Stayed only for a night before a Hurtigruten cruise, and felt incredibly welcome from the moment we walked in.
Check-in was easy, our room (though small) was very well laid out and could easily accommodate our luggage. The twin beds were comfortable and cosy and we slept really well.
The breakfast spread was impressive. Anything you could want, you’ll find. The chef (Marek?) was wonderfully proud of his work and happy to show you around / give some suggestions as to what to try. Unfortunately it’s not possible to try it all in one breakfast! The homemade compotes / pancakes /waffles were among my faves.
The location is central to everything. It’s only a small city, but it’s much easier when you’re able to walk everywhere. From the airport we took the bus to Bryggen (the last stop) and it’s about a 5min easy walk. Bryggen is the little row of wooden houses along the water and a wonderful first sight to see as you get off the bus!
Front desk staff were helpful whenever we needed any info, and we were given a very good recommendation for dinner. While Bergen itself is expensive, this hotel seems amazing value by comparison. If I come back, I know where I’ll stay!

I loved this hotel! The rooms have a lot of space and good facilities. Bathrooms are a nice size too. Their breakfast spread is very nice, in fact I loved their muesli so much that I even took some home! The coffee is Nespresso and you can have as much as you want (comparing my experience in a different hotel in Stockholm where it was charged extra). They even have a buffet in the evening Mon-Thu upto 9 pm which was free. This was a pleasant surprise as I didn't know about it. We reached around 8 pm on a Wed, and we were starving. The fact that we could just go to the restaurant and help ourselves to a mix of salads and a warm dish plus sides, at no extra cost, was just great. The staff are very nice and helpful. The location is very good, you can walk to all the major points in the centre, including the Brygeen houses, the start of the Fjord cruise and all the other landmarks.

The room was huge, spotlessly clean with a fantastic bathroom (that was well stocked) with a powerful ’rainfall’ shower. The mini bar wasn’t extortionate, the coffee machine was A1! The bed was so comfortable.
Breakfast was amazing, there was everything you could think of and the staff were just the best! A big shout out to Darko who made us feel so welcome each morning, he is without doubt an excellent representative of this hotel.
The lounge served a complimentary light meal in the evening, it was excellent, as were the lounge staff.
We had a two minute walk from the airport bus to the hotel and it’s in the perfect position for the sights of Bergen. The perfect hotel! Five star service all around!

First time in Bergen, and definitely won't be the last. Check in was quick and easy, the room was ready immediately. The hotel staff were all very friendly throughout the trip.
The hotel is in an excellent location close to Bryggen, the funicular, etc., but on a quiet street - away from any noise.
We booked a superior room and the room was very comfortable. There is no a/c, but given it was September this wasn't a concern - the room had a fan as well. The bathroom floor was constantly warm, not sure if there were heated floors but that would have been good to turn off, but we didn't see a switch. The bed was very comfortable. The room was also very quiet, we didn't hear any noise during the trip.
The breakfast buffet was wonderful, and there was a toaster (which I've found isn't guaranteed in some parts of northern Europe). They also had an option to take a packed lunch from the buffet for an additional charge - we did see many day trippers doing this. This is definitely one of the better breakfasts I've had at a hotel, we were very impressed!
We will definitely return Thon Rosenkrantz our next time in Bergen. Highly recommend!

This hotel is well located, being in the centre of Bergen, walking distance to everywhere. The rooms are nicely equipped and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom has a heated floor, which can get very toasty, was nice. The breakfast buffet was incredible. With everything you could ever want; great selection of bread, cereals, fruits, cold meats and cheese. The cook station producing wonderful omelettes amongst the usual bacon, sausages, tomatoes etc. There is a light evening meal served in the hotel and that was included in our price, this was more than sufficient for the evening, lovely soups and salads, with lots of sweet fresh fruits. I would highly recommend this hotel and will go again next time I am in town.

This comfortable hotel is located in a quiet area, close to the old Hanseatic Waterfront, near all transport links to airport and railway and bus stations. Well planned rooms and some have nice views over the harbour environs. Extensive breakfast buffet, close to many restaurants, cafes and bars, also a short walk or light railway ride from most attractions and the ferries.

the rooms are spacious and comfortable. the heated floors in the bathroom are wonderful! we had an early flight out and the hotel arranged for and confirmed an airport taxi and packed us a to-go breakfast which was unexpected and much appreciated. the light evening meal/bar service was lovely after a full day of sightseeing.

A centrally located hotel right by the waterfront, from which you can easily walk to the funicular, fish market, and ferries. The staff is helpful and friendly. Was able to take the Fly Bus from the airport to the nearby Radisson Blu hotel stop, about a 5 minute walk from the Thon Rosenkrantz. Thon Rosenkrantz is about a mile from the train station. They serve a light dinner and a great breakfast, which has basically everything and more that you would want for breakfast including fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt, eggs, breakfast meats, hot and cold cereals, smoked fish, etc. There is free wi-fi, toiletries are provided and a card-key is used.However, there are no USB charging stations and there was a rather high step into the bathtub/shower, so someone who is mobility impaired would have a problem getting into and out of the tub. I had my laundry done at the hotel and was shocked by the prices of $10 for a shirt, $15 for pants, etc. If you drop off your laundry in the morning, they do get it back to you around 5 PM.

We selected this hotel because it was near the harbor. Within walking distance is the train station, light rail stop, bus stop, historical sites, shopping of all kinds, and great restaurants of wide diversity.
The beds were comfortable, the rooms quiet, and the service friendly and helpful. I was surprised by the breakfast - the buffet was about as good as it can be! All allergens were marked on the foods. The breakfast included numerous hot items, breads, vegetables, fruits, and juices. Coffee was available all day, as were light snacks such as bananas, apples, oranges, dried fruit, and nuts. A light dinner was served four nights of the week. I recommend this hotel without any reservations!

Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz is in a perfect location in Bergen, one block off the harborfront road in the Bryggen area of town. We stayed in a family room with a sofa bed in addition to the double bed. Tea and coffee makers in the room, excellent shower and bath, quiet room away from the street. The breakfast is delicious and extensive in offerings. Anything and everything a person might want to eat, be you Norwegian or American. A beautiful lounge with complementary coffee and tea available all day. A complementary evening meal each day, with cold cuts, bread, salads, soup, and dessert is offered. Excellent value with two meals a day included in your room price. I would definitely stay here again!

The port for the Viking Cruise Ship is located at Skoltegrunnskaien, which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
It is walkable with luggage, but many of our guests prefer booking a taxi if they have several pieces. You may book your taxi at the reception, we co-operate with a local taxi company offering fixed rates.
