I don't know what it is but for some reason- the breakfast here was by far one of the most extensive Scandinavian/Western buffets I have come across. The hotel is a little out of the city centre but easily accessible by foot- even in the colder months. Seamless check in and check out- if I come back to Bergen, I would be rebooking!

I travel from NZ, which without considering the layover is about 27 hours flight, with layover it was around 35 hours, so a very long flight. I arrive in Bergen early in the morning and took the light rail to the city centre. From there it around 10-15 mins walk (flat walk).

By the time when I arrive at the hotel it was still early for check in. I ask if I could store my luggage but the reception was really kind and check me in anyways! Such a great service considering I was so tired and exhausted from a long flight.

The location is great, around 10-15 mins walk to a lot of places. 5 mins to the wharf and 10-15 to the Hurtigruten terminal.

There is a lot of selection for breakfast especially if you vegetarian/Vegan so you will have no problem. The bed is really soft too.

All in all I highly recommend here if you are in Bergen.

The hotel is in a very good location near to the harbour and about a 10 minute walk from the centre and a 15 minute walk from the train station. Our twin room was very comfortable and clean with a good sized bathroom and I really appreciated being able to open a window in the room. The self service breakfast was one of the best I have experienced. There was so much choice of both hot and cold food and I especially liked the variety of toppings available to add to yoghurt. I booked early so found the hotel to be excellent value for money, especially considering how expensive everything is in Norway.

The hotel, centrally located in Bergen, got at some point a modernization that did it well - it appears fresh and inviting. Rooms are of good size, with a desk, with a place for your suitcase, your (and your wife's !) toilet bag in the bathroom. Very thoughtful and practical. Some patches of white paint in the corridors reveal that the refurbishment is still going on, but nothing to be annoyed about.
Breakfast was nice, but could be improved. Only one piece of bacon per egg, not possible to order an omelette. Coffee from a tank. But excellent selection of bread, som some sweet stuff, fruits, cereals, cheese etc. Excellent value for money.

There is a good Italian restaurant across the street - Stefano ! It is lovely, fantastic food and it is run by some very charming people !

Stayed at Comfort Hotel Bergen for 3 nights. Our stay was wonderful. Hotel staff all so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Exceptionally clean and spacious rooms in an awesome style!

Breakfast was so yummy with a choice of hot (amazing scrambled egg) and cold (fruits, breads, cereal) and friendly atmosphere.

Location is great! 5 min walk from the harbour and easily accessible to all main attractions.

Couldn't reccomend this hotel more, was like a home from home! 😍

Most travelers to Bergen find it an expensive city, and this was a reasonably functional compromise between standard of accommodation and cost. The en suite room was clean and tidy, though entirely lacking in amenities and very small. There were, on the other hand, ample public spaces to compensate for the lack of space in the room.

In an attempt to cut costs, there was no housekeeping service. That may also explain why the breakfast selection was very limited, by Scandinavian standards. The location was both reasonably convenient to the city centre, and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

If all this sounds like the very definition of "just good enough," that's right. And paying an average of just over £200 per night for it was arguably the least comfortable part of the experience. But if travel plans dictate spending time in Bergen in high season, if the budget doesn't support the comfort level of somewhere like the Radisson Blu, and if the grunginess of the budget alternatives is unthinkable, then this is not a bad compromise.

Helpful staff every thing we asked for the staff did their best to (and indeed did) accommodate. Breakfast was a good start to the day. Central location. Not as flash as some of the up market accommodation places I am sure but very reasonably priced and met all our needs

Stayed with a friend for a long weekend. The room was basic but comfortable, we took out own travel kettle, tea, coffee etc. as these aren't supplied but other than that everything you need for a short stay. Whoever we spoke to on reception/bar was always very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of both cold continental and cooked options available. We ordered a breakfast box 1 day as we had an early start for a Fjord trip, what was supplied well exceeded our expectations. There was fruit, open sandwiches and juice enough for both breakfast and lunch. If you have a drink in the hotel definitely go up to the roof top terrace, we were fortunate to have great weather and it was nice to have a drink up there looking over the rooftops.
The hotel is in a good location with a few cafes, restaurants and small supermarket a few minutes walk away and around 10-15 mins walk from the main fish market area. If you walk in the opposite direction to the end of the Peninsular there's a small park with a panoramic viewing point.
Overall extremely happy with this hotel and would definitely used again for a short stay

The hotel is minimalist in the furniture and this affect the utility for customers. Bad experience with the breakfast. We waited 15 minutes for plates and forks, the supplying of food was poor. For a hotel that positions itself as best deserving the airport customers, a delay of the breakfast by 20 minutes+ impolite answers given by the employees is unacceptable.

We stayed two nights using the Sommerpasset offer and got a great deal considering Norwegian prices. The hotel enjoys a beautiful location in the centre of Begen, just a few minutes’ walk from Bryggen. The property is large and not particularly well-kept, in line with budget hotels. The rooms are however large and equipped with the necessary. Perhaps due to the presence of groups, the breakfast was decidedly chaotic and a little below expectations.

Our trip reversed yours. Norway in a nutshell first and then flight out of Bergen. The locals told us that the airport bus was the best option. We took one from the city center to the airport. It took 30-40 minutes on a busy Friday afternoon. The bus stop was 2-3 blocks from the hotel. Cost was very reasonable. Train station is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. It may be worth emailing the hotel to confirm these estimates. Good luck.
