Detailed Reviews
After walking around Oslo and a long train ride to Bergen this was the perfect place to explore the area, both Bergen and the countryside.
The owner is super helpful and will give lots of good ideas for day trips.
Even though I was a solo traveler this place is ideal for groups, with a shared common room and kitchen area.

What a fabulous campervan stay we had over the Christmas period. The team at Solneset were incredibly welcoming and nothing was to much trouble, (even driving our campervan out when it was stuck in the snow) Showers are hotel style and we had use of a lovely fully equipped kitchen and lounge room and sauna. The animals on the farm are so well cared for even the ducks have a heated bath.
Amazing views and lovely walks as well as being a short train ride to Bergen. Can't wait to see it in the summer.

We stayed 3 nights in the farm, all was perfect ! There is a large living room and a kitchen where you can cook, meeting other travellers. Bathrooms are very clean and there is a sauna. The owner was very friendly and generous. We absolutely recommend it if you want to stay in the region of Bergen !

This place is a lovely escape and the owners are very welcoming. It is a shared farm stay, so please do not forget you need to bring any food you would like to cook. They have a larger well equipped kitchen that the guests have access too which has a nice deck overlooking the property to enjoy your morning tea/coffee. The rooms were beautifully decorated and have an amazing view out onto the property, but the bathrooms are shared. This is a farm so there are animals all over the property, including this lovely bird that comes inside to nest a few months a year. It is a nice way to connect with Norway's beautiful nature but still have some luxury and comfort.

Some friend (USA) and I (Brit) stayed here for a few nights and were pleasantly surprised. Great facilities and extremely helpful and knowledgeable host.(info on local hikes and the city of Bergen) Nice little bar and some great plates from the restaurant too. Showers were always hot and never had to wait too long. Small charge for shuttle bus to and from Bergen. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer

Upon arrival we were made to feel incredibly welcome, the room was fantastic and the communal areas are nicely furnished and decorated. The farm is in a beautiful valley away from the bustle of the city. We only wish we had booked a longer stay!

Fantastic working farm and a lovely couple that own it.
Would 100% recommend this even for a one or two night stay
I cannot wait until I am in this area again so I can stay here. The views here are amazing, the rooms are cosy and the beds are the most comfortable beds I've slept in after 20+ years of travel. It also contains a sauna which is amazing for the price you can stay here for.

It seems like a nice building, until you step inside the 'hotel', it smells terribly like sheep dung. The rooms are small, no coffee or tea making facilities, no fridge or anything, a nice bed and an old sofa with 2 uncomfortable chairs. In the hallway there is a shower with toilet for 4 rooms, so they share with others. The toilet and shower were clean and well maintained.
There would be a kitchen where food could be prepared, but this was a 'restaurant' with only a few simple dishes for dinner and a meager buffet for breakfast. We did not have dinner or breakfast, the local supermarket had a wider and cheaper range.
We were very disappointed, as far as we were concerned it was not worth the 2 stars and the name of the hotel, more of a hippie hostel. Luckily we were only here for 2 nights and we left early on Monday.

Perfect place to relax & recharge with easy access to Bergen city. Cosy rooms with charming living & kitchen spaces. Lovely, clean, modern & rustic decor was warm & inviting. The owner and staff were friendly, welcoming and always very helpful with any questions I had. Beautiful hiking & nature within walking distance - I hope to visit again soon!

Absolutely loved our stay! Good communication with the host from the beginning and throughout. Farm is in a nice secluded place, surrounded by mountains and has a lake in front of it. Stunning scenery! Can get really quiet and peaceful at night. Farm itself is really charismatic and well decorated inside. Having a modern look whilst retaining a farm feeling. There are some animals at the farm with which you can interact with. Some you can even see through a window in the reception/communal area. Rooms are cosy, comfortable and offer a great view of the mountains. There's a sauna which can be accessed at any time and a kitchen area if you want to cook your own meals.
