average accommodation, then you need look no further. If you do want something more lively there were clubs in nearby Grand Baie that were going until at least 4:30am.
Fantastic place, setting, people, hotel, food, island. We will definitely return.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday on the beautiful island of Mauritius. I have to admit to being very particular when it comes to holidays. I feel that my wife and I work hard and we take fewer than average holiday breaks so we expect people to work hard to make sure that our holidays go well. We arrived at the Hibiscus at some ungodly hour in the morning and were not too impressed with the frontage, but from the moment we stepped out of the taxi and were greeted personally by Dominique the manager, to the moment we, very sadly, had to leave and were again met by Dominique to wish us a good journey home, we were PAMPERED. Both he and his staff could not have done any more to ensure that everything was perfect. The staff were friendly, courteous and attentive without being obtrusive. The restaurant was set with idylic sea views and the meals matched the perfect setting.Five course evening meals were the order of the day. It was a set menu cooked to order, but there was never any problem to accommodate for personal preferences. The rooms were spacious, in excellent order, having recently been modernised. The maid service seemed to take place several times a day.The hotel is located in Perybere, a small village, a 20 rupee bus ride away from the larger town of Grand Baie. The only small criticism we have is that there was no evening entertainment at the hotel or nearby. This could just be the fact that we went during the low season. This has not put us off returning as everying else about the hotel was fantastic.I do need to mention one more thing to anyone who visits this hotel. There is a taxi driver named Nazeer Bouker, who we met at the hotel. We highly recommend him to anyone, he is very reliable, knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
To summarise, the attention to detail throughout our too brief stay in the hotel was flawless and made our holiday perfect.

How long does it take to get there from the airport and how far is the shops away ?
Answer from Cyber_Norb
Vacoas65 contributions8 helpful votes
Hi. I would say that, from the airport, your journey will take some 45 minutes-1 hour (depending on road traffic). There are shops and restaurants close by the hotel - next to one of the best beaches of the island. There is also a supermarket (Winners) some 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Else Grand-Bay is some 10-minutes drive away where you have lots of shops and restaurants as well.

Yes they have vegetarian options in the hotel restaurant. Food was ok. I found restaurants that were nearby were mediocre.
