Scandic Torget Bergen stands out for its prime location, highly appreciated by guests eager to explore Bergen. While the hotel's rooms are often described as clean and comfortable, with some offering delightful views, concerns have been raised about the size and noise levels.
The amenities, especially the diverse breakfast options, receive commendations for their quality. The hotel's atmosphere is generally considered elegant, yet the value proposition receives mixed reviews due to inconsistencies in room quality and service experiences.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel was essentially in the city center. The hotel was very clean and quiet. It provided a very nice breakfast buffet.
Everything was an easy walk. In August, there was an outdoor market where you could order lunch and dinner. There were plenty of seafood options.
We took the Floeibanen Mountain Cable Car to the top for some great views and pictures of Bergen. We walked down and truly enjoyed seeing parts of the city built into the mountainside.
There are some very quaint shops - home and clothing - if you're into shopping.
Bergen is a very walkable city with plenty of old churches. There is a very pretty large pond area near where the public library is.

Have been to Bergen 3 times, all the properties I stayed at were lovely, but the Scandic Torget went above and beyond. The property location is ideal for exploring the city, the gorgeous new renovations were stylish and hip while still be welcoming and warm, the staff was friendly and outstanding, and the rooms were big, fantastically decorated, had amazing views of the lake and mountains. I will definitely be staying here any time I am in Bergen!

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. The room as easily big enough to accomodate the extra bed for our son. Very clean and secure room. Staff were always happy to assist. Breakfast buffet was great. We didn't get to try the restaurant as it was not open on the nights we stayed. The location is very central and easy to get to (10 minute walk) from the train station or light rail stop.

Nice room, obvious that the hotel has been renovated lately. Breakfast was also very nice. It was a incident with water leakage during our stay, but the staff handled it very well.
Our room was missing a ceiling tile, and several others where out of alignment. We could see electrical wires and water pipes up there, not big deal but combined with the lights being on and the window was left open when we came we wondered if we had been put into a room that was not quite prepared yet.
Then about the cleaning: the room was not vacuumed or washed when we arrived, we had to clean the toilet and the floor around it ourselves. It was obviously a man who was the previous visitor, and as you know - men tends to stand when they do what they do :-( It was dust on the bedroom floor and a used bubble gum under the bed. We arrived very late and just wanted to go to bed, but told about missing ceiling tile and the lack of cleaning it the next day. No proper cleaning was done during our stay (3 days), and the ceiling tile was still missing when we left.
Our room was on 6th floor, and we like to use the stairs unless we are carrying something heavy. The stairs and the hallways floors seemed also to be somewhat dirty, the same amount of debris was there at the same location during our stay. Obviously not vacuumed to often.
If you care about cleanliness, you might wans to check out another hotel. Otherwise a very nice stay, the staff was very service minded and polite, but we cannot give full score on that either since no effort was made to take care of what we had reported.

Dear Guest, I am sorry to hear that you weren't satisifed with your stay here at Torget. As you said, it seems as if the room wasn't completely done, as our rooms usually are whole, with ceiling tiles and they should be properly clean upon arrival. We usually offer a swift room move if guests arrive late and rooms for some reason aren't in order, so we are sorry that this wasn't offered for you during your stay. I will forward your complaint about cleaning, as this definitely should have been sorted during your stay. As for the missing ceiling tile, this room probably should not have been used, as we aren't able to fix missing ceiling tiles until we've been sent new ones and gotten repairmen in to fix it. I recommend you contact our reception by mail and explain your situation in october should you choose to stay with us again, and we will try to provide you with a nice upgrade next time around. Best regards Therese Team Scandic Torget

The hotel is located at the waterfront close to all the things you want to experience in Bergen. We enjoyed our stay a lot and may return, however without a car next time. A drawback was parking options. The closest place to park was at an expensive garage about 10 min away from the hotel

We were very pleased with our stay at the Scandic Torget in particular the central location by the harbour, with our Fjord boat departure point just across the street. Also a lovely view from our room (5th floor). Easy access from the airport Flybuss for drop off and return. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options including many allergy free items, e.g. Lactrose Free Milk, Oat Milk, Gluten free. The fridge in the room was not working but the front desk offered to put items in the hotel fridge. Definitely would recommend.

After 3 nights here, I am absolutely in love with this recently refurbished hotel in the absolute centre og Bergen! The breakfast was out of this world, and made me want to wake up an hour earlier just to enjoy. Very attentive staff and neet rooms with all you need for the business trip included. The cleaning is absolutely spotless in all areas. The beds are fantastic, and the room was nice and quiet. Dockside location directly on the famous "Torget" just tops the cake. Safe and affordable parking only 600 meters away, in an underground facility.
I hope they have rooms available the next time I visit!

This hotel should really have everything to make your visit to Bergen a pleasurable experience. The location is fantastic; right in the city center and super close to everything you need. The rooms were clean but the housekeeping was gruesome ; you really need to remind the housekeepers that you a fresh supply of the bare necessities like towels and toilet tissue. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the rooms weren’t air conditioned or in the very least a fan to cool the rooms in the summer with temperatures in the high 20s degrees C !!!. Bear in mind that this hotel is in the center of town with all the noise and if you have to ventilate the rooms by opening the window you wouldn’t be getting much sleep and that’s a major problem ! Frankly speaking our 4 nights were pretty much sleepless .
Good breakfast buffet but consider dropping the 10:00 hrs slot due to overcrowding

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of our hotel. We really want our guests to be satisfied, so we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback that can help us improve. We have brought your complaint about our housekeepers forward, this is definitely something that we will be working to improve. We are sorry to hear that you weren't offered a fan, this is something we usually always have on hand upon request, so we are sorry to hear that you weren't provided with one. In july we've had some extra warm days, that unfortunately also have affected the heat in our rooms, and we are working on improving our ventilation. We hope that you would want to try us again in the future! Best regards Therese Team Scandic Torget

Very good for discovering Bergen in a few days.
The location of the hotel is ideal: all amenities are a 2-minute walk away, we are at the foot of the Bergen tourist office and Torget Street, 5 minutes from Bryggen (UNESCO heritage site), Floibanen, also the fish market and cruise departures on the Bergen fjord. Some magnificent views and charming walks less than 20 mins away. Some rooms have a view of the fjord.
Small bonus, it is 20 minutes by transport or car from Bergen airport.
The comfort of the rooms is good: comfortable bed, modernized and clean bathroom. Little space and storage, but enough to hang laundry to dry. Plenty of electrical outlets available, but the TV is oddly placed on the side of the bed... with its outlets hidden behind. Fortunately this was not an important element for our trip.
The room remains small, and in ours, a door (visibly blocked) opened onto the room next door, which allowed us to hear the conversations of our neighbors... A bit limited, but that should not be same in all rooms? With the time spent in the hotel during our stay, this was not a problem, but it remains strange and limited for the price.
The window is very large and provides good light.
The thermostat is adjustable, and can be lowered up to 20.5°C.
The BONUS: breakfast which is delicious and unlimited! Something for all tastes, savory or sweet, is on the second floor with tables in front of the windows to see some of the scenery. To be included in the reservation to start the day off right!
The BALUS: the quality/price ratio is too high given the layout of the room (too small and strangely designed). It's a shame because with 3-4m2 more, we could turn the bed (fill in the weird door!), add a little storage, and immediately the price would be more reasonable.
Yes, Norway is an expensive country, and Bergen is a big city, you also (especially) pay for the location. But I paid more for this room (without the view!) than that of another Scandic in the middle of Oslo, the capital, the same week. We found the room in Oslo better arranged, larger, more practical, and it was a bit cheaper, which is still a shame. Maybe we had bad luck with the room? We can't say, but for a 3 star, it really remains a big negative point.
Still, if you have the means and prefer to pay for the location, the hotel is really well placed to discover Bergen in a few days. And for sleeping, comfort remains very good.
