The location is excellent, right in the city center, with great accessibility.
The hotel building is old but in very good condition.
The rooms are clean.
It would have been better if there were more amenities, such as an electric kettle or a trash bin in the room.
However, overall, I am satisfied with my stay.

A great place to stay downtown Bergen with Bryggen and Torget in walking distance. We stayed in a family room. The room was large but a bit aged and outdated. The room was located at a floor high up facing away from the streets, so we did not hear any noise from the streets outside. Beds were soft and nice, and WiFi worked flawlessly. Nice gym downstairs. The best part was the good breakfast buffet.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a Titan Tour. The hotel is very well situated in the centre of Bergen and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are average but clean and the power points are in very strange and difficult to get to places! Be warned if you leave devices powering when you go out because when you take the room card out the power goes too! Breakfast was a little below average for Norway in my opinion and our choice for dinner was very limited, although that may be down to Titan. There are good restaurants all around and I would recommend going bed and breakfast if you can afford to eat out at local prices!

Ignore the ok entrance. The rooms and hallways have a bad odor. After complaining, we received a new room, where you clearly could smell the air freshener. Ended up with having the windows open during our stay.
The bathroom had fungus, the electronic plugs were loose and exposed, and tried to hide behind a chair.
Luckily my kids are in an age where they can be explained not to touch.
Marks on the roof.
The rooms deco looks like from the 70/80's in an eastern European country during the cold war.

If we had not arrived late in the evening, we would have looked for another hotel.
We have travelled throughout Norway this year, and stayed at several different, apartments, cabins and hotels. But this was definitely the worst one. Actually the worse hotel we have ever stayed in over the years.

Some of the staff was nice, while other didn't even bother smiling or saying hi, instead just gave us a long look.
Although the cleaning staff was nice, polite and made the room look nice again after our stay out. They even folded our clothes. That's a star for the cleaning department.

The red carpet outside was loose, and I saw another child trip over and hurt himself.

During the Corona pandemic, there were limited antibac solutions, or the machines were either empty or not working.

The breakfast was ok, but limited for those who don't eat meat.

The hotel advertises and shows only the best side on the pictures etc. But after our stay we will never be going back there again, not going to recommend it to anyone, and its definitely not a child friendly hotel.

Stay away. Definitely not worth the money. Spend your money somewhere else.

How does this hotel rate 4 stars? The rooms are so old and with poor maintenance and housekeeping .
Impossible to read a book on the sofa as lights are so dim; telephone didn't work (and not repaired); no safe, loose bath panel; no laundry service indicated; TV had to be unplugged and replugged every day to make it work (advice from reception!). Only 2 plugs for fridge and TV so kettle had be put on the floor elsewhere in room. No milk whitener, no stirrer/spoon and tea/coffee used not replaced. The cobbled road makes it very noisy when window is open. No bar or restaurant in the evening (why not?). Good breakfast was the only redeeming feature of the hotel and one to avoid. My Norwegian wife was embarrassed by the hotel quality, as we have stayed at the good Scandic hotels

The carpet on the exterior stairs is not fitted properly(the metal bars that sit in the angle of each stair, to hold the carpet in place, are often moved, because of the heavy duty pulling of luggage across them, by guests who arrive or leave). It is very dangerous and one can easily slip and fall.
The Scandic hotel's 'speciality' seems to be smelling of dust! The 3 Scandic hotels we stayed in, during our week long visit to Norway, all had this common thing. The whole place is an asthmatic's nightmare, which thankfully I'm not, but one can smell the dust distinctly.
My room overlooked interior walls and alleys but that was not a problem, what WAS a problem was that one could tell this was an old hotel, very badly renovated. Splintered wooden door frames, dusty and dirty curtains from my room, etc. It's the kind of surrounding that you want to touch as little as possible, in case you come across a mound of dust or dirt! However, it is the LOCATION that saves this hotel. It is very near to the harbour and fishmarkets and restaurants and where the life of Bergen is. Bergen is a beautiful city and I loved exploring it, but I would only stay at this hotel again, if I absolutely had to.

The hotel's location is nice and the rooms are nice and quiet, but it seemed long overdue for refurbishing.
The room had an intense smell of old dust, although most of the furniture seemed clean (it's probably from the old carpeted floor and the chairs).
The shower took 3 minutes of constantly running water to warm up.
The breakfast was nice, good selection of food. The hotel staff were friendly.
Overall the room was the singular problem, the rest of the experience was good.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a rail tour. Our first allocated room was very noisy from the busy road, so the Receptionist moved us 2 floors higher 🙄 made no difference, so we changed to a bigger room on the 5th floor facing the inner area. The hotel does have an 'old smell' to it. This 3rd room was extremely dated, and we filled an entire feedback card with comments..the TV wouldn't work, dirty towels left, dirty cups left and no replenishment. The weirdest was the close proximity of the toilet next to the bath, and others on our tour group had the same. A positive was the breakfast, but none of the 3 restaurants were ever open. Don't be misled by 'quayside location', it's at least 2 streets away. Not what we expected from a Scandic hotel, which are normally a good standard.

Booked a romantic weekend in most fancy room they had "the presidental suite" - looks like an old sailors room. In these times you'd expect cleaner rooms. Bathroom was dirty, the bathtub didnt hold the water inside and there was dust and on the balcony it was all muddy and dirty. Complained the same night and got told we'll get a new room the day after. We went down for breakfast and asked for our new room but then the new lady in reception said they would fix it while we were there... not okay. We finally got a new room - expected a nicer room as compensation but instead we got a smaller "suite" with a broken glassdoor to the bathroom, and the bathtub did not work here either..
We tried to complain but they said there were nothing to do so I asked for compensation. Next day we only got 2 hours delay on checkout... I would not recommend this hotel if you want a little luxury getaway!

The room was nice but the bathroom had a glass door whereby the person outside see right inside the person in the toilet/ bathroom.. no privacy. The door was pushing glass which is dangerous to the kids and incase of fire. Bathcabinet the water runs all over the floor when one showers, we didnt get a room next to the kids. was promised that they arrange that the next day, nothing happened, this glass door was loose, the bathroom was cold, couldnt ring the reseption with room tlf.. gave the message but nothing was done as promised. Very dissapointed

No it will not reach the hotel directly. You have to leave the bus at the square, and then walk for about five minutes.

Hi, Norwegian hotel rooms are in general not very large, so unless you have specified a family room you should not expect a sofa bed. I.e. you definitely should contact the hotel and specify your needs in advance :-)
